I'm not saying the game is 10/10. I know The game doesn't have a good story(but its not bad either). But the gameplay is really fun. Most people love this game because it allows you to do crime and feel invincible. I think it's a great game because of the heists and the amount of freedom the game offers to the player like no other game.
it is the only game kids can live their dreams of killing people without consequence in a modern setting. go to club, kill police, get laid, buy cars. It is a all in one game. But mid in everything. It is one of those game you will not be proud telling to your grandchildren. If I see again the clunky movement. GTA6 is just GTA5 but with better graphics + rdr2 npc.
I completely agree! GTA 5 feels very hollow compared to GTA 4 Even the map is much better on GTA 4 having so much detail everywhere. Everything just 'exists' on GTA 5. Tennis is crap, the stranger missions are crap(tow trucks wtf) the collectibles make no sense or the story. You can't interact with the environment or the NPCs this game is overrated, it's dumb that people call GTA 4 'just nostalgia' without even playing it when GTA 5 definitely fits that a lot more. The only reason GTA 5 is still relevant is bc it's still the newest game
I've played it and it's def glazed cause of nostalgia.For me they are the same amount of time.GTA 5 doesn't have much content or alive world but it has it's fun still.For me map is better cause of rural parts.It's not SA tier but it isn't only industrialised urban cities.For me just the main campaign is fun, and for 2013 messing around was just fun.Online also carries it but I honestly like story mode more and wish it had DLCs it should've had.

I replayed GTA 5 back in august and I agree with everything you said. The story is average, the gunplay is fine, the driving is mid, and everything else is lack luster. That part where you said about the wanted level system being annoying and the cops being too aggressive is the part, I agree the most with. I tried getting the most wanted level and I could only get to three stars because the cops have infinite ammo to the point where it's not even fair anymore, and the NPCs being too fucking stupid really pissed me off so much that I just gave up trying to get the most wanted LOL. So yeah, we can only hope and pray that GTA 6 is going to be better than 5 P.S Red Dead Redemption 2 is better, in my opinion.
They wasted so much potential with the main missions, they can do anything using the sandbox, but they choose to do follow the arrow missions, every mission feels like you are following a tour.
I will not even play it for free. Actually got it for free on epic. boring game like RDR2. Maybe people just want to live inside the game and escape reality.

The only time I played shooter rpg is with cyberpunk which has better mission design. I never had to shoot my enemy and can play stealth/hack. most shooting games I played are multipayer like battle royale or tac fps.

It was pretty good a decade ago, ngl. But nowadays, it's just old man, we need something new. It's the same story, and it feels very, very old ... I have this game on PS3, I like to mess around sometimes. But if I want to experience a good GTA game, I pick GTA IV.
I also feel like the game lacked buildings you could go in to compared to GTA 4. In GTA 4 you could go in to a restaurant and have a shootout which was fun. A big part of this game also was promoted around heists. They should of allowed you to do robberies in the open world not just some stupid convenience store which isn't fun to rob at all. Hopefully GTA 6 is better than this game because this game is just filled with missed opportunities.
GTA v was a great game when it first came out especially during my first couple years of playing it but as time has gone on I realize just how much of a downgrade GTA v is compared to the previous gtas which is what makes it arguably one of the worst games in the series

A few years ago I went and bought and played GTA 4 for the 1st time and ever since then when I go back to play GTA 5 it disappoints me so much because like you said it really does feel like a downgrade from GTA 4 in many ways. Sure graphics wise it's better than GTA 4 and the open world for GTA 5 is amazing but it's lacking in things to do and buildings that can be entered which are big downsides for an open world game. When the online was up on PS3, all I did, was fixing myself an objectif like, making 3 laps around the map at max speed without ever slowing down completely. I even got myself some modders tracking me down, they never got me lol... I had my fun playing this game like a need for speed. That's the only thing that's truly good about this game. GTA IV feels more authentic.

