- Modern rockstar games is quite possibly one of the worst developers in the modern gaming industry not only for milking a decade old game but also treating its own community like crap in the form of scummy tactics and Making crappy remasters of old games like GTA the trilogy All of this has really sucked out the hype for me that I had for GTA 6 rockstars next Grand theft auto game

As the saying goes, the higher you go, the harder you fall, Rockstar fanbase seems to not realize their situation they are currently in, same as BioWare, Blizzard, and CD Projekt, hell even japanese too, Square Enix (was SquareSoft), Konami, and Capcom (now doing ok *for now* ) before, not a single soul believing that these 3 would even fell off, despite the many warnings and blunders, they all still blindly defends, until things actually happens. Now it's Ubisoft's turn, many cancelled IPs, angry employees, stocks falling, who knows next? Rockstar? Who knows, if anything, there is also other saying "Something ends, something begins" we may lost Rockstar that we know, but maybe in the future, there will be someone worthy of claiming the 'king of the open world' title.
one more point: Rockstar is not Rockstar without Dan Houser.

GTA IV is my favourite game of all time. GTAV couldn’t even hold a candle to it. GTA 4’s strong story, gameplay, music. and amount of detail was enough to made me forget about customization and everything else that was missing from SA. GTA4 online was the PERFECT GTA Online to ever exist.

GTA IV and even the DLC stories were my favorite since I was a kid in school.
Yes, Rockstar removed a lot of stuff in GTA IV but it was still an amazing game.
gta 4 had absolutely nothing to offer in terms of open world, no planes, no salons, no car customisations, hardly 3 or 4 supercars to drive, depressing black and white world, small shitty map with no mountains, brain dead cops, slow gameplay
4 was a masterpiece.
You couldn't pay me to get excited for GTA 6 at this point. Rockstar keeps treating long time fans and their customers like trash and I refuse to hype them up and give them credit for anything.
I could only hope gta 6 will be good but my expectations will remain low

Gta 5 was missing so many fun activities from previous gta's burglary, fight club, gym, vigilante, gang wars etc... I'd love to see all these activities back in a more realistic way but unfortunately Rockstar thought it was a good idea to add flying bikes to the game.

I hate that the NPCS can shoot 1 million bullets per second but the player cant the reason why Rockstar made it like that so it increases their difficulty to also make it harder to make money or just to piss us off
What I hate More is how the NPC’s literally drive into you on purpose driving and listening to music is one of the only things I still enjoy about this game, and that literally ruined it and causes so much frustration what’s worse is I’m pretty sure rockstar designed it. That way. There’s proof on UA-cam and I also have proof of it. I have captured plenty of moments where the NPC’s were driving into me intentionally it is beyond irritating

Somehow I'm starting to have flashbacks from the definitive trilogy and its major problems, But one of the most frustrating things about Rockstar games and the same goes with the other video game companies is they actually remove the original games from Steam and other digital stores and locking us to buy the definitive trilogy.

GTA V was actually really fun in the beginning when the fastest car was the Bugatti and condos cost $700k max. The whole game went to shit once they started pushing shark cards and adding OP vehicles

I'm in my apartment in GTA 5 sitting on the couch. A cheater spawned me and everyone else to the airport. He's wearing a backpack that is spitting money out everywhere. He walks around giving everyone free money. I did not know this was a bad idea so I stayed for 10 minutes. A week later, GTA deleted my account. They could've taken all the extra money back - but noooo. DELETE.
Rockstar effectively lost me as a life-long customer that day. I agree, Mr RAGE. I'm not excited or inclined to purchase anything from Rockstar again. Wish others felt the same way. Good rant!
That sucks man rockstar is hell bent on making sure no one gets free money and if they do rockstar will just wipe your account to punish you for not buying shark cards or grinding for hours for money I myself have already given up on the company and I enjoy other games from good developers. I 100 percent agree. I feel the fact that this is the first game being created without any of the OG developers is scary. There's no way they can recreate that same GTA vibe.

Honestly I agree a lot with your points about gta v’s open world being bland and lackluster. I think everyone distracted by the details and the atmosphere of San Andreas at the time that they didn’t really notice that the world lacked meaningful activities. However it does seem rockstar did take this into account with Rdr2 considering it’s open world has many activities to do, places to explore and unique side missions not to mention every npc has meaningful interactions leading to a variety situations. I can almost guarantee that rockstar will also implement a lot of these game mechanics and activities into gta vi which gives me a lot to look forward to in the future.
Very true since red dead redemption was a huge improvement compared to rockstar‘s last game. But honestly even if the next GTA is good there’s still some things to worry about

A LOT of these problems are exactly the same in Red Dead Redemption 2 but Rockstar fans praise that game as if it is one of the greatest of all time. It has good graphics, a good story, and a lot of little details, yet it fails to be an enjoyable game. I genuinely regret paying for it.

