I just noticed that you have 10000 subscribers now. CONGRATULATIONS. I think that your subscribers grew in numbers pretty fast, as compared to other photography-related UA-cam channels. I think that you always surprise everyone with a review or a tutorial or a comparison, which everyone JUST needed. Thank you very much for your time and effort. Please keep shooting and keep sharing.

That's a really, very, helpful review. I ordered my F5 this evening. Thanks for your help in making my decision. FYI - I'm coming at this from the perspective of a Cinematographer with the D16 (an s16mm Raw cinema camera).
Well done. I’m not into video (yet) but was intrigued by your suggestion to use the monitor as a macro focusing aid. Never thought about that use, but considering some macro work outdoors and the awkward positions that sometimes are necessary, the monitor could be very helpful.
@@RobTrek I'm very disappointed to use a extern monitor, like this, on my OM-D E-M1 mark 3 for photography . A lot of functions don't work, for me it's not working. I''m using exposere bracketing for my work, but it doesn't work. And a lot of more functions.
With so much gear on the market it's just very difficult to make informed decisions. Unless of course you have Rob Trek. Always incouraging and always informative. Trek on!
Hi Rob, thanks for this video after nearly a year I bought one! Already better selfie’s. However is there a way you can get the super control panel up on the Olympus E-M10 mkII screen? Or can we only access it through the feel world monitor once plugged in?
Lovely video as usual rob. Is there anyway I can hook up the iPad Pro as a field monitor? My other question if I do invest in a stand alone field monitor like yours how does the whole system work? I mean once you hook in the HDmi cables it simply mirrors the camera image? Or do you need a software to do it? Can you explain the whole process sir
I don't know how to use tablets as a field monitor other than using the Olympus App. The field monitors are plug n play. They have their own menus and such. So set the camera's hdmi output to "monitor", then run the cable.
Thanks for your videos. You make them in a way that is so informative and clear. I would like to ask if it would be possible to do one on how to manual focus with a prime lens like the 20mm 1.7 or the 45mm 1.8.
Very informative video, thank you! Could you please tell me, is the bracket required to power on the monitor or could I power on the monitor by only attaching the monitor to the camera by the cable? I don’t necessarily want the monitor mounted on the bracket at all times and was not sure if the bracket connecting the monitor to the camera was a power source or merely a place to mount the monitor in place. New to photo here, your advice is much appreciated! Thanks.
According to one seller, "MA5 updates polarizer film screen with 30% improvement of light sensitivity and 10 ms quicker response time, achieving the most colorful neutral performance". Seems like the ma5 is better choice.
About the same as most cell phones. Not great in direct light, but it comes with a hood. You can see a comparison I did here: ua-cam.com/video/ji-l7Sf43ik/v-deo.html
@@RobTrek its looks good enough, its on 100% brightness ? and Im using sony a6500 and the screen is awful at sunlight, so im looking for a nice cheap monitor that have options like flase color and all that stuff for outside shooting.
So let me understand this device can be used if I were doing landscape photography for example? I really like the larger screen as I have a limited vision and the color and clarity seem super! Again I have the OM 10. You have the OM 10 ll... so I’m hoping that it will work for me.Thank you again for a fun video.
It should work fine. I checked the owners manual for the e-m10 and it outpus a 1080i 60 signal. The F5 also states that it accepts a 1080i 60 signal. If doing photography, I'd recommend the 5.7" or 7" model for an even larger screen.
@@RobTrek , thank you.....it is actually a perfect solution.....but those little torch lites are......expensive?! Your demonstration illustrated however there is a place for them.....you recommended the canon batteries/charger. Would the RAV power batteries do as well, albeit, the charger is not as informative.?
I bought that one kinda spur of the moment. It works fine, but I think you can get a much cheaper one. I may pick a cheap one up to review. Can't say one battery is better than another, but chargers seem to be universally good. But I'm keeping my eye on PLOTURE branded stuff. They don't have much out now but seem to be good quality.
@@RobTrekLooking forward to your next review, esp, this new product you're following. As for the torch lights....there are larger units like the following link. Perhaps too bulky but if it attaches to the hot shoe, there isn't a connection for the F5
Looks like an interesting unit, may consider one for macro. Do you know of a good USB double charger for the EM10 MkII ? Thinking of taking mine to Europe later this year but need a good double charger.
I haven't found one as nice as the one in the video. I bought the cheapest one and it's working fine. amzn.to/2DrtEsQ I use this one for home and it's great: amzn.to/2RLX6CT
Hey Rob, nice and interesting vid as usual b ut i have a question - that external screen is working only when recording video or can use it when taking pictures too? It's much bigger and has higher resolution - using an iPad or other tablet/smartphone is useful with Olympus app but the live view preview is not good quality so this external display would be better. Thanks for reply :) EDIT: ok i just watched video to the end and yes, i can use it for photography too ;)
Yes, it works for pictures too! I will do another video showing how to use this to help with photography. The picture quality is much better than using the app.

Thanks! Will keep trying to put out content people can use.
Great video Rob! Always handy to know ways to compensate the lack of a full articulated screen. This one seems pretty amazing to be honest. Thank you!
It's really nice little monitor. I'm taking it with me everywhere.
I should have gotten one of these sooner.

Thanks. It's a nice little lightweight monitor.
Interesting video, Something to look at in the future, as still learning the controls of camera. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you!

Thanks. That's actually one of my planned videos to use this for macro work. Probably would want the 7" version for even larger view.
Really great video. I don't Vlog, but it's wonderful to see the various options.
Thanks. I'm going to do a video on using it for photography.

Thanks for watching. I will see what I can do. What situations are you thinking about manually focusing?
I mean to be able to take off the autofocus and focus by manually turning the focus wheel on the lens.

Thanks. The bracket is just a mount with no electric contacts. Power is through the battery or ac power plugged into the monitor itself.
whats the difference between the f5 and the master ma5? just curious bc its only like $10 more.
According to one seller, "MA5 updates polarizer film screen with 30% improvement of light sensitivity and 10 ms quicker response time, achieving the most colorful neutral performance". Seems like the ma5 is better choice.
So it can’t be used with flash? I use the small flash on my em5 mark 2 to fire my main flash remotely. Any idea how to work around it?
Hi. I'm not sure what your question is but cold shoe has no contacts, so it will not fire a flash. Let me know if that answered your question. Thanks.
I. Any use the remote flash and the monitor on the same hot shoe so how do I get around that.
how is it for outside shooting on sunny days ?

Hi Rob, great review and I will be purchasing, do you know if you can use the Mac book pro as a monitor? Any help would be great
Kind regards, Ian
Thanks. Sorry, I'm not familiar with Apple products.
Thank you for the quick response, keep up the good work
Does the Feelworld F5 monitor work with the PEN F, too?? Thanks in advance. :-)
Yes, it works great!
Hello Rob, is this Field Monitor working with the Pen F ?
Yes, works great!
👍👍 Thanks - you just sat me back 200 🤣😁
Money well spent!
If you some day decide to take a trip to chile , let me know, and I will give you the best information from places and places to phtografy
Thank you for the very kind offer. Never been to Chile.
Poor monitors, not worth it. I got feelworld f5 pro and with less than 2 hours use the screen is flickering.
I'm not surprised as these things are budget monitors. Mine is still working fine after a couple of years with light use. Thanks for the feedback.
