Many youtubers has already do a content about false color but this guy explains WAY BETTER then the others, awesome job there. Since I love the way he explains things, I can't wait for the next video, ANY video from this channel, keep it up 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽..
That means a lot! Thank you so much
@@BradyBessette I'm from Brazil and totaly agree with Jay. Thank you...
@@user-vf2uf1kv8d I’m also from Brazil 👍 just a random fact

Rainy car scene, high key look on a budget, 8 looks with 1 light were my favourites. I'd like to see perhaps more budget lighting set-ups for cinematic scenes.
you killed this!! this is such a HELPFUL video! amazing job explaining babe!!!
Thank you for being my biggest fan every week!! ❤️❤️
@@BradyBessette what app are you using to control your BMPCC? I have the BMD app on iPad and it only respects my aperture changes and ignores everything else :( Great video thanks!
@brady bessette can you do a video of how to light wide and tight shots out doors in harsh lighting
The "Make your own sunset" is my favorite video and I'd like to see a video on more stylistic lighting.
This was a very helpful class and paid full attention and learnt frm it 🙂, i loved when u showed how to light with one light 💡 .. and would love to see a video on using RGB colours and different creations ways to use it 🙂.. Giveaway 😍, always wanted an MC. i am entering
Thank you so much , rgb is fun!
I loved the Cove lighting technique and the Social Network recreation. I would like to see more Hollywood Recreation scenes including extra episodes on the grading process.
Hey thank you!!
I’d like to see how you storyboard or plan your shot list when you’re working on a project
Sounds great!
Yes please, need tips / advice for an upcoming project on this.
Hi Brady excelent video as always!!!, mi favorite video is: howto shoot a horror film and i think that i like to see a video of the lenses that you use in different environments, greeting regards
Jesus is Back😎..... I m really enjoying ur Classes... Thank you master!
Fav Video is.... Light a outdoor Scene without lights (Sun light only).....
Special mention is Rainy Car Scene lighting.......
And Actually i need Recreational Videos of Famous Hollywood Scenes lighting breakdown like a Tutorials.... Plz try to do if u wish.....
I know u can. That's why i mentioned as ur wish😉
fav video: Handheld vs Gimbal
I would like to see more commercial cinematography videos!
Loved this video on false color (have a Ninja V monitor and now have REALLY learned how to use False Color). Would like to see a video on using the Waveform while shooting in "log."
Thanks to your videos, you inspire me to make my own UA-cam videos about filmmaking (but in spanish :P) and I must say that I took your sunset look to make a short film with that look... and I won the festival I aplied with it!!! So I would say that that's my favorite video. Thank you soo much for everything you teach us and all your gratitude.
I really like the “8 film looks using 1 light”
One thing i would like to see is how to know which light to use in different scenarios or moods.
I got something good for that !
@@BradyBessette sweet, can’t wait😊
A tutorial about jils will be great
How to make your own sunset and I'd like to see you do more product videography (which is how I found your channel). There isn't a ton of good channels doing this at the moment. Thanks for all that you do!
You got it! Thank you Matt
what is your white balance normally set to? or do you adjust WB every time?
I think is probably my new favorite video because I have never understood false color until now! I also really love the lighting an outdoor car scene! And a video that I really would love to see, is an editing overview or what you do to edit?
Congrats on 75k! May 17th is my birthday, so it would be awesome to win one of the lights! My favorite video is probably the rainy car scene. As for a video I'd like to see, that's tough because you've already covered so many great topics. Maybe some more horror lighting?
Horror is fun!! Thank you!
And happy early birthday!
Thank you!
Thank you for the great info. Do you white balance first before using false color? And how much does white balance effect the false color values? Thank you.
Please do a Video on designing color pallettes and creating luts before shooting to achieve the desired look on set. Enjoy all your videos! Love from India
That’s a good challenge!! Thank you
@@BradyBessette Looking forward! Cheers
Favourite video: How to light a candlelit scene: ua-cam.com/video/EawZxDiaA-I/v-deo.html And a close 2nd would be the budget moving car scene lighting.
What I would like to see is the correlation between lighting, pushing ISO and arranging the WB also in correlation with the lighting. Maybe I am asking for too much lol!
Hey I like this!!! Thank you!
I really liked your rainy car scene video, the dynamic lighting and how you made the scene was amazing. I would really like to see more specific scenarios of how to set up lighting like a tutorial for a dinner scene or a candle lit shot!
