Hey Rosh.......curious how you got the BIG FONTS on the FM9 footswitches? I know how to use the ZOOM button to enlarge the main display, but can't figure out the footswitch displays? Please let me know if you can. Thanks much!
Rosh my Gosh, what an awesome patch! It's the Holy Grail of patches!!!! This is the first patch that I've honestly felt like it is gig ready AND the foot controllers are programmed also! You made my New Year! Thanks so much!
Hi, great videos. I sold my Fm9 because I couldn't get to a stomp's parameters quickly without scrolling through menus or pressing a lot of buttons when playing live. If I can figure that out, I will most likely get another one. Can you tell my the quickest way to get to the parameters of a delay pedal or overdrive. Thanks, Frank
Hey Rosh! Your 'Gig Ready' Preset series is such a GREAT idea! I can't thank you enough for putting these together! I have a medium amount of experience with my FM9, but want to use it gigging while I gain more knowledge. This is a great tool for that! I happened to stumble upon this series, but guarantee there's a ton of Fractal users out there that would jump all over your presets for sale once they know about them. Thanks again brother! Much appreciated!
Hey Rosh, great video series. I am working my way through them now with my new FM9. I have an off topic question but it’s about something I noticed on the video. As I was creating the preset and scrolling the amps, I noticed that my unit doesn’t have some of the amps you have on yours. Specifically for this video, the Double Verb. I do have a Deluxe Verb Normal however. Am I missing something or was the Double Verb from a separate upload? My bot is not showing any available updates. Thanks!
Hi Rosh. Thanks for making these vids. Very informative. You said if there's any questions, feel free to ask. I have a few. 🙂 I had a Helix. It fried. Mainly, it was a glorified channel changer for my Engl PB2. Now I have an Axe FX3 MK2 Turbo. I still prefer my amp, but, it's an impressive piece of gear. For around the house, I'm using the Fractal through a QSC K 2 Series Powered Monitor. It's supposed to be FRFR, but all the high gain amps seem glaringly harsh, and have an unnatural low frequency I can't put my finger on. The Helix was the same. I have noticed that when going through a passive monitor, it's a totally different ballgame, and it sounded and felt more like a real amp and cab. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Also, I see most presets have the FX after the cab. What's the advantage of this vs having them after the amp and before the cab? Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays!
Hello. Is there any advantage or disadvantage of using mixer over demultiplexer to do the path selection (A/B function)?
If I go from output 3 to the return of the amplifier, then I cannot increase the volume because it simply does not work through such a connection to the head of the amplifier. My handle for output3 is turned clockwise to the end and the volume on the stage is not enough for me, what should I do in this case?
Hi Rosh, just watched your vid and thanks so much for sharing as it gives me a different perspective of setting up. I'm gonna try your setup for one of my presets. Just to ask from you experience, if you go Amp = Cab = wet effects = Output vs Amp = wet effects = cab = output.... In your opinion would there be a huge tonal difference? I'm gonna try this out when I get the time but thought of getting your opinion on this. Thanks again!
Hey Rosh, really enjoying the series. Thanks for putting this up. I just got the Mark II Turbo and Layout #8 is titled Sets-Songs. Is there still a way to build a new custom layout since there are no empty layouts available? Thanks again.
Very nice, man! Sounding great
Dear Rosh, thanks for the video. But I have a question! If I turn output 3 on to return the guitar amplifier and turn output three to the end clockwise, it happens that the volume from the cabinet is either a lot or not enough, since I am connected to the guitar amp through the return there is no way to turn the volume knob, in this case how to change the volume in both directions louder or quieter leaving the knob Output volume 3 clockwise to the end?
Great content Rosh. Thank you for helping me along my FM9 journey. at 13:05 it does sound like clipping though. Is it just the speakers I am listening on?
Excellent Josh…excellent. Great great info 💯
what would you do if you use IEM ? how will you be routing it? can you go in fm3 to get the iem sound? or you nned it from the FOH ?
Hey Rosh, how are you ? Would you mind helping me out on how to have a Compressor control the Wah high frequency boost on the FM3 please 😢? I'm really struggling to have a nice clean Wah sound for Reggae stuffs 😭
You saved my life. Subscribed!
Stumbled across this as I was using Loopback for other purposes however I'm curious how you monitored the AxeFX? Did you monitor it directly via Apollo's I/O or the AxeFX USB interface via Loopback? Getting the guitar audio into Zoom or Logic would work but monitoring the guitar via the modeller's USB interface in Loopback would add too much latency (well at least does for me with the FM9). How would you recommend setting this up for the Apollo Twin so you can keep stereo from the Fractal while having a mic taking up one of the Twin's Ins? Is that possible or is the only option to run mono in channel two of the Apollo and monitor directly?
NICE!! I have been reading the manual for an hour looking how to do this (upper limit/lower limit preset selection) but I don't think its in there. Greatly appreciated. Great videos by the way.
Scene controllers would also be a way to adjust parameters (Volume, gain, etc) between scenes with much more flexibility and ability to change multiple parameters.
I did excactly all your steps but i have no sound with my own preset .All the factory presets do have sound.
You may have a block in the preset set up woth the incorrect bypass state
You have a video that goes into the specifics of the tap tempo on the FC-12? I can't get the button on my board to work like you do here. The 'tempo' button on the front of the unit works but something is keeping the one on my board from working properly..
