    Your cake looks beautiful. Watching you brought back fond memories of my mom and nana. My Mom insisted the following. First time, follow recipe exactly. No tinkering! Have all your recipes measured, set aside and room temperature. Measure properly. Eggs, one at a time, same as you said. Use quality ingredients, like real extracts. Can’t wait to try your pound cake. Haven’t found one similar to my Moms. Thank you.

    My mama used to make this and I came searching for the recipe (or one similar to hers - she never wrote it down, just did it from memory). i am going to be making this recipe today in her memory (I sadly lost her before she could teach me - or rather before I really felt I needed to learn the recipe). Thank you for this - it is the closest thing I have found to watching her make it! She always put it in a cold oven (don't ask me why) and if you slammed a door, opened a window, or even talked loudly she swore the cake was going to fall. Those little bits at the end made me realize this had to be the closest to her cake!

    I've made this cake with the pan both sprayed...and with the pan buttered and floured...and it tastes MUCH better with the pan buttered and floured. It also allowed for an easier release from the pan. Why are brown eggs better for baking a cake? I agree 100%...but I was just wanting to know if my thoughts are the same as yours because I went to vet school and was told all eggs are the same. I don't agree though. By the way, you introduced yourself as 'Chef'...where did you go to cooking school? If you use salted butter, do you omit the salt? You said it's important to not over mix this batter...but doesn't flour being added all at once make it over mixed? That is one beautiful batter.

    I agree a slower Oven at 325° with a longer time makes good sense.
    The only suggestion for next time, the music made it a bit harder to hear some things you said. Like I didn’t hear the mention of using regular flour if we don’t have Cake Flour. But overall I’m gonna give this recipe a try tonight.

    I've heard that using a mixer for the flour addition results in a tough cake, as opposed to folding the flour in by hand, which results in a smoother, softer texture to the cake. Also, my experience (but only one cake, with a mixer, so that isn't enough to verify that), can you help me out ?

    Crispy Rustic Pound Cake ?
    Hi, I’ve baked several Pound Cakes in a Bundt pan ~ all have been wonderful. But one was especially good. Somehow the exterior had a bit harder crust ( the inside was still moist.) We liked that one best, but I have no idea how it happened ! 🙂 Please help me recreate that crispy Pound Cake ~ any ideas ?
    Tx,
    Kevin

    • @cookingwithlovechefgreen9539
      @cookingwithlovechefgreen9539  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Kevin! There are a number of reasons why that one cake would have turned out the way your family and you really liked it. Let’s just try these possible solutions first.
      1. Grease your cake pan with heavy shortening and dust lightly with flour.
      2. Bake it longer (10-15 minutes over normal time; while keeping watch so that it doesn’t burn)
      3. As it relates to the top of the cake…sprinkle egg whites all over the top of the batter before baking.
      Please, let me know if this helps! I’m always here to help! Thanks for watching!💜💜💜

      Great day to you!!! Thank you!!!😁 Yes, they can be. Eggs play a number of rolls in baked goods. So, if you’re wanting to have a lighter, more fluffy outcome, I suggest using a total of 6 teaspoons of baking soda mixed with 6 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Stir them separately, then add it just before the extracts. If you desire a heavy, more rich outcome, use a vanilla or plain soy yogurt (1-1/2 cup) before the extracts. I hope this helps! Let me know if I can help further. 💜💜💜