I 100% agree with you about gta 5, the game was some what of a downgrade compared to San Andreas and gta 4 when it came to features and the game was pretty much empty after finishing the campaign there was nothing to do, 90% of enterable interiors was apparently scraped of the game, physics were a downgrade compared to GTA 4 and 80% of the map was just rural land, there is no diversity. I still like the campaign and the graphics but it really never had the longevity of every other GTA game when it came to offline mode.

Rockstar has made 8 billion total to date from gta v. They have a 2billion dollar budget for gta vi. They need to make money to pay the thousands of employees they have as well as keeping every single building they have open with electricity, water. Etc. and on top of that they are still trying to make a profit. It’s callled a buisness. Without those micro transactions we’d be waiting a lot longer than 2024 for gta vi

I love watching videos like this because me and some friends in college (studying games) have started our own indie team and videos like this really highlight how we can make our games good and "fix" the games industry, atleast our little corner of it.

There's a lot of valid points in this video I have to agree with. Almost all the original writers, developers and producers are gone, I wonder why? And I don't understand how people say “Oh they need more time" “You want another Cyberpunk?” Rockstar literally made GTA Vice City within 9 Months, San Andreas one of their best games they made within a year and a half. Yeah technology and the engines have changed but still 10 Years later and we're still on GTA 5??? and it's the most bland GTA game they made, Hell GTA Vice City Stories absolutely destroys GTA 5 and Online. And it's been a year since they “Announced” GTA 6 and still no trailer, no info and a 16 year old kid let the entire world know what GTA 6 looks like, This game will never see the light of day, GTA Online is the GTA 6 no matter how you look at it. If Rockstar doesn't properly announce it, give us info and a trailer for GTA 6 within this year. I truly believe this game will never release.

I'm convinced that the reason GTA 5's open world is so bland when it comes to side activities is because they were trying to have a good chunk of the fun stuff be exclusive to GTA Online, it was a marketing strategy

Tbh, i don't even know what to say but am just so tired of Rockstar Games milking the crap outta gta online. Anywhere i go like Twitter, instagram or Facebook, it's always about gta online the same thing which is like a repeat again and again. I really blame the people who gave Rockstar Games money to buy gta v on the launch day.
Seriously, if people never bought gta v but pirated the game when it was released, then we would have got a lot more games than what they used to make in the early 2000s.
Oh man, i miss those 2000s era good old days when gaming was actually so good. Not only Rockstar Games, but other companies had actually put a lot of effort and love to their games back in a day.
Rockstar Games made so many new games in the 2000s era like GTA 3, Vice City, SanAndreas, Advance, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Chinatown Wars, IV with 2 DLCs with new weapons and story missions and side activities, L.A. Noire, Max Payne, Midnight Club, Beaterator, Bully, etc. Those days were so so good and single players was actually so good too back in a day.
Today's gaming is really so bad that most of the AAA games are half unfinished, bugs, glitches etc.
And i even get angry for people who always says it's a gta clone to any new open world games. That's how open world gaming aren't going forward but backwards.
I remember when saints row games were so good too like SR1 & SR2. Those 2 games were classic masterpiece and were not a gta clone. But people pointed it that the game was gta clone and the series got ruined too after SR3, SR4 and now the trash reboot.
Say whatever but nowadays gaming lacks content and story mode too.
I’m honestly glad I found this video because I share a lot of the same sentiments towards the grand theft auto series… I don’t care nothing about the violence and all the sexual shit that shit doesn’t bother me I just think the game is trash it’s not fun to play not a single entry in the series… I can’t stand open world control set upsand they never feel intuitive or fluid driving is terrible swapping between weapons is terrible. Trying to swap between playable characters is terrible. The fact that clear concise directions aren’t given is terrible… And this isn’t even the only series of suffers from it all rockstar, open world games, suffer from it, as well as games like Spider-Man, that have nothing to do with rockstar… All these open world games have the shittiest control schemes, and the least amount of input from the computer to tell you how to finish an objective… They’re lame as hell.
And....GTA VI will be woke, just you wait. The lead female character will not have any backstory on why she became so bad ass, no character development and she will just be an overpowered over the top female character who will not even have a backstory like Adie Saddler had, which is a beloved female character and has something to show us why she became what she is.

Saying gta 5 is a bad game is blasphemy, but I do agree that rockstar does milk the shit out of it. But I also do not expect gta 6 to be like gta 5. It’s a new engine and stuff, but then again nobody really knows what the game is going to be like.