Congrats on 75k subscription!!! Just wondering, do you often use a light meter? If so, I think it will be a great tutorial on how and when to use a light meter
Not too often do I !
And thank you!!
@@BradyBessette thank you for creating so many informative contents!!! I have learned a lot from you!!!
Your video is HDR?
Looks like log to me in my display
Favorite video so far "How to Make a Rainy Car Scene | Cinematography". Obviously for your perfect explanation, but also because it was the first video I saw from you and made me subscribe!
In the future, maybe a comparison between those cheap bright LEDs + difusion vs Godox SL-60W or the new Aputure lights in that price range 🤙🏼
Thank you very much for this!
Genial, Brady. Uno de mis vídeos favoritos es el tutorial de hacer "Día por noche" junto a Sara
Hey hector! Thank you so much
Do you also edit your clips in Resolve or just color grade? Great and informative video, thank you!
Edit and color all in resolve! Thank you
Brady seriously thanks for covering false color haven't been able to use it yet but I've been looking into getting the ninja, particularly really appreciate telling us which colors represent shadows and highlights and What colors are for skin tones 👍🏻👍🏻 I watch a lot of videos from other UA-camrs And you see this tool all the time but they never talk about it So thank you!
My favorite video is the DIY softbox. video ideas:
- Any tutorial in DaVinci Resolve.
- How to light a probe lens scene.
- Bring your smartphone videography to the next level
- Most usable gear under 100$
- More movie movie scene recreations
These are awesome, thank you!
Finally the YT algorithm suggested something interesting for a change!:D
I would love to see a video about blocking a scene or how to direct actors, there are a lot of channels that talk about the technical aspects of the industry but there aren't many that delve into stuff like planning a scene out from start to finish.
Hey Tek! Thank you!!!
I think my favorite video of yours is recreating The Social Network. Recreating a style allows you to go crazy on the look, so I kinda whant to see how you would do with a "strong visual" movie, like a 300, Only God Forgives, ...
Road to 100k !
Thank you Otis!!
How to light a Night Scene and the One Light Video. Would like to see creative ways to use a Fresnel
Good challenge that I’m up for! Thank you
Very educational, thank you very much!
Great content man! Quick question, my Feelworld monitor allows me to use false colours either with or without the corrective LUT applied. Is it best to use false colours against a log image or the corrected Rec709 image?
I would say fluctuate from the rec and log just to make sure, it’s where you want it. But LOG will give the accurate if you’re clipping on either end
1: Subbed. 2: Rainy car scene. 3: Lighting in bright locations such as sunny beach.
4: Has anyone told you that you look like the lead singer of Nickelback?
Lol yes many times
The first video I saw of yours was the "How to Light a Night Scene" and was super helpful/inspirational. I still have some catching up to do.
A video I would like to see and in honor of your giveaway is lighting with small lights and/or 3 of them. I have mostly smaller lights, ones that are inexpensive and portable. There seems to be things I can do with them such as a fill to balance things such as indoor sunlight or help with light consistency. The little RGB panels lighting a background or built in effects being useful. Would be great seeing what could be done by someone with more experience and from your garage video you seem know what do with all those Apertures. Doing more with less also helps being portable and lightweight when possible.
This is all so helpful thank you so much
The first video I fell in love was how to light tight spaces like how to make the moonlight and sunlight ambience in a room. Ans I've tried it myself. And I really enjoyed the process.. also .is there a specific lighting to light sci-fi?? Uk like in avengers end game .the lighting was so bizzar. Like soft and hard. And kinda crazy so.if u can add a new segment .I think lighting of sci-fi will be great.
I think I gotta study more!!
I was just seeing you opinion on what type of light domes you would recommend. Size and brand. I understand that Bowens mounts are the most universal, but brand and size suggestions. Especially for someone getting their first 2-3 lights.
I would say a 42” would be great, maybe a mini one as well (28”ish)
I knew nothing about false color other than it seemed to be a 'buzzword' that I needed to know to sound cool. LOL. Good tut. And my fav vid to date is lighting a night scene you did with your equally talented GF who sings like a friggin' angel. And more 'how to' vids using situations that are applicable to a lot of people. Anything business related are always welcome. We spew about the latest and the greatest but so many of us know little to nothing about the business side of things. Rock on.
This is the nicest comment ever thank you so much
Nice and clearly explained as always, thank you.
I really like the lighting for outdoors video, and in the future I'd like to see a location scouting walkthrough video.
