Magnificent creatures. I agree with what he said towards the end. People are usually so arrogant and self-centered, and think they're the best creatures on the planet. But you don't realize how small you actually are until you face a whale. This could be taken both literally and metaphorically.
Vlad Sicoe Even if we were "the best" creature by some measure it doesn't mean we shouldn't care about the less "great" creatures. In my opinion human is the greatest masterpiece of evolution on our planet. Look what we have accomplished. But at the same time it definitely doesn't mean we are the only magnicient species on the planet or that we would have right to abuse all the other creatures. I more like to think that us being so intelligent and capable of changing things, we have a great responsibility to look after all the other amazing life forms on our planet, to do our best to live in harmony with them. We are conscious enough to think about such things. Dinosaurs weren't smart enough to feel empathy to other species such as small mammals of the time, but we are. Lets make a good use of our intelligence.

"Filmed on location in Mexico." Just to clarify, this was not filmed in Mexico. It was filmed in shallow waters just off the coast of Oceanside/San Onofre, CA. I know this because I was the captain of the Lois Ann for this multi-day charter and I just want SoCal to get her props. While we did skirt the boarder of MX on the first day. I ultimately found these beautiful critters some 40 or 50 miles north of the boarder on day 2. To our great pleasure, the Blue whales were feeding with Fin-back whales and stayed in this area for the next 3 or 4 days feeding on the ample Krill in those waters at the time. Weather and water conditions remained spectacular, we were quite lucky. I have to admit, this was one of the best charters I've ever run. The Gopro team was just that, "Professional" and always "Goin". My congrats to Brad and his team for getting "The Shot", well done boys and girl! And clearly, Louie is a terrific film maker. I am really glad to have been part of this project and hope ya'll take a minute to see "Racing Extinction" if you get a chance.

I'm only in my 20's and some day I want to be able to swim with these amazing creatures but I'm afraid that when the time comes they are already long gone :(
I see I have had a few comments against my dream and I just want to say I'm not someone who even has an instagram or ignorant about these animals but I have to say that probably my dream never comes true because I really fear open waters and big things in the water make me feel icky, some kind of fobia from childhood but I think you're right it's probably best to leave these animals alone if you're not working with them or study them professionally. I have heard that in some countries they will bring a lot of tourists to see whales and not safely for the animals or even the tourists. So unprofessional and harming. So better to leave them alone than chasing them for an "experience". Many people mean well but doesn't really understand what they are doing, it really doesn't make it ok though.

Wow. When I was in the 6th grade, I did a report on the Blue Whale. What I learned then was so incredible, that it changed my perspective forever. Being able to see these amazing creatures to scale on video is a dream come true. Thank goodness that conservation, environmental science, and wildlife protection are so important to Generations Y and Z, that university degrees in these subjects have become some of the most popular of any. We are successfully teaching the Baby Boomer and X Generations that the choices of individual people truly matter. There absolutely is hope. Look at videos showing how polluted Los Angeles was before environmental protections were implemented. In nearly every major city, one could barely see in front of one's face while outside. The streets, waterways, parks, and highways were absolutely littered with trash. Even in the 90s when I was a kid, I remember how much litter there was along the freeways and in the gutters around Portland, Oregon. Now, it's rare to see ANY trash in these same areas, and people of all generations are speaking up when someone tries to litter or dump illegal waste in the woods. It's not too late for the people and animals of the world, as we work to create safe habitats and road/waterway crossings for endangered species, and conservation jobs for underprivileged communities. We can do this. We already are.
Well, it would be near impossible for anything to be bigger. Blue whales are at their biomechanical and physiological limit. The amount of energy it takes for a blue whale, or something larger, to move or breathe, or eat, or pump blood throughout it's body is on the extreme side of large. There would need to be some kind of limitless energy supply to power a creature that large. Plus, the blue whales heart rate is pretty much at it's maximum even when it isn't doing much. It takes an extreme amount of force and pressure to pump blood through a creature that size. It's highly unlikely that anything could possibly be larger. Not impossible, but next to impossible.
@@apvideos4727 Well the square cube law dictates how large something can get. Basically, if something doubles in size and keeps the same shape, the weight of it will increase by a factor of 3. Eventually something will get so large that it is crushed by its own weight. Blue whales live in water so that is why they can live while being so huge. On land it would be crushed by its own weight. This is why something like Godzilla could never exist. But if you wanna talk biblical stuff, well God can do whatever he wants, so sure, why not Titans.