I agree with this entire video. Especially with that part with the Wanted Level. Literally it’s so bad that the cops will literally find you even if you’re in the most HIDDEN spot in the ENTIRE map. Once you’ve played the same game the same way so many times, you start depreciating it because you notice flaws like that a lot more each play. My hopes that GTA VI will be any different are nearly gone.
GTA 4 was better than GTA 5 in many ways. Rockstar was not able to remake their 3 iconic games that made them who they are today. Rockstar lost its quality for sure no high hopes for GTA 6
In a nutshell, GTA V online, combined with this new generation of Rockstar fans has ruined Grand Theft Auto. As evidenced by RDR2, Rockstar is still capable of making the best games available, but this capability of theirs to make the best games, are being hamstringed by Take 2's greed, and the children that they're basically marketing to now, through micro transactions for the online "game". GTA was NOT, nor was it ever a game for children, or the immature, because it is a game series based on the parody, of the most sinister areas of the criminal underworld. Take 2 marketing to the same children that play fortnight, is why this series is having it's soul ripped from it. I've been playing GTA since GTA 2, but I'm not going to buy GTA VI, until I know what I'm in store for, and if I don't like what I see, or hear, I just won't buy it. I was one of the few that felt genuinely upset watching the trailer for the exact reasons you’ve been listing off. Really put my thoughts on paper and made me feel less alone. That being said, I’m still sad about Bully 2 haha
When gta v was released at that time I had curiosity to play it because of its graphics and gameplay but after playing it for 4 month I realized the game did not provided me the feeling of realism that GTA San Andreas gave me. the missions, the storyline, and the diversity of gta sanandreas gave me a great immersive experience. the radio stations were legendary. And the only game from rockstar from recent years I love to play is red dead redemption 2. For modern players who haven't played old gta other than gtav, I want to say to you that GTA V is a downgrade and is not a good game and lastly when I saw the definitive addition it almost gave me a heart attack. They don't care for their fans they just played with their fans' feelings and made money and they would have made more if they had made it properly I would have paid for it regardless of whatever high amount they would have charged if they would have made it properly with the old rockstar games standards.

I would never personally take my money to another Rockstar title, everything you've said is true and people suck up to GTA Online so much it's disgusting. Imagine agreeing to a term of service that entails the protection of your data only to enter the game and realize people are running around DDOSing people, stealing accounts and reselling them, accessing your IP address and other important stuff, Rockstar knows full well of what's going on and yet it's allowed to happen and they're selling you this game as if it's the next best thing. They are already in violation of the TOS and should be sued simply put, I played through GTA Online and I can tell you now that it's not even worth it, you go into a public lobby and you're at risk of getting banned from other people hacking and say you decide to actually play in private sessions alone, that's still a problem because Rockstar made sure that every solo means of getting anything in that game next to impossible, it also doesn't make any sense since it's meant to be online so what's the point anyway. I also do agree that as soon as you buy a few organizations the game dies, literally just flat out dies and that's because you get bored of having to try to go across an entire map to deliver 3 trucks, fail a mission half way through because someone can't fly a plane or suicides etc. What I find to be ironic is the fact that people would look for modders to run heist missions endlessly and somehow the game is still fun to them. How is that fun when you literally do nothing, it's literally afk farming and there's nothing to even spend money on, it makes no sense. You'll see people with 100b in their account and you go how are you gonna spend all that and they be like "Oh on orbital cannons" like bruh the GTA community has to be brain dead. It gets worse people who mod are actually buying more accounts and you can get 50 accounts for £1. Save yourself the trouble and go play some other game if you have a brain, there's no hope for Rockstar but the slaves never learn.
I'm going to say this GTA 6 doesn't have me excited 3 important people left rockstar which is a red flag then they want to cater to a certain mob of people. lowing the tone of the game and taking away what made grand theft auto the franchise that it is. Not saying a female character as a lead isn't a bad idea but why wait so late to do this? But I love 5 because of Trevor. GTA V is fan service. You were spot on with your take. GTA IV was an amazing experience, so much fun stuffs to do that for whatever reason they did not bring back in GTA V. Can't think of any reason except laziness and greed. But I still have a little bit of hope after they released Red Dead Redemption 2.

GTA V is horrible and still the best game in like 7 years. Gaming is such a circus now. Heck, in GTAV you can't even sit down on a bench next to an NPC, let alone even stand next to an NPC. After 3-4 seconds all NPC's will just start insulting you and walk away.

