Can you have the GBC007 hooked to your battery and also have another battery cable for a trickle charger attached to the battery?

Nice! The second cold morning I was at the Smoke Hole Restort and the PAS would not start. A couple of other bikers had a jump pack ( not sure what brand) but it would not start the bike. We had to jump it off of a Gold Wing. Not quite sure if was the bike or the jump pack. Either way I'm still gonna get one of these to start carrying around. Anything that good for you is good for me. Appreciated the content. Ride safe my friend. 👍👍

Helpful! I'd just been thinking about this setup when I came across your video. My BMW came with an dealer installed SAE pigtail for trickle charging, but I'm pretty sure narrow gauge wire used wouldn't be suitable (or even safe) for use with a high capacity jump starter. Obviously the CBC007 solves that issue, but I suspect that once installed, the proprietary connection opposite the battery terminals means I'm limited to only NOCO chargers, or can I use standard connections by simply omitting the NOCO adaptor?

I have a jump pack to put in my Ultra Limited. Since I haven't been riding my Ultra I put it in my Bolt EUV. The weather here in southern Ohio has hit the 30's for highs. A guy I work with at the Steel Mill has been riding his Pan America since he let his Mom use his vehicle till her new one comes in on Sunday. His Pan America wouldn't start the other day. Let him use my jump pack it fired right up. He has a brand new battery in his Pan America but the cold weather has been giving him a heck of a time. It don't want to start since it's so cold out. I have heard this is a issue with the Pan America's.

    • @Broncoride

The PA despises the cold for many, but I’ve never had issue. Guarantee it’s a bad batch of batteries that rolled off assembly.

5 things always on my bike is my Cruise Tools, my first aid kit, mini air compressor, plug kit, and my NOCO. Since I have an Ultra Limited, its easy to connect the NOCO to the lighter plug in the tour pack once every couple months while riding to maintain a full charge. It would suK if I needed it and it were dead. The case and battery connector are a great idea. That little baggie is nice, but doesn't stay closed very well. And I would have to remove the seat strap before I could get the seat off and get to the battery f I needed a quick jump.

I have a similar one. I bought it primarily to keep in my car during the winter. Don’t know about yours but mine is about the same size and will jump a car. I used to carry it in my saddlebag when I knew my battery was getting old. Saved me once! After replacing my battery I no longer carry it. Sort of a trade off, saddlebag space vs carrying something I’m unlikely to need. My “must haves” are my first aid kit, Cruz Tools Harley tool kit, tire plugger kit, and an air pump. There are other things I always carry such as Plexus to clean my windshield, a rain suit, snap on face shield for my half helmet, phone charger, eyeglass cleaner, road atlas…. That pretty much fills up a saddlebag as it is!

Nice bit of kit, sure could have used one a few years ago. Rode into a gas station, filled the tank, turned the key, hit the starter button and everything went dark! I didn't know what had happened, only knew I had an apparent complete electrical failure. Turned out that Triumph built a voltage threshold into the system and if the battery drops below it, everything shuts down. Got the bike home next day with the battery from my old Yamaha, turns out they use the same battery. I use a battery tender pretty regularly but this is something for the road I think I'll have to invest in!

@@Broncoride Colin. I havent looked as of yet but do you know what the CCA rating is on the PAS OEM battery. I would think that replacing it with a battery with an increase in the CCA rating would solve these cold non start issues. I have had one at 28 deg. F. I left the bike sit for about ten minutes then it fired right off. I believe that allowed the battery to recover. Any attempt right away would not have. Your thoughts. And Harley engineers if you are paying any attention to we PA owners how about some testing in regard to this issue which seems to be occuring in relation to low temps on more than just a few machines. Mine is a 2022.