I like that! Thank you
Just got my external monitor and never used false color before. This was super helpful! Thank you!
My favourite video was "how to light a rainy car scene" and i would love to see a video about how you plan your shoots.
Hey thank you!
I don't get why they chose to go from Grey to green to grey to red to grey... It really doesn't make a huge amount of logical sense to me.
me either, it's confusing
Hey Brady, I love the video on how to light with just practical lighting! I think I’d like to see a video on how to light for 16mm film :)
Oh 16mm! Gotta find it first
My compliments!! You are very top! I like a lot your lighting tutorial....very clear!
Thank you so so much
All your videos are very helpful for beginners as well as pros. My fav video of yours is your cinematographey reel. I would like to see the bts of such footages. Thanks for the giveaway.
Thank you so much!
HELPFUL video thanks
Thank YOU
My favourite video was maybe the breakdown of a prodction of yours like the Hockey one. I love it and you can bring some of that content more often! Hug from Portugal!
Ok ok ok! Thank you
Very helpful video. I've always tended to expose by eye, zebras and waveform but I'll definitely use false colour as well in future.
I’m glad this helps!! Thank you!
oohhhh very good explanation man!!!!! but really I cant with all these colors its to weird for me :)
It makes sense slowly but surely!
How to Light a Night Scene (the one on the couch) super dope! I think a video with small space cinematic lighting would be awesome!!
You got it, thanks Adam!
Congrats for the 75k subs!!! My favorite video on the channel is the Diffusion Scrim DIY I’ll love to see more videos like that. For indie filmmakers on the cheap side of life 😉
This is by far my favorite video! Maybe a video about the Atomos Ninja/external recorders in the future?
Let me see what I can cook up!!
Hey Brady. I know u filmed a sad rainy scene in a car. But will. It be possible to show me how to film a rain scene especially if it's raining in the morning. And the subject is like drinks a hot cup of tea siting next to a window how do you light that scene.
Tomorrow a rainy night interior scene comes out! I hope that helps
How to light outdoor daylight probably my fav
I loved the car lighting setup scene and the one in motion because I want to make a short film just like that. I would love to see you make a cinematic scene with just a full frame camera like the Canon eos r. Enjoy the content!!!
I used to always shoot with my R, fun challenge!
idk what i learned but i learned something
Really great video! Should this be applied pre or post LUT?
pre lut! to see what info is still there while raw
I really liked the rainy car scene!. Also I would love to see a tuorial recreating Suspiria´s lighting, the original version.
Just adding it to my list!
Great Video, One video Besides those ProMist Videos, ‘ In Camera Shooting For that Movie Look, Not Film Grain, From The Video Cam Look To A Movie Look, Everyone Got Cinematic all confused with actual Shooting for it. Thanks
Hey bro i love every content that you created. You have great teacher. I wanna see more stylstic lightning tech.by the say if i have to choose öne of your video, it would be booklight video tech. Best.
Thank you so much!!
Liked your video "How to Adjust Lighting For Wide and Tight Shots" which gave a real sense of how to achieve lighting cohesiveness across a multitude of shots in a scene. Would love to see some Lighting BTS on some of the projects that you are working on to see your process step-by-step in action. Thanks & keep up the GREAT work!!!
Love the how to set your white balance vid! Would like to see a David I resolve break down on color correction! I have an og bmpcc and desperately need a breakdown!
Ok thank you!!
I enjoyed the diffuser filter comparison video. Id like to see more on the post production side of your filmmaking workflow
Thank you so much, noted!
Subscribed! Glad I found your channel. I'd like to see a lightweight run and gun BMPCC4K setup for long hikes. 😀
Oh boy, rig EVERYTHING lol
@@BradyBessette Lol. I'd like to see a real world scenario with 10 miles of hiking and a fully rigged out unit... monitor, focus wheel, 95 V-mount battery and plate, etc. That'll be fun! 😁
Dude great video, I dont usually comment but this was very helpful!
Thank you so much , really
I love many of your videos. One of my favorites was the rainy car scene. I would love to see some videos on lighting outside during different times of the day.
That’s a good challenge ! Thanks josh!
Sara's latest M/V in the garage, hands down my fav vid.
I'd love to see some audio related content.
That’s awesome thank you so much
Really liked your video on how to light a night scene, and also on how to defuse light. I would like to see from you more about room tone lighting and more about sunlight indoors scenes
You got it!!! Thank you
Love the videos on lighting car scenes! I’d love to see a video with your thoughts on different aspect ratios! Love the channel.
