Good work scotty
I think this is the 20th time that GM has been shutting down. 😂
The American government keeps WeekendIng-At-Bernie’s the corpse of GM lol they gotta let it go. The last good truck they made was in 2006.

Scotty doesn’t let truth and honesty get in the way of the clicks. He’s also got another RIP video that he just posted about the tired old fartbook rumor that he probably started.
He has to be right eventually 😅
He's right tho...they are shutting down the ev crap that they can't sell? He just didn't put it on the thumb nail...I hate the aholes that do that and the video has absolutely nothing to do with what they put on it...shitbaiters!🤬

Problem is the federal government
Without a doubt with their idiotic mandates and ridiculous CAFE standards.
What an educated statement
No. EV’s sucks. 🤮
My wife works for a company that moves GM employees across the world basically for relocation, so I have a vested interest in their success, for her job security, but with the whole EV thing I can't help but shake my head. What are they delusional?
Delulu is not the solulu
I live in Northern Minnesota. The battery in my gas powered car freezes sometimes because it gets very cold in the winter time. Like -35* below zero. Theres no way an electric vehicle can survive the extreme temperatures we often experience.
Musk told the govt otherwise
Just like how you plugged in the oil heater, the e car needs to be plugged in to keep the battery warm. Or pre warm the car but it may use 25% of the battery power.
Don’t worry comrade. I’m warming the planet up with my V8 tundra so you too can soon have 50 degree winters
It sure is quit out there when it's 35 below.

Can't run in Chicago but runs fine in the Nordic countries in sub zero temperature.
Every one of what EVs did not start.
Illinois has about 100000 EVs
Are you claiming all 100000 EVs were not drive able?

Car companies should learn their lesson and STOP producing EVs.

I heard that Ford is also counting a vehicle as sold when it ships to a dealer. I would not be surprised at all that all manufacers are doing this. Its all about sales numbers for positive stats.
Ford made the Fusion Hybrid. My brother-in-law's sister had one and liked it.
I had one. Was a great car
Ford are a bid airheads for canceling their smaller and affordable cars.
Ford made a car but bought the Toyota hybrid system design to put in it.
@@danc2014 no that's not true, it's fully ford developed, at least according to Wikipedia. Makes sense as the Fusion Hybrid had better performance and mpg numbers than the toyota camry hybrid.

Agreed, I hate the start stop systems also. First time I experienced one was renting a 2019 Impala. It was so terrible my wife even noticed it and asked if something was wrong with the car.
That Start-Stop System was most Assuredly Stupid but you could Over-ride the Setup. My daughter had same system in her BMW, I told her this cannot be good for the starter and she did the Over-ride to stop this stupid process...
Well, the Volt was actually a really good hybrid.
It’s a plug in hybrid
The Volt has a Rube Goldberg transmission for mixing electric motor and ICE.
@@N4HHE
Still a hybrid
Volts is actually an electric car with engine to charge the EV battery. The engine does not propel the car at all its main purpose is to charge battery
@@ronaldoquintos1675
Yeah... But it's still categorized as a hybrid. If GM will repeat that process, but build larger vehicles with the same type of platform, it will be a home run. Charge when you can, unlimited range when you can't.
Don't worry. They'll suck at making hybrids, too.
You just nailed parenting. I'm only making sure ya only make your mistakes, not mine. You're on your own after that.
I have owned a EV for 10 yrs. It’s called a club car.
The negative EV press from Chicago during January blizzard is the kiss of death for EV's. At least in cold northern states.
Until State change their regulations, EV's will continue. You need for the government to change environmental and fuel mileage standards.
The new batteries charge faster in the cold. Current batteries need to be preheated.
Scotty what do you think about MoS2 engine oil like that of molly? Is it good for the engine?
GM Needs to build Muscle Cars again!
What they should do is bring back one of the best products that the automotive industry came out with! Get rid of all of the electronics in the car. Except the temp sensor, oil sensor, and put back the 3C carburetor! It was as close to fuel injection and it still was mechanical operation! It was the only thing that needed a computer. I had a 3C carb on my 77Cutlass S. It ran really great! It used as much fuel as injection! And my Cutlass had a 350 Rocketin it as well!
Good on you Scotty, because you love your cats! Oh, and all the car stuff too!
Yep I’ve over one million miles on my car I’ve only had to replace the engine twice and the body once, the chassis was replaced three times because of rust, all the electric components I’ve only ever changed four times, brilliant car, when it dies I think I’ll get another one 😊

I agree with Scotty on pure battery cars. If I lived in Vancouver, BC and had short city commutes with easy access to chargers I would consider one as a second car to use for city commuting. At this moment in time I don't and live in a place where I have to deal with weather and lack of charging stations. Battery technology is just not good enough for me at this moment in time.

How many car companies are shutting down this week?

