I really like this way. Don’t get me wrong a recap at the track is good, but for Rachel and all others that are learning, this is a great learning tool. I can remember when I was racing my car, I learned something new every time I went out, or at least it seemed like it.
I am think maybe we are going to figure out how to at least hit a few high points like this after races. maybe put the whole video together but then put the review at the end and hit a few key things we see.
Rachel, youre learning great. When that moment comes on the track when you make that series of 3 to 5 laps and the light bulb moment happens, youll be very hard to beat. As fans, we watch and the cars look hooked up and the cars react seemingly normal. But in reality, everything is kind of a delayed reaction and happens much slower than we think and you have to drift them around, thats much different than what we see from the outside lol. I love watching you learn. I know that i would have a hard time slowing down and just racing the track lol. Jason is a great teacher, he has what looks to be a very good car under you and lots of experience. What i learned here is that corner entry and throttle pick up is everything. Letting off sooner also means getting back to the throttle quicker, keeping the momentum keeps the car planted. Youre doing great, we love watching this content and watching you learn.
Rachel did one heck of a job for the 1st night of the year. I liked that she wasn't scared to get in there and run side by side. She made some good clean passes. A good entry sets you up for the apex, which sets you up for the exit. That is where the speed comes from. I think doing a play by play at the track and then doing a review at the end would be good. Maybe even try to mix it together.
Love these videos! Your understanding and teaching style have helped me immensely.. I am 3 weeks in to a re-start of my racing career. Drove 4cyl mini stocks in 2004-2006. These metric cars are a different animal nowadays. This video is going to prompt me to put my GoPro in-cab this weekend to start learning my tendencies. Invaluable footage!
I hope it helps Rachel but honestly I catch myself doing stupid stuff every time I watch my own in car footage. And you cannot get better if you are not even aware of the problem!
I just started racing, and this video is very helpful. I wish I had someone on my team like you that had the patience and knowledge to explain and articulate things the way you do! You could do a series of videos doing commentary on peoples clips they send in to you and giving them tips on how to improve!
Not bad for the first time out for the year. Hopefully she can get plenty of time in the seat this year to build on her driving skills. If so I believe she will give them boys a run for there money. Best of luck to you Rachel.
Rachel once u get the hang of it and become smoother driving and not upsetting the car by over steering and violently snapping the steering wheel I Honestly think your gonna beat great driver
likely would be ideal for her to never get completely off the brake as she picks up the throttle bit honesty at this point I think I want to get her to just be off that brake altogether on entry where she breaks the current habits.

thats a good tip friend, thank you
I gained a lot watching this. I was so anxious and too aggressive after I got frustrated. Few more setup changes and a calmer head will do me good.
💯

You are only getting better Rachel
She finished 4th out of 9 last weekend so we were very happy with that.
Loved this video. Really opened my eyes and think I can use some of your advice myself
Really forces us to see what is actually happening instead of just assuming

For sure Scott, This year we plan to take both cars to events to make sure she gets seat time. seat time for sure will help.
