Honestly, I would definitely love a remake, but take into account fan criticisms of P3R like the cutscene direction and what you said about tone and atmosphere. What P3R did super well to me was bring the social links to life with voice acting It's well as fill in the gaps for plot beats that were more ambiguous. I also appreciated how they went out of their way to increase all the party members' viability and better defined their roles in combat. I mean, the remake hasn't even been announced and I have fan theories about party members personality traits and theurgies would be like. I have a feeling they are going to build upon the team attacks and create more, akin to Showtime attacks in P5R, but in this case provide added effects. I could totally see Yosuke and Yukiko having a team attack that adds evasion and regeneration, or one between Chie and Kanji that has a party wide power charge, or a move between Yukiko and Teddy that does a party-wide concentrate. I'm already fanboying 😅
YES, I tried p4g because people were praising it like crazy but I dropped it because the controls are clunky and the game just looks bad imo, a remake would do so much for the game
i so agree with the voice acting thing - not only that, but also the sprites. reload is absolutely gorgeous but i personally think it also saw the loss of a lot of personality in the character sprites and as an adachi fan i don't know if a remake will do him justice. jyb already does an incredible job voice wise too and i do hope they bring him back like they did with elizabeth's va in reload because i cannot think of anyone who'd voice him as well
I played P4 early this year and it changed my live. I would love to see a remake of my favorite persona geme with modern mecanics like botton pass or the changes to social links.
I think it does eventually, and sooner rather than later, but not immediately. Let P6 release, see what features/improvements work or don't from that, and incorporate that into P4R
I love persona 4 it was my first game in the franchise and I have replayed it twice now it’s one of my favourite games of all time and if it were remade it would be my dream remake. I just wish when I played it for the first time I wasn’t spoiled on some of the big plot twists as even though they still hit decently hard it wasn’t that completely unexpected moment that comes out of no where.
I hope so because a lot of the sauce was taken out of 4 in Golden, but it's still fantastic. If they do a remake I straight up only want it for the menus & better fog lmao. It'd be great to re-experience the best persona game!
Is Persona 4 getting a remake? Yeah it is going to get one simply because P3R made so much money and they already know P4G is one of the most popular games, there’s a reason it was one of the first mainline persona games to be available on all platforms when they remastered Golden. Golden on its own is amazing probably just need the P5R quality of life changes. Rebalancing the cast, giving them more skills, adding persona traits/characteristics. Making those duo attacks work more like showtime because showtime was definitely inspired by it, plus they can add more duo attacks. Adding baton pass to really make it a Persona staple mechanic. Rework the story abit to make the Golden additions fit better , I am only taking about Marie because I personally feel like she was force in the game while all of the new scenes, the Adachi social link, snow trip and everything. Hell I would be happy if they introduced Marie as a party member since she does have her own Persona probably will make people like her more even if it’s only at the end of the game like with Kasumi in P5R. I think Reload showed that Atlas knows how to make a remake because they took everything from base P3, P3FES and P3P and were able to make them all fit into one game while adding more things, adding The Answer and the only thing they missed was FeMC because it would take them a long time to do that. I personally think that P4G just needs a face lift, better UI because I think that UI is very bland. I would like to mention I have no nostalgia for P4 because my first entry was P5 and only played P4 when it came out on Steam. I personally wouldn’t mind if they got a new voice cast, it would probably be expensive to get those same guys because now a lot of them are big name voice actors like Yuri Lowental, Sam Riegal, Troy Baker, Johnny Young Bosh. It would cost a lot to have them be the main voices again especially JYB because he would have to play Narukami, Adachi and Izangi again. I wouldn’t mind seeing what they did in Reload with new VAs while the old VAs are still there but now are the NPCs, it would be cheaper especially since if they do the same thing they did in Reload bascially everything is going to be voiced, there is very little reading to do in P3R. I do hope that we get a Persona 1 and Persona 2 remake in the future so the series isn’t just 3 games. I know it would be more work since P1,P2, P2: Enteral Punishment have completely different mechanics to modern Persona which started with P3 so not sure how well people would like those mechanics or if it would really hard to try and turn those games more into a modern Persona game with social links and the battle mechanics of P3R. It would be very hard because those main cast were able to use multiple Personas unlike other main cast where it’s only the main character. I would hope that’s the plan but it seems like it’s going to be Persona 4 because that is where the money is because P4 was milked so hard until P5 came out
Before watching I've said this on other videos but my take is that both 4 and 1-2 deserve the remake but that 4 will likely come first. 4 reuses a lot of stuff from 3 so since they have reload out they can make a remake of 4 more easily than they can one of 1-2 which would need a bigger amount of time and effort to get done.
