The “dollar being the strongest it’s ever been” is insane given the high inflation in the US and Europe. And his point about Europe is 2 years too late - there was a brief moment in early to mid 2022 when the Euro collapsed relative to the dollar, but now it has recovered and things are very expensive in Europe also.
But they talk more politics than sports and tell the listener how great the economy is right now when everything we purchase is 40% more than what it was 5 years ago. Hard to take these two seriously.
This is great material for the Brock Purdy documentary. I understand the hate though, imagine hitching your wagon to Baker Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence😂
Great point about Clark being white. She's facing the Larry Bird idea that white athletes cannot compete with black athletes. That is true in many cases, but there are outliers. Clark and Bird in basketball, Tiger in golf, Dat Nguyen in football. A great player is a great player.

But he does get salty about being the villain. He wants to be loved like Federer. He will of course hold most of the tennis records for the men's game, so he can always knock his critics back.
He’s never wanted to be the villain, that’s the difference. Novak has always tried to be as loved as Fed and Rafa, and it’ll never happen (to THAT level).
Colin and Nick are great sportscasters. They really are. But they are very wealthy men by comparison to most people, and coastal elites. They are of course entitled to their political opinions just like anyone else, but they really don't understand what it's like for a lot of their fellow countrymen (and women) who struggle to get by, and not through lack of effort and hard work by those people. I just wish they'd keep their commentary to sports. The nation is as divided as it has been for a long while, and most of us just want to enjoy a ball game and have pointless arguments about which QB is better etc etc. Politics doesn't have to be discussed in every medium. This is a sports podcast. Stick to talking about sports. If you want to talk about politics be my guest, but don't do it on a sports podcast please.
The same people saying Colin & Nick are out of touch for talking about the economy are the same people who say "The economy under Trump was great" (even though he inherited that economy from Obama) MAGA truly revealing themselves in the comments. Great show guys!
Y'all need to do a full on fantasy draft. 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 LT, 1 Edge, 2 CBs, 1 LB, and 1 Safety. It may take 30-40min but I believe most of us have the attention span for it 😅
Nobody is really that informed. We all just see politics based on where we are in life and the values that are important to us right now. We all have our own lens.
You dudes need to chill… Colin has every right to talk politics on his OWN podcasts ffs. I dont always agree with him but I still have an open mind and can see his perspective as well.
And nobody in the sports media has actually talked about the basketball in the WNBA. It's all drama about the fouls on Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese getting ejected lol. It's a soap opera.
It's nice to see a big time sports commentator peoperly informed and helping sports fans be properly informed. Unlike stephen A smith. That brotha is severly misinformed.

And my apartment is quite modest, my partner and I split rent. Inflation has been absolutely devestating. The housing market is so corporatelly controlled at this point with no help in sight from congress to incentivize new construction that most of us must grapple with the idea that we might never get into a decent home.
Don’t let the politics at the beginning distract you from the fact that Nick wright just said he’d take Caleb Williams as the no 3 overall pick in a qb draft and remember that anytime he claims to be a cogent analyst
Nick ! The problem is NOT how you are treating Brock Purdy. The problem is that if you remove Purdy on the back of his jersey, same plays, let the same stats and you just write Trey Lance instead... you would be praising the guy! That s bias.
But he didn't really embrace it though right? He just ignored everybody and kept doing his thing. I don't think being unapologetic is the same as being a villain. The bad blood with Pete Rose was a little different. Same with Macguire, but then he went ahead and owned up to it anyways lol

