I really love the styling of the new Ibiza. I think it looks even better than it's bigger brother the Leon. The red one in the Fr trim is very spectacular. By widening it they have made it look a lot more sporty and aggressive than the old Ibiza. Can't wait for the full review. I hope you test out that new 1.5-litre TSI turbo petro with 150hp.

The new generation of the Ibiza looks so sexy and sporty when you order the FR-Version ;) I hope SEAT will launch a CUPRA-Version!! The contemporary infotainment and the assistent-systems are creditable!!

Why the front badge is barely seen? Why Seat?
Because it has an inclination pointing to the roof and the dark-colored and shady surroundings make the reflections on the chrome badge dark too. That is why.
To be honest, I haven't seen any car maker changing its deisgn, so as to make sure the badges are pointing to the lights of car shows. I have this feeling, however, the badge will be shiny under the sunlight.

It's very hard to find any flaw at the new Ibiza. The design is dynamic and elegant at the same time. But what's maybe even more important, the styling is not just harmonic, it has character (whithout being odd) and represents the new typical SEAT corporate identity in a perfect way.
The package of the car seems to be outstanding in class. A powerful, environment friendly and economic 90 hp ng version will be available. There is no doubt that SEAT has done the rest of the homework like driving performance, comfort, sound isolation and so on in the same brilliant way. If SEAT also ties up an attractive service parcel (leasing, car insurance, service flatrate), which they hopefully will, the new Ibiza will be the most attractive offer in the small car segment.
Having a width of 1.78 m the Ibiza already scrapes at the Golf class, which he also does with a 350 l trunk. This kind of "small cars" could make a way for a new kind of mobility. Small is beautiful. Small is environment friendly, Small is economic, small and wellness go together, small is smart, small has room for four, small is big enough.

Not usually a fan of small cars but the new Ibiza looks great. From what I've seen Mediterranean Blue but in FR Package would be my favorite.

So my CPC finance is up on my Leon FR 2.0 TDI come 2018, I went back in to my dealer to see the Leon and see if it was worth swapping early if I could get a cheaper deal, he asked what about an Ibiza. I told him how much I hated it especially for the compromised build quality and interior. If they really have optimised the space, brought the same standards across along with that new 1.5 engine then I would be very tempted, I rarely need all the space of my Leon.
This model change is in my opinion way better than the current. If i had known this came out I'd maybe bought this one. I now have the Audi A3 Sportsback 1.4 CoD panaramic roof Daytona grey with the dynamic steering you suggested to add to the configuration. Great review and car. I'd check the car in the showroom when it is there.

I did check it out. I drove the Ibiza model 2001-2008 (1.6, 1.9TDI sport, 1.4 sport, 1.6 sport) and must say this is a much grown-up model than the older ones. Styling is boxy but I like it. The blue color would maybe have been a color for me or basic black. (metallic) FR version with panoramic roof would have been the one I have bought.

I really like this new Ibiza. I'm actually considering it as my next car. I would go for the Desire Red, but maybe it's a bit too extreme for Germany, where I live. I think the Pirineos Grey (metallic) is a bit more discreet and fits in better in the german market. The contrast looks great with the black mirrors and rims.
The red is really really nice though. By the way, next week we will show you a comparison review Leon versus the Ibiza and also a TGI special
Thomas, Ich muss gestehen das Ich in der letzten Zeit ein etwas, besonderes gefühl für die Farbe "Thomas-Blau" entwickelt habe.....! :) Sieht toll aus der Wagen, hoffentlich gehört der irgendwann mal mir! (Stimmt, was die Leute so sagen, Seat ist tatsächlich eine "marke der Jugend") Mach weiter so, bin schon lange dabei und es kann ja nur besser werden!

I preffer a 3 door before a 5 door, as I preffer manual before an automatic, also manual parking brake before an automatic one.

Hello Thomas, an excellent review as always, do you know why the SEAT designers decided to put a roof antenna on the new SEAT Ibiza and not to make something similar as the SEAT Leon which doesn't have any antenna on the roof? I think that this characteristic on the Leon make it looks more dynamic.

At last! After years of dull design, a nice and sporty Seat Ibiza :) And YES: alcantara and leatherette is the best solution. The mediterranean blue color is gorgeous!!!
I think it was Mystery Blue sorry, as Mediterrean should be a little darker. Not sure though

I would compare the new Ibiza with the facelifted Rapid Spaceback, for a future new compact car for myself. I know that its direct rival it is tha Fabia, but the price range is kind of similar. Waiting for the official launch so I can make the comparison... and the final choise.
Who knows the dimensions of the tire on the 18" spare wheel? Is it 125/65R18? (For beats audio in the new Ibiza Fr)

I admit, i really really shocked luggage space and inside space this car. Almost perfect car for a city driving and long way car (for Two or three times in the year) . I would prefer 1.0 tsi +manuel combination in next years.
By the way; i prefer those metallic grey color.

can someone tell me if the fr ibiza can be ordered with the dsg gearbox cause in my country the fr model is only with manual gearbox only basicly all seats with fr packege comes only with manual...

The blue coloured Ibiza is definitely "Mystery blue"
I also find the new design on the new platform to be too much rounded - it's like a blop put on the ground. I think it lacks the refinement, focus of the lines and agression in the previous generations.
Actually a lot like Audi A1.