Compared to P3, P4 isn't as drastically different to P5, so unless the graphics comepletely fail to capture the atmosphere of Inaba, I think a P4 remake has a good chance of being better received
I played Persona 4 Golden after P5R and I loved that the graphics were as outdated as they are. I was burnt out of P5R because I wanted to do everything right and use my time as efficiently as possible. Personally, P4G with its graphics made it "feel" less serious and I was able to lean back while playing. Throught this approach, I was captivated by the suprising depth of characters and story that I now hold P4G as my favorite game of all time.
Yes but I think Persona 1 and 2 should have a remake then Persona 4 remake I'm kinda sorta crossing my fingers for a possible DLC that could maybe have a female protagonist for the remake of 4 again as a DLC port
As someone who’s played every mainline Persona game, I’d argue that 1 and the 2 duology need a remake/remaster first. These games have fantastic stories but are marred by inaccessibility and really shitty gameplay that can be fixed with a modern port. I hope they keep the same gameplay style but change things like the encounter rate and the fusion system and you already have an improved game. P4 definitely would shine from a remake but it doesn’t NEED one like the PS1 games do.
I would rather a new game than another remake right now - it's still accessible on modern systems, and isn't fragmented with a lackluster experience available easily (the P3P port - I don't know why they didn't just port FES). I wouldn't be opposed after P6 is finished, but I'd rather see 1 and 2 made more accessible without old hardware or emulation.
I agree 100%! At the end of the video I said roughly the same. I’d prefer to see 1 and 2 be remade first but wouldn’t be against and P4 remake. I was really hoping to see P6 last night at TGA but it may be further in 2026 I fear
Money, that's the reason we're getting a remake, at the end of the day atlus is a company and a company wants your money, and P3 reload sold 1 million copies in a week, the original P4 was literally a ROM hack from P3, so they can use almost all assets and mechanics from 3 reload and P5 royal and probably even from P6, so the development costs will be super low, so this is even more easy money than 3 reload
Rather they just do Persona 1 and 2 remake tbh. Those games would benefit from a fresh coat of paint, new voice overs, and a rehauled battle system much more. I don't think it's feasible to Frankenstein the calendar system from the modern Persona games onto those older titles, but I think it should be feasible to add some QoL enhancements and improvements to the battle mechanics such that you end up with a finished product that familiar enough from a gameplay standpoint to be palpable to fans of the modern games while still preserving the strong points of the originals, the story and the characters. And while yes, there is the fear that they could totally screw it up, I think the thrill of how good it could be If they get it right is just too exciting.
This is almost every thing that I said! I really do agree with most of it. As In stated this wasn’t a big deal until P3R. I would not decline a P4R by any means but would love to see P1 and P2 or P6 first!
Ngl, just because I want P1 and P2 to get a remake doesn’t mean that I don’t want P4 to get one. P1 and P2 remakes before P4 makes sense because P1 and P2 doesn’t have a true definitive way to play the games. It’s criminal that the only systems to play them on are the PS1 and PSP. And both of them aren’t even ported to modern consoles. I’m saying that the HD remaster of P4G looks decent enough to survive a few more years. (P.S. I’m tired of people calling the PSP versions of P1 and P2 remakes. They are remasters.)
