I've been meaning to get back to Golden Sun for a really long time. It has one of the best soundtracks from the GBA library.
I've seen a lot of requests for Saturos Battle over time, and personally I'm a fan of the Saturos and Menardi Battle theme, so I decided to through the later in at the end as well.
This song is a part of the Power to the Patreons album due later this year.

Saturos is pretty much Prox's Isaac. He is the hero of his people and their top-notch warrior.
He is the one they tasked with saving the world, along with Menardi.
It's such an iconic moment when Isaacs group faces him in battle.
When I played this back when it came out I wondered why Saturos' theme sounded so heroic. Then playing TLA I finally understood, he WAS the hero. WE were the villains the whole time.

I wish the second game made a bigger deal over it, I feel you should have you fight the original party more to make it more obvious and fun.

To be fair, everyone was just acting in what they believed was the world’s best interest. Isaac’s group believed the world would be destroyed if the Lighthouses were lit, and both the Proxians and Felix’s group knew that the world would be destroyed if the Lighthouses _weren’t_ lit.
Saturos and Menardi’s (as well as, to a somewhat lesser degree, Karst and Agatio’s) methods weren’t exactly heroic by any measure, though. Taking hostages, assaulting children, and all around just doing as they pleased.

Also there's the plot hole of nobody telling Isaac that Weyard was in danger of being consumed

I think it has to be stated I love how GaMetal always uses synthesised keyboard sounds when it's _right_ to do so. Too many "orchestration" and re-imaginations of game songs remove the feel of the song by trying to emulate a sound with real instruments that just can't be.
Agreed. All others feel anemic and limp, while this one has all the fire and fury that a battle theme should have.

I love your Golden Sun covers, because they sound like what I imagined them sounding like when I played the game as a kid. This is what I'd imagine they would have sounded like if the game had been on current-gen hardware instead of the GBA.

Right on the money. Sakuraba is a progressive rock musician and if you listen to The True Mirror Guitar Version (Baten Kaitos OST) which uses much higher quality midi samples (GameCube) you can really hear what he was going for with Golden Sun.

Technically he was in Smash. As a boring assist trophy in Brawl. But he would be awesome as a fighter. Maybe in Smash NX...

i know right! i always imagined him having a way to swap djinn altering his psynergy making him extremely versatile.
Isaac is a must for the next Smash.

Saturos will always be one of the great "Magnificent Asshole" antagonists. His theme is still amazing to this day. Up there with the best of FF imo.

Here's one thing I have seen that I can't believe I never picked up on. The general boss music for the two games and the other boss specific music (doom/fusion dragons) are chaotic with sounds of dread. But when you fight Saturos, it sounds like an epic protagonist soundtrack, like he's on his own adventure as a hero. And the Saturos/Menardi theme is similar with slight bit more dread since they are at their last straw trying to survive and save the world. Agatio and Karst, while still human bosses, still have the dread/evil intent music because they are fuled by deception and revenge, whereas Saturos and Menardi still have a heroic tune. They are the chosen saviors of the world from Prox, and we didn't get that hint that they were doing the right thing until far too late for remembering the soundtrack again. Their theme only becomes evil when they are pushed and have to become a monster to survive and finish their quest. The attention to detail in the music is insane

The transition into Saturos (+Menardi) @2:46 was so awesome. That track really gets your heart pumping & evokes a sense of panic. You're at the top of the lighthouse...face-to-face with now TWO Elite Fire Adepts...You are no longer in control of the situation. Absolute Banger.
Saturos and Menardi's theme is basically pure unbridled panic and fear mixed into epicness!

Golisopod, The Sweet toothed Shadow thief It's an alright game in it's own right. But it makes bad choices considering the plot and geography of Weyward after the Golden Sun.
My gods. This game series is one of the few that I have true nostalgia for, and Saturos kicked my ass too many times when I was young. I really need to play these games again.

It's quite funny. I recently went back and listened to the Golden Sun soundtrack, so imagine my surprise when one of my favorite cover artists made his own version. I've always loved this theme. Well done, dude!

I'm in love with this remix, especially when transitioning to Saturos and Menardi battle theme. The second half had a bit of Motoi Sakuraba's style, mostly because of the piano.

Never played Golden Sun, but the music and especially your covers of it are awesome.
I've also never made a request, so I'd love to hear literally anything from any Metal Gear game. Metal Gear 2 has an incredible main theme and MGS3's whole soundtrack is amazing.

Golden Sun 4. We need to play as a fire adept. From the clan of saturos and agatio. with similar balaclava mask design to gambit and wears cyclops shades. and wears golden swordbreaker pauldrons. The true protagonist. He wields a golden greatsword and his adept powers controls the sun and fire.

This is beyond words, I love it so much! If I could subscribe more than once I would do it right now. Golden Sun is still one of my favorite games of all time and Saturos and Menardi's themes are among my favorites of the franchise. Others are sailing on the boat where you need to pick a crew and the Doom Dragon. Really hope to hear more Golden Sun music magic in the future and keep up the good work :D

I didn't realize how much power metal was in Golden Sun till I listened to this.

I have waited so long for this and now it's finally here, and you have done the theme justice. I was worried I wasn't going to like this so much since Saturos' theme is pretty much my favorite theme in all of gaming, but my god I love it. I'm also really glad you added Saturos&Menardi's theme as well. I love it. I can die happily now. Well, not really since Isaac isn't in smash :(