Good concept, I like it!
Your class on lighting basement was really help on my last project... and can you please do more classes on cinema cameras🧎
Yes! Thank you
My favorite video is getting perfect exposure outdoors and maybe a tutorial on using a light meter!
That’d be fun!
False color definitely changed my game at cinematography & I wish I knew it much earlier back when I started out! So if you’re starting out do this and don’t waste your time 👊🏼
if I set exposure to pink it gives me around 512 IRE, isn't that to low? more popular would be around 640
I think this video and The Social Network are my favorite videos, also it would be nice to see more technical videos like this one
Thank you so much
Shhhhhh
Thanks, I always skip this mode because i never understood it.
Now you can :)
Awesome video, as usual, one of my favorites, but my absolute favorite is the one you lit a garage like a pro. You should make a video about the dual Iso logic, specially on the BMPCC-4k. There are some interesting and confusing points that could be dived in. Differences in Dynamic Range on the lower and higher ISO, how noise is affected by the change in ISO. Is 1250 less noisy than 1000? How do you work with it? You know what I mean... There is some content already, but since you have very didactic approach, I am interested to see what you would say.
Oh!! The DiY Scrim video is also awesome! It inspired me to make one of my own! haha
That’s a million dollar question. Let me look into it!
Hi, Once again a very useful tutorial and love the way you finish your videos "Class Dismissed " :-). My favourite video on your channel so far is the Cove lighting technique, it was simple to learn but effective. In the future I would love to learn how to light a moving character in a scene. say eg. if the character moves across while talking on the phone to another room or a large hallway. Thanks in advance. Good luck all!
I actually really like this!!
expose for what you cant control. Thanks for that gem
A (not so) hidden secret !
My favorite video was the one with the rain and the car, I would like to see a video off how to expose right with only natural light outside thx
Awesome! Thank you
"How to make a Rainy Car Scene" is one of your best breakdowns. Recreating more Hollywood Scenes would be great. Congrats on the 75 k Subs!
Thank you so much
My favorite is recreating hollywood scenes
My favorite video was watching you light the car shot, and honestly i would love to see a video as to what you would recommend as a beginner videographer to definitely have or think about purchasing when they start. Right now i have a bmpcc4k with a couple of nikon photography lenses. But i can't decide if i should buy some more lenses, invest in lights, or buy a better gimbal/stabilizer.
Next week might help you out! I got a great video coming !
@@BradyBessette I’m excited
Learning a lot from your videos ,love from india 🇮🇳

Brady this was amazing. You explained False colors so well. Nobody hasn’t explain them better than you. This will definetely help me with my exposures. . One question. What’s your preference and method for skin tones? This shot has beautiful tones. False colours looked green on your face rather than pink. I feel like I try too much get skin tones on pink areas. All your shots always look outstanding.
Thank you so so much! I honestly don’t do much, proper exposure and Blackmagic color science is fantastic
@@BradyBessette Thanks I will start doing exposures like you with your lighting tips :)
bet u gona hit the 100k within the next month u the best video maker rn!!!! no cap
Pshhh I wish. Thank you!
Great Video as always Brady! Love watching every upload you put out, I always learn so much. For the give away, do I just tell you my favorite video of yours and what I'd like to see in the future? If that's the case, my favorite video that you've done has to be 8 film looks with 1 light. I love how resourceful you are. And something I'd like to learn about is using pantyhose or some sort of fabric in-between the lense and the camera sensor. Well, keep up the great work!
I’ve never actually heard of that!! But thank you!
@@BradyBessette I saw a little bit of it from a video of the making of The Haunting of Hill House.
This one because it's a giveaway
Professor Brady! I've been waiting for this!
Have I told you I love you?
My favorite video (so far) was honestly the "How I Shot and Lit This in a Garage." Even though it was a more recent video, I found it really inspiring since I shoot music videos myself. I'd really love to see a video on your BTS workflow. I find it so difficult to get good BTS footage while working on a project while I'm so focused on the main shots. I'd really love to eventually start a UA-cam channel and could use some expert knowledge!
Hey Brady, great video as always man ! You’re the BEST.

Thank you very much!
Loved this video on false color! I would love to see how to create teal and orange via lighting.

Favorite Video so far was the lighting for the garage video. I plan to use something similar for a music video. Also what I'd like to see more of are videos showing the pre-production process, planning out shots. What goes into your decision for your shot selections that you choose.
