It was, for a long time, considered one of the most dangerous regions of the city, due to constant clashes in the area's favelas. The region was a sub-neighborhood that belonged to the neighborhood of Jacarepaguá, but, by municipal decree, it was dismembered from Jacarepaguá, and officially became the Cidade de Deus neighborhood. In the beginning when Marreco (Goose) laughs at Dadinho calling him "Little Fart" what he actually said was "Charuto Preto" (Black Cigar) which is relating to them being lightskin and dadinho being really darkskin, I know people say that subtitles lose a lot, but unfortunately for this movie the subtitles are also badly done

Man, Cidade de Deus (City of God) was built many kilometers from the city center to be a large housing complex for poor people who were removed from the slums near the richest neighborhoods. You can see in the first scenes that it was occupied before it was completely ready, because there was a big flood in 1966, which left many people homeless and forced the government to allocate people in Cidade de Deus. Initially it wasn't a favela, but it became over time, and this can be seen in the following scenes. So, at first, it doesn't look like that stereotype of a favela, as it was a large housing complex.

Por conta de um react de uma musica dos racionais eu parei de ver os videos dele,nao lembro bem mas acho que foi a musica SOU 157,ele falava tudo o q ia rolar no clipe.Dai já fiquei de orelha em pé.
Hoje me deparo com esse react e resolvi dar mais uma chance.
