I am going to research this for you and get back ASAP. But I believe it takes 7.4v using battery power because that is one of the highest voltages in commonly used (NPF) batteries. This means the monitor can run at 7.4v and you should be able to power it with a separate battery plate and a cable into the DC port. I want to check the voltage range for the DC input port just to be sure. My guess is it is something like 7.4 to 12v, but I want to make sure I give you the correct information.

I also connected a 9V battery pack to the monitor through the DC connection and it powers up and works fine. I managed to find a product spec sheet that states the DC input is 6-24V. Hi again, one more question please? Might you have a recommendation for a 12 volt cable connecting to a USB-C or USB-A port on an external battery pack? I was checking out various 12 volt cables on Amazon and found it confusing for all the many sizes available. I also wasn't sure if this will work due to 5 volts versus 12 volts specified on various cables. I am currently able to use a USB-C cable into the USB-C DC port to power the monitor, but I also want to try a 12 volt cable as well. Thanks!
It will all depend on what battery pack you are using. Usually USBC and USBA outputs are only outputting 5 volts from those packs. 12 volt battery packs usually use a DC barrel type connector. However, I am a bit confused by your setup. The F5 does not have a USBC input. It only has a DC barrel input for 12 volts. Are you somehow adapting a 5 volt USBC output into the 12 volt port and it still powers the monitor? It is possible the monitor will run on 5 volts, but I have not personally tried it.
@@BartJohnsonProd Hi and thanks for your reply. The FeelWorld F5 Pro monitor I have positively has a "DC IN 5V (Type-C)" port, in addition to a "DC OUT 8.4V" port. So with the included DC IN 5V Type-C port, I'm able to power the FeelWorld F5 monitor via the Anker 20,000 mAh battery mentioned just fine. But I'm curious to see what it's like to power the FeelWorld F5 monitor using the DC OUT 8.4V port. The RAVPower 20,000 mAh battery mentioned earlier is rated for 60W of power, so I'm guessing that has sufficient power for the monitor. But I'm uncertain which cable to get for 12 volt DC power. It's not super important, since I'm already able to power the monitor using the USB-C port, but I'm just curious about the 12 Volt port.
@@caseyonlocation8257 Interesting. My F5 does not have a USBC input port. It has a mini USB port for upgrade purposes only. Make sure you DO NOT try to send power to the monitor through the 8.4 Out port. This is an output port only, and is intended for sending power to a camera dummy battery.
@@BartJohnsonProd Aaah, didn't know that. I was going to try to send power into the DC port. But you're saying power should only go out of the DC port to a dummy battery? If so, then I'll just forget the whole thing. The USB-C port on the monitor works great connected to my Anker 20k mAh external battery, so I'll just use that method.
I was looking at the FW279 the 7" with 2200nits. I like the larger screen for anamorphic and I have heard that these use way less power than my Atomos 7". For a 5" size, it seems if you're looking at the SmallHD the Atomos Ninja V should also be considered too.