@@PKChase559 I completely agree! I would love all three to be remade! It’s one of those things that would be such a welcomed addition and I would love to see the series with a fresh start
It's always depressing as a concept to see people clamor for remakes in perfectly playable games. As much as I feel like Silent Hill 2 didn't need a remake, at least it had tank controls, which (unfortunately) stop a lot of people from bothering with it. The fact that people will look at a franchise they love or developers they adore and go "Man oh man I sure hope they spend years remaking a game that's already fantastic instead of just working on a new entry in the franchise or a new IP," confuses me to no end. Its still pretty, the story is still good, the gameplay is fundamentally sound if a little slow by modern standards. Why spend millions over the course of years shackling a dev team most agree is absurdly stacked with talent to remake an already great game that's already available on modern platforms? The opportunity cost is impossible for me to ignore. No matter how goo P3R is I will always lament that it exists because FES is still so damn good. None of this is to diss you or try to sound super angry or anything. I'm just tired of all the remakes we've been getting. Even when they're exceptional like Resident Evil 2 or 4 I still lament their existence because the originals are still brilliant. I'm eternally appreciative that I've never fully lost my ability to play older games regardless of how dated they may look or play because I find so much charm, uniqueness and sometimes even advantages to the way older games operate. Not saying you can't, just kind of speaking broadly as it makes me sad seeing so many gamers both young and old just reject anything that doesn't have modern production values or isn't older smothered in QoL changes that are just taken for grantes as strict improvements (thats a whole other topic tho lol). The only thing that truly "needs" any level of improvement for P4G are the dungeon designs, just like you said. Do I want years of dev time from a talented studio just for that, though? It certainly isn't ideal to me.
Ultimately I just wish that modernization wasn't the goal of everything. Not everything changed/removed from P3 was a strict improvement and a lot of really unique or interesting systems were just done away with or altered purely to fit modern sensibilities. That's fine ultimately amd both FES and Reload are fantastic and worth people's time, but now all of the unique flourishes of the original will be lost to time as few will ever bother not just playing the new one, understandably. Just want people to be more open or accepting of what they few as dated or jank design. Wish everyone was able to view things as timeless, rather than looking as aspects of older games as dated pieces of art with things that could be changed 100% for the better. Anyways I apologize for the rambling, its a topic I'm passionate about. Your video was wonderful! P4 remake is inevitable and while I've never been a big fan (actually just started my 3rd attempt at a playthrough a couple days ago on my Vita) I'm sure it'll be delightful when it does happen. At least unlike P3FES the original P4G will always be available on modern systems so in terms of preservation, it is ideal! That's really all I can ask for c:
Look, the answer IS yes. If you aren’t a hardcore fan, don’t care for the gameplay, then no, and YES 1 and IS need one more, but P4G has worse gameplay than even P3 on release. Weird insane difficulty spikes, the worst skill balancing they have EVER made, even post P3R and Metaphor, some of the worst ATLUS dungeons ever (that’s saying something), TERRIBLE skill card system, it just DOES need a remake, and people saying it doesn’t clearly have only ran through the game once or twice, it needs one more than P3P ever did.
