シノプシス：
少女は魔女にこき使われている。ひたすらジャガイモの皮を剥く。嫌気がさした少女はそこから逃げ出そうとする。しかし魔女の魔法に阻まれてしまう。ここにいたらずっとこのままだと思った少女は魔女をやっつける決心をするが…。はなしの終わりで彼女は何を考えるのか。はたして少女のいとは？「覆水盆にかえらず」のひっくり返ったお盆を元に戻す話。

A girl is kept on the trot by a witch and continues to peel potatoes. She is fed up and tries to escape in vain. She gets desperate and decides to beat the witch... After all what she will find? What is her intention? Can we undo what has been done?

Okay, so the way I see this is it’s a cycle of abuse. The witch can be represented as a mother, and the girl as her daughter. The mother abused her daughter (which is represented by the girl serving the witch). The girl has thoughts about escaping (standing up to her mother), which is shown by her stabbing, and hitting the witch, which doesn’t do anything, because these scenes take place in the girl’s mind as ideas rather actual actions. The one time she does stand up for herself (with the water), she ends up pushing the witch to her breaking point. She ends up accidentally killing the witch (which represents the daughter coming of age, moving out, and going on her own without her mother to control her). However, in many cycles of abuse, the child will end up becoming just like their parent, which is shown when the girl gains her own magic just like the former witch. It’s a cycle of control and abuse that never really ends, because she didn’t get the help she needed to overcome the traumatic events she went through.

So, my understanding of this is the witch captured her, and probably grew fond of her and wanted her to stay. Maybe that's why she kept putting more potatoes. And then the girl found out if she filled the buckets with water then she could be free from doing work (?) and she accidentally killed the witch and realized this. And she went back to peeling potatoes and turned into a witch, the end.

she was miserable and uncomfortable and enraged plus her problems amplified with this entity around and then she accidentally destroyed it and it stopped and then nostalgia ensued and she was miserable without her typical problems so she fabricated/manifested another problem out of her own material driven by her anger and misery thats why there were red threads sizzling around her fingers that red thread that stands for her hidden rage thats haunting her its the same threads that she is formed of the same threads holding her together so that she is formed into a character

La chica creía q se la pasaría de esa forma siempre y decidió escapar a pesar q luchaba con la bruja, la empujaba, hasta la acuchilló creo, la bruja nunca le respondió con violencia... solo le mandaba a pelar papas, ... luego cuando se deshizo de la bruja no se fue... porque se dio cuenta q la bruja era su Madre.
Cuando somos adolescentes solo pensamos en salir y descubrir la vida de allá afuera, y vemos los quehaceres como una obligación. Pero sin nuestros Padres nada somos.....

As I see it, this animation represents the false feeling of freedom. While the girl is stuck (It could be in real life anything that limits our actions), forced to peel potatoes, she wants to break free. The witch could represent many things that keeps us from reaching that goal: rules, laws, politicians, parents, whatever you may think of. However, when the girl finally overcomes her obstacles, she does not identify any kind of freedom beyond that zone she was in. As a consequence she stayed in the same place, doing the same thing.
The magic the witch had, was her capacity to be free. And when the girl got her own she still remained imprisioned, but she did it to herself.
"Freedom is a prison cell".

De acuerdo, la forma en que veo esto es que es un ciclo de abuso. La bruja se puede representar como una madre y la niña como su hija. La madre abusó de su hija (que está representada por la niña que sirve a la bruja). La niña tiene pensamientos de escapar (enfrentándose a su madre), lo que se demuestra con su apuñalamiento, y golpeando a la bruja, lo cual no hace nada, porque estas escenas tienen lugar en la mente de la niña como ideas en lugar de acciones reales. La única vez que se defiende (con el agua), termina empujando a la bruja a su punto de ruptura. Ella termina matando accidentalmente a la bruja (que representa a la hija que alcanza la mayoría de edad, se muda y se va sola sin que su madre la controle). Sin embargo, en muchos ciclos de abuso, el niño terminará volviéndose como su padre, lo que se muestra cuando la niña obtiene su propia magia al igual que la antigua bruja. Es un ciclo de control y abuso que en realidad nunca termina, porque no recibió la ayuda que necesitaba para superar los eventos traumáticos por los que pasó.

Jajajaja yo también pensé que era algo como síndrome de Estocolmo, pero también parece tener sentido eso de que en realidad era su madre (la bruja) y la adolescente solo quería escapar de su prisión (su casa)

no son dibujos, es una técnica de animación llamada "stop motion" utilizan muñequitos reales hechos de algún material y los animan por medio de fotografías.
ya el poder de la edición le añade cosas que en la vida real no se puede qbidkq pero así es, es increíble, en lo personal prefiero mucho este tipo de animación que la digital o por dibujos.

I see it as the witch is an abuser who puts too much expectations on the victim. The victim feels obligated because the abuser is never satisfied and there’s more and more expectations appearing out of thin air. The victim is clearly uncomfortable, sleepless nights, nervous facial expressions. Probably has no where else to stay without the witch, also the witch trapped her by playing mind games. Until the victim finally found peace with it and had fun with the expectations on her own terms. Thus the witch gets jealous and dismisses the victims progress & efforts, creating more of a loophole for the victim. The victim thinks of scenarios that lead her to come up with a way that gives the witch a taste of her own medicine & a sense of freedom. She finds that filling up buckets with water will do the trick, replicating the potatoes, which both represent expectations(?) Once the witch gets a taste of her own medicine, she has a MELTDOWN instead of accepting her karma with grace. The victim finds freedom in the witches meltdown, but also guilt. So she stays trapped in a hell loop of her own making, with the door wide open due to guilt. Thus repeating the cycle of abuse instead of accepting the situation as it is to create her own closure. All in all, closure isn’t pretty. Move on with acceptance or become what has hurt you.

The witch was actually her mother. When we are teenagers, we often feel "oppressed" by obligations and want to "escape" and "be free" but we still need our parents. the witch at no time physically assaulted her, she only gave her more potatoes, but in the end when she has a chance to escape, she doesn't. without our parents we are nothing.

I think that in the story, deep down she didn't mind peeling potatoes and the witch having to make more. Yeah sure she was to do that forever in life probably and the witch started attacking her after she started doing mischief, but they had a some sort of mutual relationship during that time. Plus I think they've been living together their entire lives because if she has anywhere to go back to, then why would she decide to stay based on her quick flashbacks on what they did together?
