I will never again let ANYONE touch my hair with heat. I went to a salon THE DAY OF MY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION with hair down to my boobs, walked out with it above my shoulder. She burned my hair out and then tried to hide it with a "trim". Check your professional stylists out, because some have no clue what they are doing.

It is funny how when us naturals straighten our hair we can't wait to wear our curly look again! :o) But that is why I love the versatility of natural hair!

I sweat at my roots, but use Flexi rods and the tension straightens them out without reapplying heat. It also looks like a fresh body wrap every day.

I feel the same way when my hair is straight. It's like I'm over it after a week and I miss my big hair. Straight is so average! Big hair is so fabulous!

I think I may try this method! I just hate the fact that I need to do touch ups also, which is why I sometimes don't like wearing out my hair. It's better to do protective styles where I don't have to manipulate it alot you know?

I know what you mean when you say you feel like you look bring with straight hair. I even feel weird with some straight wigs! I just love big, curly, fluffy, messy hair!

LOVE the comment " I almost feel kinda regular".....when referring to her straight hair. Missing the curls....I totally feel the same way. Got a blowout 6 months ago and after about day 3.........I missed "my hair"......lol....Rocked a 3-day soft twist out today!!!.....Looking like Erykah Badu with definition ;)

***** I agree with her response. I also wanted to add that grease contains mineral oil so you may want to stay away from that :-) once I cut my permed hair, my hair sprouted like.crazy and I'm now back to my original length as a natural. Good luck on your journey!!

What about exercise. I know you try to workout but I'm sure that will ruin your hair. Thats why I dont bother with straightening my hair anymore.

Gabe, I was just wondering have you been working out daily? If so, do you sweat a lot in your scalp? I'm just amazed that it hasn't reverted back with you working out regularly. Revised...just realized you said you do work out daily. Wow. You really kept it up good. I work out a lot. I think my hair would revert back very quickly. Its really beautiful...

Your hair is gorgeous & its definitely grown. I straighten my hair like twice a year as well(in order to trim), and it usually lasts about 2 weeks, but then I look in the mirror and realize just how much I miss my big hair. Then I'm off the shower to freely and happily get my hair wet.....lol!

I remember stretching my relaxed hair and never did touch ups after working out.I just wrapped my hair suuuuuupppppper tight.Almost headache tight(yeah i know)
The flatter the wrap the straighter the hair in the morning

One thing that helps me while working out is wrapping my straight hair and not taking it out until my roots are completely dried. It helps reduce the puffy roots.

i have a blowout to and my mom usually wraps it but lately I've been tired of getting it wrapped so she just told me to put it in a high ponytail and i put my silk cap on and it works really well but maybe i'll try the pineapple method too:)

I feel regular when my hair is straight too! It's like I blend in with the crowd and I hate it. Even if I am in the room with other naturals none of our hair is all the same even if it is and I love that about my natural hair. When it's straight it's just straight.

Try pin curling your hair and spray your roots with some an oil sheen or natural oil spray to combat frizziness after work outs.
