Yes i totally agree the pixel 6a is the perfect amount of weight to screen ratio. The original pixel 6 is so damn heavy. I was worried the seven would be the same so thank you for clarifying this for me
I have a pixel 6. I looked at the 7 and 6a in store out of curiosity. I actually felt more drawn to the 6a. I preferred the display on the 6a as it seemed brighter ( at normal max brightness) and more vibrant. The 6a also felt wonderful in the hand . The 7 appears a bit blingy and reminds me of a makeup mirror
Thanks for the comparison … Yeah really debating on which one to get it but I ended up getting the seven because the screen brightness is a lot better , wireless charging, slightly better camera and definitely a better modem so it’s not getting warm like the 6 or the 6a. The 7 also released with android 13 so it will get one more year of support than the 6a which was released with android 12 and then upgraded the 13 so it’s already got one of it’s years of upgrade.
I was lucky enough to get a PIxel 7 on sale just yesterday. 2 days before Thanksgiving and I bought it for $399. With those kinda savings I sprang for the Google insurance as well. I think i'm gonna love this phone.
I have the 6a and just got the 7 yesterday. While I enjoyed the smaller size of the 6a, it felt more buggy than the 7 and doesn't feel nearly as premium in the hand. Also, the call quality on the 6a was pretty horrible with alot of static. The 7 just feels like a more stable phone that only gets slightly warm at times. The 6a wasn't as bad as the 6 on overheating but it's still more noticeable. Having used both of them I would recommend the 7 over the 6a. It feels way more premium and in my opinion worth the $150 difference.
Do you see differences in picture quality. Many revieuws says there is no significant difference in normal daylite conditions. And how can a smaller en less heavy device like the 6a, feels more buggy? Can you explain what you mean?
Your description of the pixel 6a is the total opposite to mine for the price it's a great phone call quality is good even though it has a plastic back you wouldn't notice if nobody told you build quality is good everything works as it should now it has had a couple of updates very much recommend the pixel 6A

The iphone is a tad more snappy, but no discernable difference in performance etc. My pixel 6 was only a bit buggy during the first couple of days then it settled right down . It never over heats either. Some units probably experienced problems, but I think other brands experience similar problems

Funny I have the 6a and got the pixel 7 because I was getting it for free with an iPhone trade in. I do find myself using the 6a much more than the 7. I think it's a size thing for me I don't really feel the 6a in my pocket. The 7 is just about the same size but those ever so slightly smaller dimensions make a huge difference.
If you're into photography get a Nikon camera or something like it, pixel 6 pixel 7 or whatever , take great pictures, and in most cases people that look at the pictures taken by any phone I don't have an eye for photography they just want to look at the subject example the grandchild or the girlfriend/boyfriend

We like the 7 design and of course an extra cool other things but in reality all these heavy phones is not practical though we should have another light weight phone so it can fit in out pocket and for the daily basis
Bro, you will need a case anyway. No matter if it's plastic or glass. If the phone hits a concrete it's basically game over or in the best scenario you'll have a bad bruise.

I haven't had heating issues that people have with the 6A. Even playing games it took a good long while before it started getting hot and when it comes to day-to-day only when I put it on the charger

@@paolotisato3144 I have somewhat made a decision, I think 6a with tensor is quite capable so I will give it a shot, 7 seems not much of an upgrade on 6a barring few changes to hardware, even with that 7 needs refinement when it comes to the software and utilisation of hardware to it's full potential. I think it's best to get a 6a and upgrade in a couple of years time to a more premium settled hardware and software integrated device. Also, pixel devices will get a bit inexpensive from next year onwards in India; Google has started manufacturing here thus I feel it's best to wait it out for now.

Better off with the 6a. The P7 fingerprint sensor is god awful and android auto constantly disconnects on the P7 (both are known issues on Google support website ). I have the P7 and it’s currently back in the box in my sock drawer.
LGM regarding the phone, i was thinking about 6a but settled for sony xepria 5 iii which has the same size , 6.1, with 120hz & ip65/68 . While its narrow body might not be great for gaming/ watching u tube, it allows very easy single hand operation. so far so good.
6a is better looking imo. They always talk about the more premium build and materials for the 7 but my phones usually gonna have a case on it anyways and I prefer a lighter phone, premium=hefty. The silver sides of the 7 look like an older iphone copy. The black sides and smaller camera bump look better. Smaller the phone=less distracting in daily life. I look at my phone enough, want to be on it less usually too. 😊

How did you find the comparison between the two OLED panels? I'm on my 2nd Pixel 7 and it suffers from the "raibow effect" or pink hue at certain angles, which kind of spoilt my experience. I'm not overly impressed with the camera either, it doesn't seem to be using the full 50mp sensor and coming from the Pixel 5, I'd say that was a lot better!
Pixel 6 and 7 both have rainbow effects, unfortunately it's the parts Google used on the phones I'm guessing to keep the price down. 6 has a red tint with and colors pop more on adaptive color mode, the pixel 7 has a yellow tint and colors are a bit more muted on adaptive.

The 6a has a better camera than the 7. Even the 5a has a btter camera than the 7 and 7 pro. The samsung new 50mp sensors are not producing pixel trademark images like the sony sensors from previous generation of pixel phones. The sony sensor + google computational photography prowess has been wonders for years since the pixel 2. I think, google needs to tune a bit more the camera of their flagship phones like the 6, 6 pro, 7 , 7 pro because the images dont look as good as the budget devices 5a and the 6a.
I would definitely take a pixel 7 over a 6a, period. It's a better newer phone with bells and whistles that I want in a smartphone 6a is alright but that's about it

Got the 6a because it was free at Verizon. I only wanted it as a backup to my iPhone 13 Pro Max, so that was perfect for me!
