The only other FOS song I have seen anybody react to Is "Space Age Love Song". It is very melodic and pleasing to the mind but I'm here to tell you the entire album these songs came from is dope. I wish you could react to "Standing In The Doorway." I just love that song.
Funny thing about the 80’s is that a lot of the time the video is just as important as the music. The studio version of this song and video was one of the first to appear on MTV and it was huge.
Having lived through this era, I'm definitely more a fan of the studio version and video. That was a big part of the magic, was the version all the kids were humming and singing, and playing on their TVs tuned to MTV. Live concert stuff had its place ("Hey, we're going to see Flock of Seagulls this weekend!"), but the studio release and video was in the _culture,_ you know?
This is definitely a banger from back in the day. This song was enormous throughout the early 80s. I have their first record on vinyl and feel like they never really got the appreciation they deserved.
A Flock of Seagulls were really brilliant. The guitarist, Paul Reynolds is a talented genius who was a teenager when he joined the band. His🎸riffs in the song, “It’s Not Me Talking” (live) is mind blowing. I ❤️ 80’s music! Thanks for sharing✌🏼
Total 80's on the hair styles. ☺ Definately their studio stuff sound better, but this live performance is on par. I used to jam their tunes in the 80's when I was overseas in the Marine Corp.
I've never seen a live version of this song. I was a young teenager when MTV first launched in 1981. Back then, they actually played music videos. That was the main thing MTV did, but they had a very limited number of videos initially to put in the rotation. That quickly changed as all bands started doing music videos. MTV played this Flock of Seagulls song so much I got sick of it. They are a very band of average talent that didn't do much. I think they had one other song that charted. Watch the version that played on MTV at this link: ua-cam.com/video/iIpfWORQWhU/v-deo.html
I love this kid, he has transcended time and space with musical taste and opening it up for other young kids...this song and video was a big deal when I was in Jr.high...lol
IF PEOPLE RECOMMEND YOU THIS , THEY WANT YOU REACT TO THE MUSIC VIDEO (studio version) try to react studio version for the First time hearing and then react live presentations
Oh man - the official music video was iconic. When it comes to 80’s songs especially, the music video is really important. The live and stage performances look poor by comparison. Everyone had to have an amazing video to get play on MTV. Kinda disappointed with this one 🙁

