Great video. One question from a beginner. Can you do the basting stitch at the seam line and do the final stitching directly on top of basting stitches?

Better not to. When removing basting stitches, could also rip out regular stitches. Neater not to sew over anything you don't absolutely have to.
I have, but presser foot picked up and started pulling basting stitches sometimes, or thread decided to misbehave just because of sewing over looser thread.

I think it would probably be fine. As watching firs pointed out, you won't be able to remove the basting stitches but you may not want or need to remove them anyway. I personally have not had an issue with basting stitches getting caught on a presser foot.

The video is great, and tnx for that. However, the written pattern switches between inches and centimeters!! A bit confusing.

This was NOT totally helpful. You did not indicate whether the piping is first applied to the right or the wrong side of the fabric. Your fabric sample was the same on both sides.

So sorry about that. The piping is basted to the right side of the fabric. (If it's on the wrong side then it will on the inside of the garment.) Then the two pieces of fabric are sewn right sides together. I'll make an update to the show notes and add the link to the blog post.