The tap tempo will generally work as an average or last two steps. I didn't cover that in the video in detail. However, on thr FC12 you need to assign a switch to the tap tempo
I am just about to place an order for an FM3 Turbo and I am a bit afraid of all the tweaks and settings I will need to make. I have just watched your video and it was very clear and useful. I will definitely go on with them, they will save me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you for creating these tutorials for us for free. In return, you earned my sub.
Awesome! Thanks much appreciated
God save the Rosh! This is what I was looking for. How cool it is when everything is shown live on the stage itself, this was so lacking. Thank you, my friend
You're very welcome!
Hi Rosh, great clip, great preset, just bought it.. one question: when in the per preset performance pedal layout, with all the pedals displayed, if you click on, say, the overdrive button and want to change the type of overdrive from the one you set for Channel A, to the one in B, C or D, how do you do that on the unit (if you don’t use FM9 Edit during the gig)? Tks again!
You'll need to go into the layout menu and use one of the ABCDE encoder knobs to change the channel. Then save.
@RoshRoslin Great, many thanks Rosh! Have a show in a barn in Tremblant, Quebec on December 13 with a bunch of friends. Look forward to using your Gig Reafy sounds! All the best.
You're a gentleman, Rosh. Appreciate all you do for the Fractal community
You're very welcome. Thanks!
These videos are just great, its like the real world , i use tube amps with pedal boards in front my entire life , recently switching to the axe fix III world and although hesitated especially for live gigs i get more confidence every time i see these tutorials , thanks for the sharing
Awesome! Thanks
I play a Novo Serus J with P90's. What preset do you recommend? Thanks And do they sound good with a Fender FR10?
I use a fender FR12. So i'm confident these will sound good. I would probably go with the Strat presets since the scale of the J is closer to a fender scale.
@@RoshRoslinThanks, I'm going to try 👍
Hi Rosh, nice job! Could you please share your global settings for Outputs 1, 2, and 3, i.e. +4/-10, copy L->R vs. Sum L->R, etc. Thank you.
Outputs 1,2 = +4dbu, Output 3 - Line Level. Copy L/R on all outputs (mono)
@ thanks!
Thank you! Much appreciated.
You're welcome!
Hi Rash, can you help me to setup with a video my axe fx ii in stereo? I need some guidance with cable and computer interface axe edit.
Hey Gabriele, I don't jave any tutorials of the axefxII, but you can email me at roshroslin@gmail.com and we can set up a 1:1 consult. Thanks!
Nice does it work similar in the AXE FX 2?
Similar.
Aww man. I did what you did at the 1 minute mark to clear out the switches and it wiped out all the previous patches I had built. I'm a newbie and not even sure how I made them before. I only use one amp with a clean and dirt using same amp with a touch more gain as a lead channel and had assigned to 2 of the ft.switches. Zero clue how to get back.
Super helpful as always. One of these days I'll be ready to gig my FM9.
Sounds great. Just wondering, not using a modeler, can I plug my line out pedal board in to the FR-12 powered speaker cab? I have a couple of overdrive pedals, a comp and delay.
Hi Rosh, many tanks for these great tutos. Do you know when the Setlist Layout for the FM3 will be released?
Great series, Rosh. Thanks from Spain
Thank you!
Great video Rosh. Do you have a link to all your patches for the FM9 that are for sale? Thanks
Thanks! Check out roshroslin.gumroad.com/
Can i use two amls at the same time like 2c+ and diezzy v4?
Would that also work for gt22 mastermind?
Hello. What are those end letters when you pick cabs recto st57m and then you have A ya, brt ya, c ya, d ya, drk ya and so on. Some of them just a b c d. Is it the same cab but under different setting? Or is different cab series?
Perfect for my Suhr Alt T. Thanks!
Awesome!
What’s that…the JCM 800 2203 is the next amp in the series….LOL….digging these demos
In the queue!
Pleas Quad Cortex

HI ROsh, Thanks for video. Actually i would like to ask as while using enhancer block or stereo delays i having issue with my setup as i am using single frfr unit (i know that obvious that this stereo effect and I am using mono) but is there setting i can do in fm9 to get this to mono I tried in audio setup copy L -> R and also Sum L+R nothing seemed to work for me
For the stereo enhancer to sound correct, you'll need to run stereo for the widening effect.
I quite by accident came across your tutorials after four years of mucking about with the AxeFX III. I had almost given up trying to understand it, let alone get it to work properly. Then you came along. Your clear, concise instruction has got me going; the results are so far spectacular - I really feel like I am heading in the right direction. I am sincerely grateful to you - and you have my deepest respect...Stay strong!
Thanks!
Not sure I get what is said in the last bit. What Nano Cortex has that the kemper player doesn't have? I think the Kemper Player with customizable 4fx blocks could even be a All-in-one pedal - especially with the upgrades (8fx blocks).
this is great. subscribed :D thank you
Thank you!
just got the fm9 coming from 12 pedals. 12 pedals is a lot easier to dial in a sound on the fly. This just seems like a super complicated way to do something that's easy. I may send mine back.
I’m 7-8 months in with fm9 I can say it gets a bit better.. I’ve spent on average 7-8 hours a week on videos manuals and working the fm9 which I don’t really have trying to get better. It’s definitely a commitment I think I can say I’m fully satisfied though
Rosh’s videos are amazing I’ve learned SO MUCH from him!
@@Just_virgeok?
This is great, as it demonstrates the interaction between the guitar volume, the different drives, and the input of the amplifier, which is the focus of improvement in the current firmware. Well done! I’m looking forward to your take on Marshall amplifiers and others if this is your plan.
Thanks! Definitely going to make some marshall presets in the near future
