So what exactly happened here? Were the data sections removed and only left with power and ground? The phone said 1.5 hours until full charge yes but it never updated to fast charging
The true limit is the maxim amperage of the charger itself. Thick cables will only help to a point but more advanced chargers also need the data pins connected as well to monitor battery charge management as well.
with first cable your phone is saying "charging in 1 hour 26 min" after modification it says "charging in 1 hour 28 min" . so it basically slows down the charging process. i dont understand how it speed up charging
With the high quality Nokia cable, it instantly switched to fast charging, because it had data wires, the phone and the charger use them to enable fast charging. But the cheap crappy cable doesn't have data pins, so it didn't switch to fast charging. By doing this, your phone will charge at the fastest speed possible without being in fast charge mode.
@I'm not Beluga I don't see how this is possible, with power exchange the phone and charger talk to each other over data pins, once charger and phone both verify, the charger switches modes and starts sending more than 5v, 9 volt is the next step up, then 12v. With newer quick charge and power exchange models you see 18v all the way to 45 volt, if the data lines are not present, the charger will stay in 5v 2a mode, which will about 4v and 1.6a of power to the phone, which is still regular charging. The only thing the process in this video achieves is removing itself from a data transfer cable which the phone believes it is plugged into a laptop and forces itself to charge at 500ma, or .5 amps, which if your phone charged at all would take 6 hours
This approach is correct increasing wire gauge will allow more current to pass through BUT the power bank must be a fast charging type with a port designed for fast charging. If the cable is a standard thinner gauge a fast charging power bank will automatically go to slow charge mode as it senses resistance in power transfer 😉
You need both the Male USB and Male Type C to have a high wattage rating in order to make this work. Although using thick wires on both power pins are correct because there's more room for current to flow you still need the Data pins to make it a fast charging because todays fast charging adapter/brick does not give all the power to the positive and negative power pins it utilities also the data pins.
No data line so that the charger and phone can communicate about voltage and amperage capacities? You know that's part of the fast charging standard for most fast charging protocalls right? If this technique didn't work for you, that's likely why. Just say'n.
WHY does that work? Do the female to female sockets share the same pin out arrangement? I'm wanting to convert a "Battery case" from my old phone into a universal battery backup. It currently has a Male Micro USB Out, so I need to make a flying lead with Female micro USB socket on one end to plug into it, and a standard USB Female type "A" socket on the other end for the output. ...Sound reasonable? The 4000mAh battery (14.8Kwh) output is noted as 5v @ 1.6A max The existing Micro USB female input is fine for charging the case battery, but for general back-up power duties a Female USB "A" Out is more useable for a wider variety of items. Can you advise me?
It works, because high currents going through cheap thin cables creates big power losses, and the phone will limit the current or the cable will overheat and burn out. By using thicker wires, resistance (and power losses) will be smaller, the phone will detect this and charge at the highest current it can take.
@@imnotbeluga007 is this written into software? I have a phone on android 10 that quick charges on my cord, I have another of the exact phones that is on android 11, same charging setup but forces charge at .5 amps thinking its plugged into a laptop

You can not solder data cable if the micro USB connector does not have them, it is only positive and negative. But it will charge fast since the thickness of the cable allows the passage of more mAh
How are people thar are clearly not observant at all, so quick to type "YoU GaInEd An ExTrA 2 MiNuTeS" I mean did you even watch the video? If not I encourage you to pay attention to the beginning where the initial charge time was 3hr and 39 min. 🤦♂️
The first high quality Nokia cable HAS data pins, they are used to ENABLE FAST CHARGING. The cheap crappy cable DOESN'T HAVE THEM, so it couldn't switch to FAST CHARGE MODE. It works because THIN CABLES naturally have a HIGHER RESISTANCE. This resistance creates POWER LOSSES and VOLTAGE DROPS, and the phone detects this, and it decides to CHARGE SLOWER, to prevent the cable from OVERHEATING. By using THICKER wires, the phone doesn't need to limit the current, because power losses have been significantly REDUCED, so the phone charges as fast as it can handle without switching to fast charge mode.
From "fast charging" 1hr 26m to "charging" 1hr 28m. You made it slower.
Ultra Fast Charging 1h 1m

It still cut down from 5 hours hello did you not see the time
Mine is 10h😂
The Nokia cable also has data pins, that's why it quickly switched to fast charging.
Nice but.....
You may increase the number of wires but again the current passing through the pins will be limited ??
The true limit is the maxim amperage of the charger itself. Thick cables will only help to a point but more advanced chargers also need the data pins connected as well to monitor battery charge management as well.

don't invent or experiment with your charger, it's amazing, just buy a 5a/6a usb cable for sure and your cellphone won't break.

Fast charger needs cable data support.... Because to transfer battery status to the charger or powerbank.. When done the charge fast...
If current is exceeding capabilities of unit potential to cause fire or damage equipment. This will work but monitor closely
Now wow nice idea 💡
When I do that shit my cables always go wrong with the time.

micro usb cable price literally only us$ 10cent in my country, and 20cent already got you some quality cable