I'd rather have a hybrid than an electric. Even if it's a Chevy.
Scotty what's the real advantage to these hybrids anyhow I heard the battery will only take you 50 Mi or something that seems ridiculous
If you commute in the city and hybrid is plug in, you may never need gas. But when you need to go further, it is ready to
You will get more than 50 Mi on a battery.
It keeps papa Joe from killing ICE cars entirely.
Most people drive less than 50 miles per day, so that’s all the battery you need to drive fully electric most of the time (Assuming you can charge at home or work). The engine is just there for the relatively rare times you take a longer trip, during which is works like a normal gas-powered car until you recharge it. This works *extremely* well for most people.
You can also get ~50 mpg ave on a tank.
Just had a friend purchase a Hummer. (All Electric) 132 k. He hates it and is only 1 month old. He is using a loaner truck because of problems with the Hummer. If he tows he will need a portable generator.
I want an electric car, I understand the pros and cons and I enjoy the pros.
It's not that I don't want an electric car, it's that I'm not going to pay luxury prices for one.

All those other car companies expect Toyota should listen to Scotty kilmer you will never go wrong
Scotty: Since the beginning of the 21st Century (1-2-01, the first business day) General Motors has gone bankrupt (2008). The bankruptcy completely wiped out the shareholders (owners) of the business. The Federal Government injected new capital into the business in order resurrect and allow it to continue to manufacture automobiles. Ford shareholders, with dividends being reinvested, have experienced a total return of 7.25%, or .30% per year since the aforementioned date. When I mention 7.25%, I mean that is the total return over a period of 23 years! Over that time the S&P 500 has returned 296.55% or 6.13% per year. In the movie "Wall Street" the character played by Michael Douglas would have referred to these two companies as "a dog with fleas!" Over time the stock market is a good indicator of the viability of a business. I think that both of these companies are terminal. In order to save themselves, I think they will be forced to merge. The absolute underperformance of these two confirms your comments about the poor quality of their products.
They need to just make the things people want to buy. Today, that's SUVs of varying sizes.
They should focus more on energy efficiency too IMO. They are using superfluous amounts of power in most cases and the tire wear is proof of that.
We need electric vehicles capable of a 500 mile range, *at minimum.*
I'm paying about 250% per mile for my turbo charged 4 banger (275 Hp) than I would an electric right now. It is a refined piece of older technology. But I Also only paid $10k for it & can easily and quickly top it off and it will never lose range (about 300 miles) as it ages.
I heard one guy that had a electric Truck just say, I carry a gas operated Generator with me, I can always charge my Batteries...lol...

Answer this, when will Tesla change it's strategy? Hybred or ICE?
Wait until owners find out how much it costs to repair a hybrid car.
good thing hybrids are more reliable than standard ICE vehicles and dont need many repairs.
@cheese1719 Hybrids have the same components than a combustion vehicle + more. How can a hybrid version of the same vehicle can be more reliable?
@@lajya01 because you have the reliability and simplicity of an electric drivetrain that can act as an assist to the stupid antiquated crap ICE drivetrain and take the stress off of it.
You have regenerative braking that means you lessen the wear and tear on the brake system to the point you might not need ot service the brakes, for hundreds of thousands of miles.
Further probably 1/3rd of the time the engine can actually be fully off while you cruise on the electric drivetrain. So a hybrid with 100,000 miles may only have actually 50-70k miles on the engine itself depending on how the person drove it.

I would consider a hybrid. My friend got a Camry hybrid 9 years ago. It was fantastic till about month ago and now it needs a new battery that’s about $5,000 dollars installed. Now I have to say I’m running a 97 Camry and I changed the battery and alternator for $300. I’m not giving up on my car yet.
Hey I'm wondering if maybe your friend put an unusually low amount of miles on that car. Years ago a mechanic explained to me that hybrid batteries require a certain amount of usage or else they will prematurely break down.
There are aftermarket options for battery replacement…
My goodness, hybrids are a waste of money. You get the double the maintenance for two vehicle worlds
You can save $5000 in gas after 25,000 miles 50 MPG vs 30 mpg 20 mpg in 25,000miles = 1,250 gallons If you start from new the $15,000 extra cost will take 75,000 miles to recoup but the extra cost is less now.
@@randalsaladbar I have a 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid, All it needed was all changes and tire rotations. And it’s getting between 36 and 38 miles to the gallon. Now, will it last for 20 years? I don’t think so but I didn’t buy it with the expectation that it would. But I would imagine that it would only need a hybrid battery replacement to continue down the road assuming it wasn’t damaged in a crash or something. Ford hybrid technology is very similar to the technology that Toyota uses in the Prius. That gives me a high level of confidence that it should be reliable, plus Ford has been building hybrids for quite a while now.

The vehicle starts back up by itself after sitting idle for a while (how long, I don't know, but I'm sure different carmakers set their own parameters).
