I admire your courage when you asked to step into the little restaurant. It seems they were fine with it at first but then changed their mind. Oh well! You were very polite and asked permission first. No harm no foul as far as I can see.
The 14mm f/1.8 is probably my favorite lens for street, paired with the 50mm 1.2 usually; Difficult to use, but gives some really interesting results when you find a neat composition. Awesome work.
Welcome to Taiwan!! I hope you enjoy the trip. The food stalls that you walked into to take photos actually regretted it when you did, but they didn't get angry, don't worry. They just thought it would be uncomfortable to have someone standing next to their working space.
ultra wide street photo is on my list for next winter
Hi Pierre, love the variety you present on your channel, it was good that you tried a different Focal length. You still enjoyed the day of photography in Taiwan, and it showed that you enjoyed your experience their. The weather was nice, the food was nice, and i really liked the Preset you used the HURRICANE RIDGE 01 it brightened the photo just right not overdone. Gnarly video thanks. 😊
Thanks Pierre 😊
Thank you for taking me back to Taipei. I miss Taiwan so much.
I think it's really hard to get a good photo with such a wide lens. I think it's better suited for indoor spaces, landscapes or the 90's skate park vibe. Good to try something new though and challenge yourself. 👍
At 19:15 minutes in the video, you need to use mobile phone translation to reduce unnecessary errors.
It's a special lens! Good job Pierre! Love your pics!
I feel like 14mm is not suited for street photography but landscape, astro, architecture and indoor photography. Probably gonna buy this one for these exact purposes :) Always a pleasure to watch you find pics. Thank you, Pierre!
I find the 14mm is best for landscapes and being inside places.
If you're taking photos of people with this lens I find it looks better if the camera is the same height as their head or chest and try not to introduce too much tilt. The perspective is the hardest thing to figure out with this lens, but once you get used to it, the images look amazing. You just have to embrace the quirkiness of UWA.
I live in Taipei and certainly is not the easiest to take street photos at the area you were in. However, it's cool to see you made the best out of it.
The club event is nice to have this lens
Hello, presets are very expensive in Turkish money, I can't buy it, can you help me?
I find it difficult to take photos in cloudy weather. Can you make a video about that?
what are the stripes on the camera screen?
Amazing work ❤
Love this SONY GM 14MM 1.8
Which setup would you recommend me to pair with Sony A7RV + Tamron 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 if I will use it/them mainly for ultrawide and everyday photos with crop, video will be shoot mainly with Panasonic HC-X1500 25-600mm?:
1) Sony 12-24mm F4
2) Tamron 17-50mm F4
3) Laowa 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 + 17-50mm
First cover more range but not sure if they will update this 6 years old lens soon, second is the same Tamron series but cover less range, third get even wider range but will be 3 lenses, what do you think?
If it were me I'd go the 17-50, assuming that's a full frame camera. 17 is already pretty wide and it's more useful to cover the range up to 50 than to go even wider IMO. But I'm far from an expert lol
Greetings from Russia! Thanks for your content, it helped a lot)
I often se my Sony 14mm 1.8 GM Lens for street/urban photography (and nature/Landscapes), it is a great Lens and very good when you are in tight areas and want a lot in the shot. But I do not understand why you shoot so many vertical images !!!
À 14mm ça devient autant de la photo d'architecture que de la photo de rue !
Wellcome to Taipei😊
WELCOME!!! to my country

8th Hey which camera would be the best to start with Sony a6400 or the Sony a7 IIK?
Would depend on budget more than anything, you can get the 6400 for a decent price and use the extra to invest in good glass and move to full frame down the road. Perks of Sony is same mount across the board.
If you have the cash to go big right away then you can go full frame but as a starting place I’d suggest the cheaper body and the best glass you can get. If you buy the best camera but stick junk lenses on you’ll lose interest quickly.
Lenses hold value and bodies change often so a used or older body and good lenses to learn is usually best unless money doesn’t matter
@@Hangiinjohnny Thanks most likely going to get the a6400 for now and in like 2 - 3 months depending if I still want The other camera ill Get that and keep the a6400 for a back up
welcome to taiwan ❤
Difficult shoot man! Tough
What district is this?
Taipei station :)
Taipei 101?
It’s not 101
If your challenge is open... I'm happy to take my 8-16mm out and do a session shooting no higher than 14mm!
That lens is SO wide, you have to be in their faces to get good people shots :( I would be nervous too
Welcome to Taiwan!
Location favorit foto in taiwan
I'm only a Mandarin beginner but I think you need to take more care with your tones. Like, you can still speak quickly and casually but be careful not to apply English inflections. For instance, when you said 謝謝 (xièxie), you said it like you would say "thank you!" in English in the same situation. Which is honestly fine because they could see you weren't a local and probably got what you were trying to say... But it still may have come across a little confusingly.
Oh thanks for the tip! I'll dig more into the tones :)

I have got panasonic lumix fz48
Welcome Taiwan.
unlike japan, kinda nothing to shoot in taipei tho
Tu es à Taipei ? Sympa cette vidéo POV, j'adore cette contrainte des 24 photos, ca me donne envie de l'essayer. Dis moi si tu viens vers Shanghai ! Profites bien. ++ Matt
Fun vid, as usual. Beautiful lens. But the 24 limit is so arbitrary. As a former film shooter, digital is a blessing.
14GM for food photography?
Limited photos?!?
It's a choice to help with creativity, limit yourself to the number of photos in a roll of film (which was commonly 36 or 24)
Pierre, thank you for the video. Having a Taiwanese Wife I frequent Taipei many of times and the street photography is amazing! I've been looking at this lens for a while now, hopefully I get to play with it next time I'm in Taiwan.
When I'm doing photography, my normal limit is 1 shot per subject (sometimes stretched to 2 or 3 if the subject is particularly interesting). I find that to be more useful than 36 total shots. It's also WAY more fun and interesting when you get back to the computer and you don't have to scroll through a dozen shots of the same thing.
assembly steps sel1635gm ranking back washer?? replacement
The only thing I don’t like about Taipei? The flight from Chicago! (Never doing that coach again!) lovely people and city.
Nice another new video to watch 😀😁. cannot wait to take photos again
Burst counts - turn off bursting if u don’t want to count it! 😂
these were nice, even the last ones with the bag swing.
First!