I actually really loved GTA 5, played through the story a couple times when I got it on the 360 and then again when I upgraded to a ps4. But looking back, I couldn't tell a single person what the story was about lmao, and I guarantee that majority of it's playerbase can't either. The story was so convoluted that it made zero sense. I fully believe people just praise the game, specifically story not gameplay, for these reasons: - Trevor = loud funny aggressive man - Franklin = funny black man - Michael = despressed funny white man No joke whenever I hear people glaze this game it's for those reasons basically. I don't even think this game is top 20 OAT. Yes it's fucking fantastic, and I'm sure if I played through it now at the age of 23 I would understand the story. But majority of people I see praising the game were people like me playing through it at 12 years old not understanding a single thing happening 💀

Me personally, I’ve bought like 5-6 copies of gta sa since it’s release that includes for mobile, PC, ps2, ps4 and Xbox 360 and I never get bored of it, and I tend to get bored of most games these days. It’s just as fun as I played it nearly 20 years ago. Easily have played over 1-2k hrs of gta San Andreas. I’ve probably only played maybe gta 5 for barely 100 hours.

Replayed it again recently and i just hate the multi protagonist setting. I cant role play with three characters, money accrual doesnt allow you to feel like you are really building your character. 2 missions in you are gifted a mansion. There is no gradual build up of your wealth. The campaign is quite short. Side missions are boring as shit. Missions have too many instafail parameters. Something Rockstar needs to work on. The graphics are really dated and grainy.

GTA V is not a bad or terrible game, but it wasnt the best either, it was just very dissapointing in some aspects. Like not being able to do vigilantes, and the story was not that good. I remember steaaling a police car, back in the day, and when i tealized they got rid of vigilante missions i was very dissapointed because it was so much fun in GTA IV.
The lack of enterable interiors, the cheap kill of Johnny Klebitz the protagonist of GTA IV TLAD to turn him into a methhead, and "show" how "badass" Trevor is, was stupid. It was unnecessary, also Michael's family was extremely frustrating and absolutely horrible, and Franklin was just boring. The driving mechanics were also a downgrade from IV, and combat was so basic and boring.
U only talk facts and if u would work for rockstar games i believe this game would be 10 times much more fun....thats one of the reason why most indie games with only 1 or 4 devs are better than most triple a games with thousands of people working on a game because they cant do what they want and with the same love because they need to do exaclty what their boss say to do and they have no freedom at all since money is more important than having fun in a game....gta 5 would never be so good if the modding community would not exist i would never ever play this game without mods or enjoy

As a kid it felt immersive but now as a grown up everything in this game feels childish and corny.

Replayed it again recently and i just hate the multi protagonist setting. I cant role play with three characters, money accrual doesnt allow you to feel like you are really building your character. 2 missions in you are gifted a mansion. There is no gradual build up of your wealth. The campaign is quite short. Side missions are boring as shit. Missions have too many instafail parameters. Something Rockstar needs to work on. The graphics are really dated and grainy.

GTA could take the Fortnite formula and make the best “real life” game, but they won’t.
GTA V is not a bad or terrible game, but it wasnt the best either, it was just very dissapointing in some aspects. Like not being able to do vigilantes, and the story was not that good. I remember steaaling a police car, back in the day, and when i tealized they got rid of vigilante missions i was very dissapointed because it was so much fun in GTA IV.
The lack of enterable interiors, the cheap kill of Johnny Klebitz the protagonist of GTA IV TLAD to turn him into a methhead, and "show" how "badass" Trevor is, was stupid. It was unnecessary, also Michael's family was extremely frustrating and absolutely horrible, and Franklin was just boring. The driving mechanics were also a downgrade from IV, and combat was so basic and boring.

U only talk facts and if u would work for rockstar games i believe this game would be 10 times much more fun....thats one of the reason why most indie games with only 1 or 4 devs are better than most triple a games with thousands of people working on a game because they cant do what they want and with the same love because they need to do exaclty what their boss say to do and they have no freedom at all since money is more important than having fun in a game....gta 5 would never be so good if the modding community would not exist i would never ever play this game without mods or enjoy

The map is actually lame after you play gta san Andreas it has alot diversity game was fun for its time but gta 5 is mostly mountains Trevor is so unhinged didn't play GTA 4 but killing a character from previous game like that is disrespectful should have made expansion dlc but they didn't because greed same with rdr2