Hey man I got this game in 2019 I started playing it around 2022, I started noticing red flags right away 1.was it took over 6hours to download which was hot. 2 was the first mission i don't like how they threw you out there. 3 I noticed the controls were were as hell. 4 I started noticing the city is empty and I don't like it at all nothing to go inside of. I have not finished it yet but I probably will later when I have some time lol😁

The reason why I'm not really excited for GTA 6 is because I feel like it's going to be realistic like rdr2 was and I know in Red Dead 2 you had to feed your character clean your weapons feed your horse and do all that and that is not a fun game like who wants to fill their car up with gas in GTA 6 also don't forget how an rdr2 you had only limited weapons you could carry you couldn't carry all weapons and that is not fun I like where you could just spawn weapons out of thin air like in GTA v

GTA 5 was THE worst GTA and Rockstar game in general. For 1: it put Red Dead Redemptions Online out of use, (they stopped updating it, yet continue to update an even OLDER pointless game from 2013) and 2. Because they make the most money off of what they do.
And GTA 4 was the only Grand Theft Auto in the entire series I liked.
Unless they make GTA VI like RDR II, I am most likely not playing GTA VI, it is disappointing how they treat us with updates (examples: Red Dead 2) and how they never give us news on how the game is doing.
And don't even get me started on the PC version the modders can hack your PC from the game now is Rockstar Support is shit they don't know what the hell they're doing.

Just watched your video to the end, I agree with a lot of the things you said. I believe rockstar has been money hungry ever since the release of the GTA 5 online mode. I think they saw how much revenue they had been making and started getting more greedy than they already were. When it comes to the “Remakes” of games GTA San Andreas, The new RDR1 remake, etc. I believe they knew they could port the games on to new gen consoles and knew if they slapped the words “definitive Edition” or “Remake” that people would buy it. Personally I knew not to bother with buying the “Remakes” and just wait until videos of the final product were on UA-cam. Anyways the last thing I do want to mention, which I don’t know is 100% true is that it had been rumored that GTA 6 has 4 times the budget RDR2 had and nearly 10 times the budget that gta 5 had. I think it was something a little over 2 billion dollars. Regardless it’s Rockstar so you never know.

I lost all love for Rockstar and this franchise on the day when they gave the reason why they weren't adding any single player DLC content despite mentioning it on their newswire by saying it was very complete which is sure as hell was not and knowing all the original employees leaving/left the company , like you said in the video where are the enterable interiors, why can't I enter Cluckin Bell and buy fast food like I could in GTA SA and IV, where is snooker and there is a snooker table in that bar in the desert that Trevor got banned in why can't I use it, where's air hockey, and the ones you said in the video. The game should never of had 3 main characters because the story had to focus on all of them and it harmed it especially comparing it to the previous games and the game should of just focused on Franklin only and done an updated version of CJ's story and with the gang war like you said in the video. Luckily I play on PC so I can mod the game and I added the vigilante mission into the game which plays just like the GTA IV version.

GTA 6 is gonna be a massive disappointment for a lot of people. Not me though lmao. Since 5 Rockstar has quickly become a garbage studio. I remember when they promised heists for online to be there at launch. I remember when they promised a story dlc and then they decided to never make a stand alone dlc ever again.
I was pissed when they denounced story DLC for RDR2. And I was even more pissed when Rockstar fanboys were harassing me on Twitter over that. I know for a fact one of those cocksuckers was The Strange Man.
This series isn't really made for a hardcore audience. The depth that this game has in its world for hardcore gamers feels forced, everything passionate that went into this game is the main gameplay, the chaos, and the story mode. And even the story missions fell flat sometimes, that whole second heist was a joke, none of it was fun at all, worst mission in gta history and I'm not exaggerating and you got no money out of it.
There are some small passion projects in the open world but that stuff isn't everywhere because the world is too big so the random events aren't everywhere and the cool gang hide out spots you can find, just looking for the good content in this game is looking for a needle in an entire forest.
I haven't lost faith because red dead 2 was everything I wanted in an old western sand box, you can do everything I could expect you could do, it's incredible. The ecosystem is amazing, you could fish, hunt for over 500 different kinds of animals, gamble, gta 5 hunting is terrible, there's what like 2 animals in the game to hunt? They built that entire mountain region to explore and everything interesting in it is so far apart, and so hard to find. The alturist camp is so far out there, and you can't gamble, and yeah, I agree there's nothing fun to do beyond the core gameplay. Hopefully 6 will be better.

I genuinely remember having more fun playing watch dogs than I did. GTA v. I don't understand what people see in these games. My biggest gripe trolls though. I might as well be trying to convince my character to do what I want. Voice commands because animation takes so much precedent over having tight controls. Realism does not automatically equal fun. When my character literally just trips on the f****** curb Yes, it's funny but it's also pretty stupid. It shouldn't take half a minute to turn around, and jumping happen. Second, I hit the button regardless of how that makes the animation look.
