As long as the video was is how long it took me to do the same install. Props for a great video with great instructions. One of the easiest things I have ever done.
Great video. I purchased a Char Broil grill from Lowes 2 years ago. Luckily I found the manual and did not realize the burner parts are warranted for 5 years!!! I almost ordered replacement burners for over $70. They registered my grill over the phone and only charged me $5 for shipping!!! Not all parts are warranted for the 5 years so call them before you spend money out of pocket, It was definitely worth the call!
Thank You for that, it's a great refresher tutorial rebuild for my two burner Charbroil. It's the same for a four burner. It's the second time around for me, I did it about two years ago and this way I don't have to buy a new one !
This was a great refresher. I bought the same grill 7 years ago from AAFES and put it together from kit form. It has worked great up until now. Upon inspection, the burner tubes and the carry-over tubes needed to be replaced. The carry-over tubes fell apart as I examined them. It's been 7 years since I built this item, what to do next. After reading the manual, ordering the parts, and waiting, I found this video. A great refresher, followed what was shown and everything went together as explained on the first try. The only issue I had was the igniter part was tough to take off, but got it. As retired military, one learns to make do with what is in hand. Of all the youtube videos for replacement, this one I felt was the best. Thank's,
@deependz3231 I make 300 dollars a month from this video and the parts I sell in the description. Apparently, you're the smartest guy here. So the rest of us shut up and learn from each other. Thanks for the comment. 😂
I know how to remove cotter pins but my kit only gave me enough for either the carry-over tubes or the end of the burner where it connects to the box (body of the grill). But they gave me screws and washers 🤷♀
@@kristiG5259Char-Broil made a "Classic" gas grill in 2013 exclusively for Home Depot, which was only offered for that particular year. The grill came with wrap around Stainless Steel rails that could be used for hanging towels or cooking utensils. Instead of the common use of cotter pins, all burners and carry-over tubes were held in place with stainless steel screws and washers. Hope this helps?😆😅🤣😂
Thanks ! I just finished my Char Broil Commercial Series 3 burner grill that was neglected of I don't know how many years . I had to replace the Regulator and hose also , yellow and orange flames were coming out of the cast iron burners . Grill has some surface rust , but functions great . Neighbors go crazy every time I light this thing up . They know I am always cooking something delicious . I bought a mini Kamado grill for cooking just for me ! ☺️
Great video. Thanks for the tip about facing the flame carriers forward. It's a small detail that really does make a difference, and is perfect for the reason you mentioned of searing meat, and have the stronger flame toward the front.
Oh, yes, very helpful! We recently acquired a nice 4-burner Char-Broil stainless grill that someone just threw out because those rails are all rusted out, and the ignitor was ruined by water infiltration. We pick, so my son brought it home, and I started looking up how to fix it up. Great video, because we also found two 20-lb propane cylinders to make it and a beautiful propane smoker we also acquired fully-serviceable again. 👍🏼
Charbroil grills are easy to change due to the pins they use makes changing parts easy no rusted screws thanks charbroil. Wish other things were so easy to fix
My grill is 5 years old......I bought the new kit and cast Iron grates, took a good degreaser to the out side(LA's Totally Awesome Grill and oven cleaner. I bought it at the Dollar Tree). Cleaned the grease trap and pan underneath with Dawn and Voila! a brand new Grill!!!
Spot on video, I found one just like it on the side of the road, put out for the garbage man, and I got it. I watched this vid, ordered the parts kit and it went back together just as you described. My only challenge was the rear clips were very hard to install, I could've never done it with one hand. Thanks for taking all the guess work out!
Great video. Thanks. I was given a 5 burner charbroil grill that was 1 year old. It had been used a lot but never cleaned. I scrapped about 3/4 in off the bottom. The glop protected all the metal so it was easy to clean. The burners were good so the only thing that it will need soon are drip pieces above the burners. They should hold up this season. Thanks for a thorough video. Stay safe.
GREAT video, man!!! Thank you so much for this! My wife ordered the parts for our grill which is the exact same as yours, and it's nice to be able to have a live person do a step by step with a visual on how to do this. Thank you again!!! :-)
I just disassembled, cleaned, prepped my grill and ordered same parts on Amazon. I previously changed 2 burners but a full blown rehab is the way to go. 👍🇺🇸
Don't forget to season the cast iron grates and with the fire off spray the new Flavorizer bars , crossover tubes with PAM Grilling spray it helps them stay rust free and last much longer !
My son picked up a used grill for me for $30, then told me what to order on Amazon. It's a 5 burner and looks like a broiler on the end. That and one of the burners have ignitors. I can't remember which burner I took the ignitor off. Does it matter which burner I put the new ignitor on? (5 came in the kit but the ignition switch only has room for 3 wires.
It doesn't matter as long as that is the one you use to light your grill every time. The front of the grill should be marked with which knob has the ignition.
I would like to how quickly your BBQ gets up to 500 degrees or more, and how long, if at all. I have the same BBQ, that I bought new and I feel like it's never properly heated up, as it won't go past 450.
@@c130aviator yes the regulator would be my first guess. I've tried purging the tank, and resetting the regulator, and it still takes like 15 minutes to get to 450. I think I will order a regulator, and see if it was just a factory defect. I should also add the uneven cooking all over the grilling surface, and the temperature drop off when the lid is opened. Something just ain't right.
I took everything apart to clean it., I never touched pilot number two. Now that I put everything back together after watching this video pilots 1,3 and four 4 do not work. Any suggestions?
Those igniter clips DO NOT go on the new burner tubes as easily as he demonstrates. Took me an hour and two pairs of pliers to get them on. This job can take 2-3 hours.
@c130aviator I don't know, I just keep replacing burners or shields, pretty much every year. I keep it clean every time I use it but doesn't matter. Either the grease or the weather destroy them. Under a porch! You're right, they are cheap, but I'm worried to spent 2 grand on a BBQ now...
can't believe you did that whole repair with one hand... great job