As Austin Powers, who was in cryogenic storage from the 60s to 90s said to someone he brought back from the 60s while time traveling about the decades they skipped over "I looked in to the 70s and 80s. Not much happened: an oil crisis and a flock of seagulls." :-D
It's not the original lineup though. It's the singer Mike Score with a backup band. However, the original members did reunite in 2003 thanks to VH1's "Bands Reunited" series and it spurned a short tour in 2004, before Mike ditched them and went back to his hired backup band. But the original members have reunited in 2018 and 2021 though to re-record several of their songs with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (the albums are called "Ascension" & "String Theory"). Sadly original guitarist Paul Reynolds suffered a stroke in early 2020 and I hope he's doing better (must be if he was able to record with the band in 2021). Paul was always my favorite of the band & such a shame the music biz basically broke him (he was only 17 when he joined & left by the time he was 22 as he couldn't handle the lifestyle).
Adogg, I just discovered your channel and have enjoyed many videos, but there are thousands of people doing what you do on UA-cam and while I'd like to continue watching YOUR reactions, I'll likely stop soon because you keep choosing the live in concert videos which for the most part are far worse vocally and musically than the studio recordings. I suggest you PLEASE watch the official videos/studio recordings. Most live versions sound terrible. Best of luck!
I love you watched a live clip instead of the regular video, so you could see how good this band really was live. The band members are: Ali Score (drums), Mike Score (synth/vocals), Frank Maudsley (bass) & Paul Reynolds (guitar). And yes Ali & Mike are related (brothers). They were one of the bands that defined the New Wave/Post-Punk/Second British Invasion sound of the early 80s. This song is off their first album, which was released in 1982. Some other songs by the Flock to check out: Space Age Love Song, (It's Not Me)n Talking, Messages, Nightmares, Transfer Affection, DNA (an instrumental they won a Grammy for), Never Again (The Dancer) & Man Made.
My favorite song of A Flock of Seagulls is "Nightmares," very haunting song. If you want a truly unique experience, check out The Hu, in particular one of their first songs to hit big, "Wolf Totem," the official video. While it is an experience to hear it without understanding the lyrics, if you do want to know what they're singing, turn on your English subtitles before you start the video and it will translate the lyrics into English. It is truly worth watching and hearing!
Bro.. you're bobbing.. same as my first time. Starts with that ice storm. You have no idea what's going on. And all of a sudden you hear that bass and just grabs you and then pulls you out of the storm and it just carries from there till the end. The buildup, the intro build up.. so unbelievably important. I miss that. Really really miss today. Quite common to have an intro well over minute.. 1:30.. It's your orientation. It sets the table.. gets you ready.. that is blast off from vocals till the end . and that fucking guitar.. I love those riffs Okay quick story. In the '80s we had these commercials that advertised the smash hits from like a year previous .. They'd play you a snip of the song.. no more than 5 seconds. That was my first experience with this song that 5 seconds on a commercial I was watching like Saturday afternoon cartoons. That trained my ear, so if it ever came on the radio, I instantly perked up.. and just start tapping to that circular avalanche of a rhythm...
80s bands could always pull off live performances, but the studio versions of most new wave music is worth checking out because the production on most of that music was on a whole other level. This was good tho. Very much like the stuidio, but a bit faster and more raw.
The album version is better. You should do Space Age Love Song (album version), and they recently did a version of Space Age Love Song with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It's definitely worth a listen.
OMG is right! Love this! I ❤️ that you’re loving A Flock of Seagulls!!! Classic 80’s new wave. I’ve always loved them, but I gotta say I’ve never heard them live. They’re really freaking good. Would recommend The More You Live, The More You Love Wishing Space Age Love Song
A Flock of Seagulls original band lineup. Mike Score- Lead Vocals, Keyboards Ali Score- Drums & Percussion Paul Reynolds- Lead Guitar & Backing vocals Frank Maudsley - Bass Guitar & Backing vocals
Went dancing in Hollywood 7 nights a week back in the 80s when these songs were gold....such great carefree memories. Love to see the youngins enjoying them nowadays....GO RAMS!!!
Back in the 80's every genre was played no matter what type of music you liked it was played and the people had real talent, I consider myself very lucky my music listening was from 60's,70's and the 80's and some of the 90's but not much
Paul Reynolds the young guitarist back in the 80s was the key to the success of a Flock of Seagulls. That is my humble opinion, but all the band members were very good.
This song was huge in the 80s. Reminds me when I lived in NY, and I went to a bar called the Poladium. This was 30 years ago, and cover was $20, beers costed $6. This was outrageously high back then for a city boy from Phoenix. The bar was the most incredible bar that I had ever seen. When I went to go to the restroom, it was huge. No joke there were more girls than guys in it, most snorting coke in the stalls. It was so unreal to me.
I saw them live in Orlando with The Fixx in 1986 with my buddy Michael B. a buddy firefighter... he died a little over a year ago and I miss him dearly!
Saw them perform at THE LITTLE WALDORF SALOON in Reno in the early 90's. "The Wall" is a local college bar and they have a lot of bands perform there. Was a great concert. Check out SONIA DADA. They are from the Chicago area I believe and I think y'all would enjoy them as well. Saw them twice at THE WALL in the 90's. Great R & B band.
I first heard this driving 4 hours up north to my sisters. I was on a curve on the highway when the first guitar solo kicked in and my jaw dropped. I had to take a double take.
Wow, the live version sounds even better than in the video! Nice. As a Gen-Xer, I can tell you that 80s New Wave is a rabbit hole worth getting lost in.
Those hairstyles back then were the primary cause of the hole that formed in the ozone layer. Well, that and the propellant used in Freon in air conditioning systems.
His song is about alien abduction perpetrated by attractive feminine space people. I think the intro and build up was meant to give us the feeling of a spacecraft landing.
Do we really need reaction videos? No! Or do you need someone to watch, how he/she / it reacts to any shit? No again. Definitely! Only peopal with no fantasy do reaction videos. We shpouild react on a reaction video. YEAHHHHHHH!
These guys were another one of the one hit wonders of the '80s another great one is player baby come back that is an awesome song and as good as it is the musicianship the singing I can't understand why they didn't have another hit so if you check it out you'll see
AFOS was NOT a one hit wonder. They had Space Age Love Song, Wishing, and several others. They won a Grammy in '83. They hold the record for band with most plays on MTV.
Who all hit that like button?

Oh they got their appreciation. They were just pissed that this song was so popular when they, as they said, had so many other good songs. 😐
U right man. Band's unbelievable
More 80’s please……Men At Work, Adam Ant, Howard Jones, Culture Club, Joe Jackson….
Yes yes yes!!

Great reaction A Dogg!

Space Age Love Song next.....
They were big when I was in high school--many many years ago. But it was fun to see them again, and even more fun to see you dance at 6:36 !!
Space Age Love Song is a great one by them and they still tour. Heard they are sounding great.
Yes!