She's so beautiful...i find myself scrambling for words to describe this gentle giant because of her size, but sadly i'm baffled...if a VIDEO alone gives me goosebumps seeing the size of it, i can't even imagine what it would look like seeing it in person.

this was so beautiful. sometimes I feel like the small steps I take to save the planet doesn't matter at all. but atleast its better than not trying at all.
Thank you so much. This was one experience ( though virtual) that will remain in my heart forever. We have to, all of us, do our bit to save these amazing creatures
These two latest videos were amazing and really beautiful. Hope GoPro will keep this kind of content going :) Great job! And this one definitely gives us the will to create a brighter future and to act for this world not to be poisoined anymore!

I know. I am such a whale fan, I believe these majestic creatures are not entirely different from humans. Killing them is just barbaric.
Jay P That we know, at least. We have explored very little of the ocean so who knows if there's an even bigger creature.

It's going to be 5 years this November when this inspiring homage was released. I don't have any hopes on us to conserve this enigmatic world we call our home.
It’s amazing how lil we know about the blue whale , for such an incredible and beautiful creature !! Breathtaking .
saddest part is that we could've known so much more.
That was incredible.
Favorite video ever. I come back to watch every couple of weeks to give myself some perspective. . . Thanks all.
I tell myself I'm not going to cry, but 13:13 hits me EVERY time ❤️
Thank you God the creator of the cosmos for designing these beautiful creatures , you are truly an amazing designer in Jesus name Amen
Amen
Amen!
She's so beautiful...i find myself scrambling for words to describe this gentle giant because of her size, but sadly i'm baffled...if a VIDEO alone gives me goosebumps seeing the size of it, i can't even imagine what it would look like seeing it in person.
I can't even imagine how they felt facing this beautiful moment
I cried. This is so beautiful and so sad at the same time. Anybody who denies global warming should be chained down and forced to watch films like this one. What a majestic, beautiful creature....
Most fantastic animal ever created, i love blue whales. thank u guys for sharing this experience.
this was so beautiful. sometimes I feel like the small steps I take to save the planet doesn't matter at all. but atleast its better than not trying at all.
I am so glad someone is finally going for this shot. I've been waiting since I was 6yrs old to see a live human next to a blue whale to scale.
For the people who disliked this amazing video they are messed up
I would say this made me cry manly tears but I can assure you they were anything but manly.
Tears for these creatures only makes us human... Be it man or woman.
Mainly man tears
What does that even mean
This is an advertisement?
Felt like a movie
So peaceful this video is. Cured my anxiety
Thanks who film this video, i can't have the professional of diving , thank you that we can see the beautiful creatures under the ocean!!!!!
That ain't a whale, that's a planet. What a great clip tbh.
ANIMALS ARE AWESOME. SAVE EARTH!
one of the best videos I've ever seen...and one the best yt video ever made
Thank you so much. This was one experience ( though virtual) that will remain in my heart forever. We have to, all of us, do our bit to save these amazing creatures
People like this give my hope. We are not alone. ❤️
15:00 "if we all lose hope, there is no hope" srsly?
+KALynge What's the best way not to lose hope? Answer: don't lose hope
+KALynge First use is a verb, second is the noun
People die when their killed.
How would you know?
+MacGuffinSC Every time someone writes "their" instead of "they're", a cute kitten dies.
Butt- propellers are so stylish
that thing is dope no joke
its called a scooter
Omair Ashroff
It's still a butt propeller.
its actually called a jumbo vibrator
@@ooDirtyMickoo the hell man bunch of dildos popped up in my screen
These two latest videos were amazing and really beautiful. Hope GoPro will keep this kind of content going :) Great job!
And this one definitely gives us the will to create a brighter future and to act for this world not to be poisoined anymore!
That could not have been filmed any better, my goodness. You even got it when it's mouth was full, making it even bigger!
Then you swam up level to it's eye and filmed it staring at you?? Then diving?!?
100 thumbs up, outstanding job people
Biggest creature ever. So cool to be on same planet with them.
awesome video worth all 16 minutes! wish this message can reach everyone!
Think about all the undiscovered creatures that we've caused to go extinct
His first words when he reached the surface was “God”
it was not him thanking god for letting him see the whale, but him telling everyone that he just saw a god
@@pluggothesluggo5509 blue whales are gods??
@@squigglywiggly6855 they might not be, but they give of the same vibes
Just made me so emotional. We r fortunate to have these incredible creatures on our planet
No matter when and where, it's always a blessing to see the lovely Jane Goodall. We have yet so much to learn from you..
