For Jrue to be kicked out of Milwaukee for being the weakest link in their big 3, to playing a pivotal role in Boston's championship run would be a wonderful FU to Giannis. All the best to Jrue Holiday

The problem is people keep calling tatum a superstar when he’s really a tier below that so when he doesn’t play like a superstar people get worked up. But also scoring 18 points while shooting 6/22 is not good, if it weren’t for jrue holiday the celtics would have lost this game. Can’t just look at the dry stats, the context also matters and tatum was probably the 4th best player on the celtics tonight

Creating good offense for his teammates absolutely. Impressively so. Not so much for himself, but tbh it’s more important that the ball gets spread around. Obv you’d like Tatum to shoot better, but man if they can continue to all defend, all be in double figures, it looks good. DAL isn’t good enough. They’ll need some hot shooting nights to win any games…if it’s even close from 3 ball they have no shot.

It kind of depends how you view JT, if you say he is MVP candidate then no he isn't having a good series man is shooting 12/38 that ain't good at all and also if you look at the moments that killed dallas it was never JT it was Pritchard 3 at the end of 3rd it D White 3's and that block on PJ it was KP crazy rim protection it was JB deciding the games with few big buckets at the end and of course tonight Jrue with his crazy defense and superb shooting. Now if you see JT as an all star guy like top 15 in the league then yeah he is doing good with his defense and finding ways to somewhat mitigate his bad shooting with his playmaking but i wanna say he is top 10 and top 10 guys would never have this type of shotting splits and overall impact being called great.

Only time I saw him make a move off ball he blew by JB because JB didn't even expect Luka to do anything besides wait to get ball on 3pt line and then shot classic stepback . It's all about how Dallas is not playing well. There is a good reason: The Celtics are playing Defense like we haven't seen in a long time.
Also Mr. Jason Timpf, the Celtics are UNDEFEATED on the road in this year's playoffs.
Luka's offense is out of this world, and he had 2 Triple doubles vs the Celtics when they lost twice to them (119-110 and 138-110).
The Mavericks have lost 4 straight this year to the Celtics by an average of 15.5 points (3 of the losses were after their season-changing trade).

Not only was the east weaker than the west, but so many eastern teams suffered injuries that the Celtics would’ve never faced any real competition. Because of the injuries.
Then you have a team that will probably be a dynasty in the Nuggets getting knocked off by a team that was specifically put together with them. The nuggets could’ve given the Celtics huge problems!

Tatum leads the Celtics in PPG, APG, and RPG for the post season. He’s not shooting well, easy to see, but he’s doing so much more for the Celtics. He defended centers and Luka and got a steal off kyrie in an iso defensive spot. Tatum also consistently gets the ball late in the shot clock and is expected to get a great shot off which just isn’t gonna happen when there’s 4 ticks left on the shot clock. Maybe he gets a neutral shot, but it still won’t be a ‘great’ look.

They also got two 1sts in that trade. Pick 25 and then that GSW FRP which ended up being P14. They moved down from 25 multiple times and turned it in to a billion 2nds. But getting that pick was huge, it had high upside as a very lightly protected GSW 1st. Also yea Smart won DPOY, but it’s not like he was the clear runaway winner. 2 other guys on BOS could’ve won it easily.
No shade to Smart, he’s really carved out an amazing career for himself. But BOS saw that he was starting to regress, he’s never been a good 3P shooter, and BOS wanted more floor spacing.
MEM made a bad trade. They really fumbled the bag by not making a bigger move last offseason or the one before when they had multiple extra picks in each one. They really needed a 3&D F, they tried to get OG but he apparently wasn’t gettable for just picks. They needed to find a guy though. Mikal maybe, someone who was a 37%+ 3P shooter on decent volume that’s 6’5-6’6 to 6’9, and could defend 1-3 or 2-4. Smart just wasn’t the right fit IMO.
They should’ve just kept Melton and went out and got that 3&D F. Even a lower end one until they could make a bigger move. A Nesmith type, someone like that would’ve been fine if the market just wasn’t there.
But ya I mean the reason it’s a steal is they identified they needed to move off of Smart. If they would’ve waited until the deadline or next off-season his value would’ve taken a monster hit. It’s always better to move off of someone too soon than too late. Kinda like MEM not trading Dillon Brooks, could’ve attached a pick or two to him prior and upgraded but they let him walk for nada.
I like Memphis a lot, they have a good FO, I like their HC. But they made a few mistakes. The Ziaire Williams move up, not having a C now, not moving for a Brooks replacement when they had the chance, and the Smart deal. They traded Melton for a pick in the late 20s and I thought that was p crazy.

Just imagine if Celtics had gotten Dame instead of Jrue.Perhaps Celtics make that trade this off-season.
