    From 0:15 to 1:11 is my voice. This would have been recorded in about 1985 (give or take a year) if memory serves.

    Yes! It had to be earlier than 83. I was stationed at Kadena from 83-84, and this was exactly the sign off. I recorded it. Wow. Takes me back

    This Star Spangled Banner sign-off clip was played in Mainland TV sign-offs, but with another recording of the anthem.

    Was this closed-circuit to U.S. installations? Or really broadcast to the entire island?

      I believe it probably used the same model as in Europe - very small transmitters located near/on a base for that immediate area or available via cable/closed-circuit in gov't buildings.
