Great video, I’m thinking about buying another bike. Sold my last one….a 2016 Zx14R. Can’t decide between the H2 SX or the ZX14R. I want a more comfortable seating position. The ZX14R with the bar risers is still painful after 45 minutes riding. As for the video….. looks like the ZX14R needs 1 hp per mile per hour. Stock 186HP top speed 186 MPH. 200HP 200 mph top speed. Interesting at the very least. Just catching up on your videos since it’s winter and dreaming about summer lol.
I have a feeling these bikes run rich naturally at their top end because of how much air they can intake. There's no way to simulate it in a dyno room. But at 160mph that massive intake is gonna eat alot more air than you'll ever feed it. I dynoed at 194 wheel HP with the single sided full Yoshimura R77 exhaust after ecu flash and tune.
Most bike have 02 sensors which can adjust fuelling in closed loop to maintain whatever AFR has been programmed into the ECU. 100% throttle will generally run open loop not closed loop, and again will only adhere to its open loop fuel and spark tables. To say that it runs rich because it gets so much air only shows that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
You misunderstood what he said about running rich. He was theorizing that the bike runs rich in the upper gears on the dyno In anticipation of the extra air that would be rammed into the motor at high speeds. On the road, the bike would be less rich than it would be on a dyno where the ram air system has no impact.