Hi Bart! What battery do we use for the F5 5" on camera monitor? Thank you!
it can take either Sony NPF style batteries or Canon LPE6. Awesome that it can take both!
I’m considering purchasing the monitor. But does it output the anamorphic desqueeze?
Hello friend, good video! A query ... how do I make the screen appear complete ?, I have tried everything, like changing the resolution, pressing the info button repeatedly and I still see more options on the edge of the screen and instead of having the 5.5 of An inch that my feelworld offers I only have 4.5 to give you an example. I wish you could help me a thousand thanks!
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Is the image being cropped somehow?
@@BartJohnsonProd exactly, I can only measure 4 inches instead of 5.5. I have nikon D5100 and can't get full screen
how does this compare to the other competition? Neewer, atamos ninja? ma5, and a few others like the liliput and elvid
Is there a reason why my F5 monitor is displaying in black and white?
WHAT IF YOU TILT THE CAMERA. WILL IT FOLLOW?
Would you recommend to anyone shooting only stills?
Could you use Falsecolor and focus peaking at the same time? thinking that you could control your export and focus att the same time lookin at the screen?
great review, what wall adapter do you recommend for this FW568?
I will have to look at the FW568. I am not familiar with that one.
@@BartJohnsonProd , well, I assumed that is the same one I have , as your title only says Feelworld F5,, OK, They look very similar as all the features you show appear to be the same, this Fw568 is 5.5, where yours is 5".? Thanks.trying to get a link to purchase a wall adapter, I reached out to Feelworld with no reply... Thanks for your reply.
@@BBWinner48 I don't use a wall adapter with this monitor, but let me do some Amazon searching and see if I can find one that should work!
does it have a waveform?
Does this monitor support 4.2.2 4k dci fujifilm xt3 output?
can it do 1:1 square aspect ratio guide?
Will This work with the Lumix G7
It should work with any camera that can send HDMI out.
Can this work.with a 60d
I believe it should
Will this work with an Osmo Action or Osmo Pocket?
I have not used either of those, but if they have an HDMI output that you can adapt to a full size HDMI, it should work.
Hey, can you apply a LUT to Slog footage with this monitor?
Can the Feelworld F5 output a clean HDMI?
It will only pass through whatever is fed into it. It cannot remove anything from the input source.
Does it work of you shoot 120 fps?
That will depend on your camera. If your camera can output a lower framerate signal over HDMI while recording in 120fps, then yes. I don't know of any cameras that output 120fps over HDMI.
@@BartJohnsonProd oké, thanks!
Can you pls send me the link where you got the cable from? I have a canon 80D and the USB part of the camera is different from the cable that came with the monitor. Id gladly appreciate if you shared me the link. :)
Click on this Amazon link and check out the thumbnail pics 5th one down on the left side: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0895VSXT2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These are the 2 different battery packs I have: Anker 20,000 mAh: www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Essential-Portable-High-Capacity/dp/B07SQ5MQ6K/ref=sr_1_5?crid=38LXL1ZESF7TS&dchild=1&keywords=anker+20000+mah+battery+pack&qid=1606501837&sprefix=anker+20000+mah+%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-5 AND RAVPower 20,000 mAh: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082PGS78L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has only side mounting holes but does not have mounting hole in the bottom, and also not having touch screen 😏
I think Swit CM55C is better ;)
I was looking at the FW279 the 7" with 2200nits. I like the larger screen for anamorphic and I have heard that these use way less power than my Atomos 7". For a 5" size, it seems if you're looking at the SmallHD the Atomos Ninja V should also be considered too.
I haven't used the FW279, but I will try and look into it! I also haven't yet had the pleasure of working with the Ninja V. This little F5 came across my desk and I was actually pleasantly surprised for the most part.
@@BartJohnsonProd They also have a 7" 2200 nit with SDI for about $350 on Amazon too. I haven't used the Ninja V yet either. Still using the Inferno 7" and it is thirsty for power.
Just saw there is an HDMi and SDI model of that FW279. The FW279S. It has piqued my interest.

Being a pc gamer an videographer I was furiated that my 6 inch field monitor cost the same as my 24in 144hz 😂😂 Idk
Tell me about it! Film gear is so expensive!!!
does it flip all the way so you can see yourself in case you have to record yourself?
Yes it will flip all the way around.
@@BartJohnsonProd Thank you for responding man!
@@escapamarketingvideos35 Of course! Thank you for watching!
Poor monitors, not worth it. I got feelworld f5 pro and with less than 2 hours use the screen is flickering.
That is surprising! My F5 is still working fine, and I also picked up an F5 Pro as well. I would contact Feelworld and see if it can be replaced.
@@BartJohnsonProd not worth the hassle. By the time I finally get to speak to someone and return it, I would have wasted to much time.
Sorry to hear that. That is a pain!

I have very bad experience with this company .. Won't buy again
Im sorry to hear that!
Looks like super cheap plastic
It is definitely on the "affordable" side in terms of build