I’m glad the comments are finally saying what I’ve been saying for weeks every time these guys talk politics, economy, inflation, etc.
This was a fantastic episode.
@nickwright The guy who started US Steel is named Carnegie. As in CARNEGIE hall. You lived in New York half a decade man be better lol
Banger
Love when these guys get together.
Great pod great duo 💯
best hour in sports talk when colin has nick on once a week
But they talk more politics than sports and tell the listener how great the economy is right now when everything we purchase is 40% more than what it was 5 years ago. Hard to take these two seriously.
5 seconds into the podcast
No one:
Nick Wright: Can I say something?
This is great material for the Brock Purdy documentary. I understand the hate though, imagine hitching your wagon to Baker Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence😂
Great point about Clark being white. She's facing the Larry Bird idea that white athletes cannot compete with black athletes. That is true in many cases, but there are outliers. Clark and Bird in basketball, Tiger in golf, Dat Nguyen in football. A great player is a great player.
Yall are friggin crazy. As a single parent trying to raise my daughter by myself-- i work two jobs, and spend only on basic necessities and very few luxuries, and its damn near impossible to save any money up. Enjoy your lifestyles and paychecks fellas
You're doing what you can. Nobody said nobody is struggling. Colin specifically has said he's not saying that.
Do you acknowledge that there is population-level data out there and that we should make public policy based on valid data?
Regan did a lot of terrible things lol
So did Obama. Not sure about those 2 picks lol
Nothing good for people of
Color that’s a crazy take for Colin
They all have
@@zippy4greenObama didn't do a lot to hurt lol. He just didn't do much
@@djknight8167 killed the most people using carpet bombings and drone strikes. But ok.
Absolutely brutal episode
Djokovic seems to have embraced a long-term villain role and he has won 24 grand slams so far
But he does get salty about being the villain. He wants to be loved like Federer. He will of course hold most of the tennis records for the men's game, so he can always knock his critics back.
He desperately wants to be loved. I am a huge fan of the guy and that’s clear as day.
He’s never wanted to be the villain, that’s the difference. Novak has always tried to be as loved as Fed and Rafa, and it’ll never happen (to THAT level).
I knew they couldnt do a podcast wothout rodgers talk haha
Bro KD loved being the villain lol. Talked shit to a 12 year old in twitter then dropped 40 on 15 shots😂
Purdy is not a top 16 QB. Confirmed
Need these 2 once a week
Stay away from politics!
Thankfully these guys are objective. So glad to see purdy not in the top 16
The same people saying Colin & Nick are out of touch for talking about the economy are the same people who say "The economy under Trump was great" (even though he inherited that economy from Obama)
MAGA truly revealing themselves in the comments. Great show guys!
Political banter was tone deaf. Shame on you both for not being conscious about your listening audience.
Can’t believe so much politic talk. Like they work for ESPN
Y'all need to do a full on fantasy draft. 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 LT, 1 Edge, 2 CBs, 1 LB, and 1 Safety. It may take 30-40min but I believe most of us have the attention span for it 😅
You guys shouldn’t talk politics, yall are obviously not informed in it
Nobody is really that informed. We all just see politics based on where we are in life and the values that are important to us right now. We all have our own lens.
You dudes need to chill… Colin has every right to talk politics on his OWN podcasts ffs. I dont always agree with him but I still have an open mind and can see his perspective as well.
"I wanna be like Tim Duncan"
-Giannis 🤣
It’s awful how they keep shoving the WHOLE wnba down our necks only care for Clark we don’t care about the wnba still
And nobody in the sports media has actually talked about the basketball in the WNBA. It's all drama about the fouls on Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese getting ejected lol. It's a soap opera.
Tom Brady is like a boring manager. Avoids the problems by being smart so he rarely has to do something impressive to make up for it
It’s actually crazy to me that people have this take. It is a clear contradiction to have the career Brady had and be a boring manager lol.
I am always drinking or high while watching these somehow they always come out on like a Tuesday or Monday night when I am home messed up
Nick looks pretty toasted usually too. Love it
@@themiller-bocks4860 definitely Colin chilled on the drinking a bit but I can tell Colin smokes a little here or there
It's nice to see a big time sports commentator peoperly informed and helping sports fans be properly informed. Unlike stephen A smith. That brotha is severly misinformed.
Whether you agree or not, its refreshing to hear honest takes from their point of view and not narrative garbage.
Nick and Colin, i make 120k at 33 years old which is among the top percentile earners in the country for that age bracket. A large 401k match and maxed our Roth IRA with a modest student loan (yes, with the help of Bidens plan) and i can barely afford a new car without working overtime. And my apartment is quite modest, my partner and I split rent. Inflation has been absolutely devestating. The housing market is so corporatelly controlled at this point with no help in sight from congress to incentivize new construction that most of us must grapple with the idea that we might never get into a decent home.
I’m married with 2 kids, make a similar income, and am in a similar situation.
These guys should stick to sports
Anytime one of these 2 makes a mild coherent point:
Wow, that is so fascinating!
Don’t let the politics at the beginning distract you from the fact that Nick wright just said he’d take Caleb Williams as the no 3 overall pick in a qb draft and remember that anytime he claims to be a cogent analyst
I have no problem w measured, reasonable, social observation. I also enjoy a bit of positivity. Reagan won w it.
Planes are full and Colin is in first class. The economy is great.
To bad the dollar sucks so bad here at home
Have these 2 been inside a grocery store the past year? 😂
They don't care what it costs. If their weekly bill goes up $50, that's just another 3 minutes of work
Nationally syndicated dude in Socal telling the everyman how the world really works😎 Truly an enlightened perspective
Knows more than you
Nick !
The problem is NOT how you are treating Brock Purdy.
The problem is that if you remove Purdy on the back of his jersey, same plays, let the same stats and you just write Trey Lance instead... you would be praising the guy! That s bias.
I love the beginning segment!
Barry Bonds became a perma villain.
But he didn't really embrace it though right? He just ignored everybody and kept doing his thing. I don't think being unapologetic is the same as being a villain. The bad blood with Pete Rose was a little different. Same with Macguire, but then he went ahead and owned up to it anyways lol
Good point fam
13:20 Idk what’s funnier, Colin loving Reagan or Nick not even giving giving a reaction to it😂😂 Nick has bashed Reagan on his pod many times
Reagan and Barack Obama are like the most polar opposite presidents. I was shocked as well.
@@MrEd4win It had nothing to do with policy dude. He was talking about personality. All adults know Reagan and Obama had ZERO in common politically.
@@nickbarcheck1019I wouldn’t say Zero. Barack placated to a lot of the “woke” crowd so to speak and as a libertarian I think he was a bad president but he was pretty much a moderate or “corporate” liberal so to speak. His most leftist policy that he was committed to was Obama care but yal act like he was Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, come on now
@@nickbarcheck1019 yeah, but who judges a president based off of their personality?
I disagree with you guys on Trump and politics, but respect you and love your content.
Sean Avery in the nhl would be the best example of the permanent villain lol
About Caitlyn Clark… It wasn’t just a foul! It was DT sending a message that it’s gonna be different once she gets to the league, all the fouls that happened prior and then THAT foul!
I would say Aaron Hernandez was a successful villain in the NFL
