What an informative, interesting and funny video! So well organized, thank you! What you said in the end was the cherry on top for me, the fact that every story is a two sided coin. History videos, books and conversations should always highlight it. Thank you once more, your Hungary - obsessed greek fan! 🙂

What a creative idea to tell history. I loved it! I just didn’t understand the end so when that guy gave up he got the land and became a country? But please keep doing more of these is very interesting! And I know it takes a lot of work to do this so thank you

Hey there! After the Hungarian armies laid their weapons, some political figures seeked refuge elsewhere and some continued their work. Thanks to Ferenc Deák and Gyula Andrássy after several years there was a Compromise Agreement between Hungarians and Habsburgs which lead to decades of peaceful and Prosperous times. After WW1 the Austro-Hungarian Empires collapsed and the borders of Today's Hungary were created.

I would love to hear more about Hungarian history! I was fortunate to be able to visit Momento Park a few weeks ago with a very knowledgeable guide.

Thanks for the cool and informative video. Who did the figure/cutouts? Also interesting is many of the streets and subway stations are named after some of these people, so it is good to know who they were. Stay Fluffy (Eric)

Thanks 🙂 The figures were drawn and cut by myself. There are many interesting historic events for us Hungarians, but there were so many important figures during this period. so yeah a lot of our streets and squares are named after these people 🙂

New subscriber here. Szia! I am Canadian born with parents from Hungary. They have both since passed away. I am planning a trip to Hungary possibly in 2024. I am building on the small amount of Hungarian that I speak, read and write. Since my parents left in 1956, I would really appreciate a little more information about that time. My parents didn’t speak much about it. I would guess that it was a very painful and frightening time. Lenne időd evvel segíteni? Köszönöm szépen.

1956 is a very interesting time even if it wasnt the most happy of times. I also only know things about it from how my grandma descibed it. It is a period of Hungarian and World history I am planning to cover similarly in a future video. :)

@@StuffedCabbageAdventures I would really be interested in the people such as your grandmother who remained in Hungary and how they felt about the people who left.

Hungarian šľachta(nemesseg) was too strict and unfair to non-hungarians (slovaks, romanians, horvats), maybe if hungarian government was more tolerant to other minorities, they woudnt start war supporting habsburgs...

Absolutely, it wasn't the right move and it's important to look back and accept that not everyone was perfect, even if we Celebrate them today, it's not really discussed in schools when this is taught to children. Which is a pity.
