Not sure I get what is said in the last bit. What Nano Cortex has that the kemper player doesn't have? I think the Kemper Player with customizable 4fx blocks could even be a All-in-one pedal - especially with the upgrades (8fx blocks).
I think this should be treated as changeable guitar amp with some additional features, not as processor per se. That with Plethora or typical pedalboard will fit every needs. If someone needs full feature then Quad Cortex is the choice, it cost 1500 dollars. C’mon, everyone can buy Quad, even kids after summer work. Nano as replacement of dozens of high value amps for 500 dollars is no brainer!
Awesome review, it's clear you've been using the device. I appreciate hearing from a professional working musician. I own the nano, as well as an FM9 and other amps and gear. I am just a home player though and it works great for me. I really like the sound of captures. And I can even capture my Fractal presets. Could you not use the usbC on the nano for midi and hook an expression pedal to the other midi jack? It seems like that would work. I was able to use midi over usbC on the nano.
Yes, you can do that, but I was powering (and plan to keep powering) the unit through USB C rather than the 9 volt adapter. Most people will have a USB-C charger for their phone, and it's one less thing to pack for a fly date
Excellent video.
Many thanks.

Thanks!
It's good to see a Fractal fan using that gear from neural DSP... Coming from you is definitely a option
a worthwhile "on the go" unit