Yo am late but I need u to hear me out so listen everyone so we all know how persona 4&5 "idk about the answer" but how those 2 games people had to wait 1 or 2 years to get the full games and what I mean by that is golden and Royal so hear me out on this if they are planning to do the same with persona 6 then why not remake Persona 4,2&1 or put persona 1&2 on modern consoles with better graphics and new mechanics like they did P3P and just remake 4 to "save time" if they want idk but all I know is when persona 6 comes out and 2 years or so go by and they make a Royal version of the game am crashing out and I don't want that I rather ATLUS remake all 3 games or do a P3P with persona 1&2 and remake 4 like they did P3R and then get a have assed persona 6 IDC what game get a remake or not all I know is I don't want a "Royal" version of persona 6 1 or 2 years later but instead they make the FULL GAME. ( Did I cook or no and I understand if I didn't but all I know is am not trying to get a half a game but then later we have to buy the same game AGAIN to get the full story am too broke for that bull) "make ur next video about this if u think I cooked and I understand if anyone have a problem with what I said"
I think there are somethings that Persona 4 can benefit from than just the graphics! The dungeons can be much better, better social links, just a lot of qol
persona 4 was on the ps2 too? and the psvita used the same models I think and fun fact persona 4 goldens assets are lower quality then the og persona 4s the og persona 4 has higher quality assets
Absolutely not. Too many pointless remakes wasting resources and originality in the games industry. Persona 3 didn't need a remake. Even Persona 1 and 2 don't need remakes, just ports. Remake-culture is a classic case of gamers self-sabotaging an entire art form.
I don’t agree at all. I think that remakes are an amazing way to get amazing games back into the spot light. Persona 3 did need an remake. The gameplay had so many flaws and such an outdated game design. Yet one of the best JRPG stories of all time. Reload was the next best thing and is the best way to experience Persona 3… ports are useless if the gameplay isn’t going to captivate anyone.
@@SagaXL I politely disagree. The quality of a game, or any piece of media, should not be tied to how popular or recognised it is. Everything is going to fall out of the spotlight eventually. The only difference is that Persona 4 is still very popular, and it doesn't need to be topping Steam charts to prove that. If we, as gamers, want games to be treated like art, we can't keep self-sabotaging. We can't invalidate the games of the past simply because they're a bit janky or the graphics aren't as polished. By demanding that already incredible games should be remade, we invalidate artistic intention, and we become nothing better than consumers who want the new shiny toy. You can keep the legacy of Persona 4, or any game, film, or book, alive by continuing to talk about, analyse, or recommend it to people. The Internet has all the tools for that. We don't need to tarnish its legacy, which we supposedly care so much about, by sacrificing it to corporations and shareholders. If somebody doesn't want to play a fantastic game simply because it's a bit outdated, then we don't want them. Instead, we'll find someone who appreciates it for what it is. I'd rather have ten real fans than ten-thousand who come and go.

This is almost every thing that I said! I really do agree with most of it. As In stated this wasn’t a big deal until P3R. I would not decline a P4R by any means but would love to see P1 and P2 or P6 first!
Yes
No I want to see new things instead of retreading old ground on games that are still completely fine to play still
I understand that! I think bringing classic game into a more modern light… It’s never a bad thing. I do really want Persona 6 though
I just want a new persona, the remakes aren't gonna do it for me
To be fair is the persona fanbase mature enough for a P4 remake?
Imagine if we get a Persona 4 Remake and they bring in the cut Yosuke romance. Probably unlikely, but that would be phenomenal.
@@SomniaCE I’ll write you a good response once I’m outta work today!
Slow down, mate, we don't even have P2 on modern platforms.
They did 3 as before lol. Listen to the end of my video
Nah, but I'd play it if it did happen
No. The end.
I’m glad to see where you stand lol
( Did I cook or no and I understand if I didn't but all I know is am not trying to get a half a game but then later we have to buy the same game AGAIN to get the full story am too broke for that bull) "make ur next video about this if u think I cooked and I understand if anyone have a problem with what I said"
I didn't like Persona 4 Golden that much. Maybe a remake could make me like the game depending on what they change.
@@s-wo8781 I really think for people who didn’t enjoy it, I think a fresh coat of paint could make it a top tier Persona
No more demakes
There hasn’t been a single demake yet lol. Reload is the best way to experience Persona 3 and I’ll stand by that
No.
Remake 2.
@@STOPPEDINCOLORADO No.
Remake 1.
@ Yes.
Remake 1.
No, it got Golden on PC and its not like P3 where the game had old ugly ps2 or WORSE graphics in P3P case.
No, 4 is fine. People are just graphics snobs
No
Absolutely not.
