      @@troll-fx2zc It's the coach's fault. The guy helping was doing the resetting after 1 just like the previous lifts and he is not in the core team so can't be at fault. The coach has bad communication and made multiple mistakes. He didn't prep the team properly. He then shouted "last one" before the lift which easily could be taken as one rep. Then panicked and shouted to release the bar in an unsafe manner which spooked both thor and the helper. Thor had to ask for the helper to reset.
      100% on the coach

      I take that was 2018? It is generally the consensus however that Thor was at his strongest(statically) at 2020, where he didn’t win as much as 2018

    • @demetriuscooksey7147
      @demetriuscooksey7147 2 місяці тому +2

      @larrytate1657 Quite possibly, but it's debatable. I don't think he'd won 5 WSM titles if IFSA hadn't been around during his streak. Much of his top competition was over there competing instead of at World's. Big Z takes the title of the GOAT in the sport of Strongman. He's by far the most decorated.

    Great job Thor! Brian, Thor and Kaz are my all time favorite strongmen.
    I love the fact that Brian always makes the machines and implements interesting and different... some people don't like implements but I think they forget that strongman and powerlifting are two different sports. I love the old cartoonish looking barbells, dumbells, axles and squat nachines.... and Thor is really good at lifting those big implements.

    Another great video with Sebastian. No need to keep explaining the misunderstanding about your reps brother. I appreciate that you stuck with what you had in your own mind about what you wanted to do. Sebastian is a great coach who is smart enough to listen to his clients. Plus your one - 400kg. rep was awesome (you could have done a few more no problem) Do not push it to much before the SMOE show (please God NO injuries). I also love how Sebastian shared personal details about Brian and how he might be building said squat implement. I also like you two went back and forth about all the minutia of the contest. The thought you both are putting into the individual events and how Brian is building the contest is super smart and just might make the difference between winning and not winning. Forget the podium brother Hathor, you can win this and show the world (especially with that best of best line-up) who the King is period!

    If it happened to me, I would have been infuriated, but the way Hafthor stayed calm and composed, and at the end taking accountability when it was not a strength issue, but a communication failure is truly admirable. I guess that's why I'm just me and Hafthor is Hafthor. Thank you Sir for teaching me a valuable lesson.
    400 triple would have been the cherry on top but 325 for 8 *(paused)* was equally impressive. It was very well executed and probably equivalent to 20 more kilo's without the incorporation of a pause. Good old rear static holds have done wonders to Hafthor over all these years and it will definitely come into play at the power medley.
    Koma svo King Hafthor!! It is still yours, you got this! 💪🏻👑❤️

    I'm wondering which strongman can squat 320 Kg x 8 paused at this day. Probably only Mitch Hooper, Hickx, Thompson and maybe 2-3 more

    Training for strength is interesting. Low reps with 10 minutes rest. So different than hypertrophy training

      Every second week is a lighter week. That's how Oreb likes to manage Thors fatigue. No real buildup, no real deload