I’ve seen AFOS live many times..… but studio version/official video is the way to go. Loved your reaction 👏
FOS ~ ‘Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)’. and
‘Space Age Love Song’

This was the 80's, when electronics enhanced musical instruments, not replaced them like most of the songs today.
Only other song that got air time was called space age lovesong guitar sounds like a synthesizer
React to Kajagogo..Too Shy same 80’s vibe!!
I saw them in concert 39 yrs ago . I was 15 .. this genre is known as New Wave .love your diversity in ur reaction choices. 🔥⭐️🔥
My generation was pretty damn cool..!
Not their best song. Try "space age love song"
React to their song Space Age Love Song please.
Cool band from the 80s. Nice hairdoos huh? Lol
Space Age Love Song...
One of my favorite bands of the 80's. Other great songs by them are Wishing and Space Age Love Song 😊
Yes, my favorite is "Space age love song"
Never heard them live, cheers bud.

New Wave Band
I ran so far away is the name. I think this is they're only hit of substance
Two more Top 30 hits: "Space Age Love Song" and "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)".
This is one of the songs I remember from when MTV used to have music videos on 24/7
The album version is better. You should do Space Age Love Song (album version), and they recently did a version of Space Age Love Song with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It's definitely worth a listen.
OMG is right! Love this! I ❤️ that you’re loving A Flock of Seagulls!!!

Who’s house?! RAMS HOUSE!!!!💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛 Love this reaction. This song never gets old
Saw them at the Beacon Theater in NYC in I guess 1983...my first concert, in HS...really cool.

You would have loved watching MTV in the 80's. MTV now...sucks! I miss the 80's🤗
Saw them perform at THE LITTLE WALDORF SALOON in Reno in the early 90's. "The Wall" is a local college bar and they have a lot of bands perform there. Was a great concert. Check out SONIA DADA. If you're interested in checking out more songs by them, "Wishing" and "Transfer Affection", are definite musts.
Try listening to "Don't Change," by INXS. You don't need to react to it, just listen. It is a classic 80's tune.
I think you would like Rage Against The Machine. Never mind it looks like you’ve been there done that. 😂
I first heard this driving 4 hours up north to my sisters. I was on a curve on the highway when the first guitar solo kicked in and my jaw dropped. I had to take a double take.
A Flock of Seaagulls - Space Age Love Song... I Wish I Had A Photograph of you
You should react to The Cure. My favorite song by them was Friday I'm in Love.
Wow, the live version sounds even better than in the video! Nice.
As a Gen-Xer, I can tell you that 80s New Wave is a rabbit hole worth getting lost in.
Should've done the studio version for this one. Acoustically, it sounds better. Good reaction.
Oh, very good live version! They really don't have a bad song! Especially on this album.
Yes, Mike Score is the lead singer/keyboardist and he has the most iconic hairdo of the 80's.
Those hairstyles back then were the primary cause of the hole that formed in the ozone layer. Well, that and the propellant used in Freon in air conditioning systems.
Digging that Realtree T man, i remember that band i was class of 82. I didnt listen to them but doesnt sound too bad now...lol..
His song is about alien abduction perpetrated by attractive feminine space people. I think the intro and build up was meant to give us the feeling of a spacecraft landing.
Adogg, you need to hear the Album version of this song. This one is good, but the album is better. Keep up the great reviews!
Man these guys The flock of seagulls I think they come out in the '80s or the '90s I don't remember
This live version is a poor imitation of the song that climbed the charts. Go listen to the album cut or original music video. THIS is not that good.
Absolutely love watching you young ones getting the same buzz out of this track like I did a looooooong time ago 😂❤
This was hella good how about trying Daveed diggs and Rafael Casal easy come easy go video banger song take it easy out there

I ❤ this group. This song is awesome live🔥And their MTV video is even timeless 😎
Please check out Graveyard Song by Ghost Dance Band! 🤘
Oh I remember this song now man yeah that's just a long time ago and like I said I think it's the 80s I'm sure it was the '80s
The one thing that was made fun of the most was their funky hairdos, and the name of the band. Didn't care much for them when they first came out.
I love this channel, where are you from? you sound like you have southern roots.
This song is pure Rockabilly. With a twist of synth.
They used play a pub by me on merseyside. Everyone knew they were going to be big
The coolness of this style is the COLDNESS of the vibe!
Please do “Wishing, I had a photograph of you”!
Greatest hair band ever it was all about the hair Aqua Net made a killing
first time i heard it live, its great and the guitar is brilliant and drums.
Gotta love 80s new wave
You should do Duran Duran
SO 80s ! LOVE it !
I 2nd THAT! 🤘
i hope you will watch the studio version music video. i love them
The story of a young heart by flock of seagulls
should have done the music video much better vocals than live

I love your channel, Adogg! ❤️
Omg the 80s hair!! It was such a fun time😜
Their MTV video to this song was pretty great
The studio version and video is better. Sometimes the live is not that great. lol
You're bring me back in time to my teen years.
