HOPP Summer Seminar Series: How Cellular Metabolism affect Cancer and Immune Cell Function

Dr. Santosh Vardhana is a physician-scientist. As a medical oncologist he specializes in caring for people with lymphomas, a form of blood cancer. As a researcher, he studies how understanding the metabolic behavior of immune cells can improve immunotherapies for human cancers. His research has identified alterations in cellular metabolism that contribute to immune dysfunction and cancer cell survival in tumors and viral infections.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Human Oncology Pathogenesis Program is offering a weekly virtual Summer Research Seminar Series, from July to August 2021. Each webinar consists of a one-hour lecture via Zoom. Though the seminars are geared toward high school students, we welcome all interested to attend.