real nice quick dyi video very well spoken step by step listening to your video does life easy

Good informative video man and thanks for linking the parts
Great video, will be doing our grill later today. 👍
Thanks, that was exactly the information I was looking for!
Very nice video. Well done!
Thank you, great video
I would suggest getting a factory cover to keep the rain and ocean moist air from the grill area.
Thanks man! headed out to do mine now!
Thanks for serving. Hope you didn't have to sign a hand receipt for that grill. 😁
Awesome vid! He seriously did all that with one hand!!l 😵😁🙏🏻
Great video. Thanks!
Is that Patrick AFB Housing?? Looks familiar...
nice! and all one handed ;)
Lol
i ordered the parts bout to do this

I did this just how in the video but my other three burns will not light up. Help!?!
My man did that grill dirty by not cleaning it when he had all the hardware removed.

Mine gets up to 600 if I leave it sit. Seems very hot. Might be your regulator or burners that are misaligned.

Anyone know how to replace the regulator on these?
It's okay to leave the rusted grates??
Yes, once you heat the grill up and preclean the metal, it won't transfer to the food.
Thank you!!!
I took everything apart to clean it.,
I never touched pilot number two. Now that I put everything back together after watching this video pilots 1,3 and four 4 do not work. Any suggestions?
When in doubt, start over. Disassemble again, check everything, and reassemble. Use a little scientific method and go back to the beginning.
@@c130aviator Will do👍
Thank you so much
How can you adjust the airflow if you’re getting too much yellow flame near the propagation?
***thanks for teaching men the term flame propagation! 🤣
You can squeeze the tubing with pliers
So... Is it a AAA battery or a AA battery? Cauz you said both...
$32 not bad at all for the parts, but after you took all the old parts out it was a good opportunity to take a putty knife and scrape the build up.
👍👍👍👍👍
Those igniter clips DO NOT go on the new burner tubes as easily as he demonstrates. Took me an hour and two pairs of pliers to get them on. This job can take 2-3 hours.
The trick is to do it one handed. 😆
your grates are on upside down, flat side goes up if you are searing meat.
Then the manufacturer put them upside down in the directions, you should let them know. 😉
@@c130aviator well they are reversible, but most of what people cook is better with the flat side up.

I found this video a little to late.
"put your wires back in". Where the fuck is this 2nd wire coming from? You didn't explain that.
The left side ‘side burner’ if so equipped
These bbq are so cheaply made with paper thin metal, they just rot in a couple of years.
True, but you strike me as the type that would also say they are too expensive if they were built better. 6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other, so they say.
