I completely forgot to mention the most important thing... the Japanese voice actor for Dr. Tokui is Hideo Kojima. That is all. I'll give you back your video now.
He is voiced by Hideo Kojima, he is a good friend of Sam Lake which is why Sam lake also appears as a cameo in Death stranding as one of the customers called the veteran porter or something.
This is a reference to the Gateway Experience, a declassified cia document! The two tapes are played at different frequencies to induce hemisphere synchronization in the brain!
The Prime Candidate Project is very interesting. Each one of the candidates can be a main character in a spin-off game to showcase why and how the bureau think they're eligible for the program. Would be really cool. I doubt Hideo Kojima would have the time to do more than a cameo though, lol, but he can just lend his likeness in the future and have a different voice actor (like how it was done in Death Stranding) if Remedy want Dr. Tokui to have more presence in the future.
That would be really cool! Yeah this but was probably an hour ro two in a recording booth for Kojima. Not a lot of time for the cameo. We don't get a lot on the prime candidate program but it is a thread for the sequel I'm curious about.
What if .... one of the unknown Prime Candidates is none other than Chester Bless? It would explain their connection to the Board, their ability to identify/create altered items, and how they knew that the America Overnight radio program was connected to the FBC? Hmmmm.....
Ah yes, the Hideo Kojima quest that was locked behind a specific edition of the game. (it's not even PS4 in general, only people who got the ultimate edition who get this, I think)
It’s not in the Ultimate Edition on PS5, which is a real disappointment. I started playing it recently after AW2 made me want to experience Control again. I missed this side quest a lot as I didn’t even know it was an extra when I first played it.
The mention of previous Prime Candidates made me think, it would be interesting if the bureau had the Director Appoint her own Para-utilitarian bodyguard (Kinda Like the Director Being Ahti's Assistant) to help her fight against the Unknown inside the Oldest House in Control 2.
You know, the concept that the Director is also the “Janitor’s Assistant” is…fascinating. Really makes you wonder just where people like Ahti, or the Andersons, really sit on the scale of “baseline humans Hiss/Dark Presence”. Considering the Hiss, which terrified even the Board, never seemed to bother Ahti at all, and the Andersons possibly tango’d with the Dark Presence on more than one occasion…seems to me like “Ahti’s Assistant” is a far greater title than merely being “The Director.”
Oh the Anderson'a 100% tangoed with the Dark Presence before. On the night the Losge was attacked they got all the patients to safety while fighting off the Taken. Excited to fight then again. And Ahti, well he is on a while other level. Who knows what secrets he's hiding
@@GamingUniversityUoG Totally forgot about that, and how Wake's page about that implied they knew how to handle Taken! I was thinking of the FBC mentions about previous AWE's in Bright Falls, and how Tor and Odin talk to Alan about how [Jagger] took the storms and ravens from them. But yeah, I definitely rank Ahti above even the Board. Ahti does wait until he's safely on vacation before giving Jessie the music player, so it's possible that Hadron/Polaris and the Hiss are capable of doing something to even people like Ahti or the Andersons, much like how the Dark Presence managed to hurt the Andersons and take things from them.
Whoa, I never knew this misson existed. When I was thoroughly completing the game, I suspected that there was more to the extrasensory lab. Especially because it was mentioned in one of the Darling's memos. Cutting story content down to only be available on one platform is an egregious practice.
I think it is a Sony thing. I've been told in the comments here they are notorious for requesting exclusive stuff like this. I dont agree with the practice either.
The remaining candidates are a fascinating concept. What were their circumstances? What can they do? Did they suffer as much from the program as Dylan did?

As someone with aphantasia, I'd like to gently point out that not everyone views it as suffering. Neuro-atypicality (in this case at least) does not always mean that someone's experience is lesser than others. For example: though I can't "see" images with my mind, I can very vividly imagine emotions, concepts, and stories which many of my regularly-phantasiac peers cannot. The following is largely anecdotal: I don't have a way to back this up outside of personal experience, but I read an article about a study into aphantasia which suggested that people with aphantasia were often more creative than those with regular phantasia or hyper-phantasia. My personal experience (interviewing about two-dozen people in my life) is that this rings true. Of all the people I talked with, those who experienced some level of aphantasia seemed innately more skilled in creative (even visually creative) pursuits: such as drawing, film making, etc. while those who could readily see images in their minds often found themselves unable to express their creative impulses (if they had any). In one extreme case, I have a friend who is hyper-phantasiac, and has always struggled with managing to get ideas out of his head. On the contrary, I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, writer, and programmer, all of which comes relatively easily to me. Without significant deviation, everybody fell into these groups: lower / no phantasia higher levels of creative ability; or regular / increased levels of phantasia with diminished creative ability. Undoubtedly, part of this is practice. But I went 27 years of my life not knowing that anyone experienced the world differently than myself, and in the case of my friend, his lack of ability is not for lack of trying. I've seen him attempt to practice painting and drawing, and he struggles with both, and then becomes frustrated and stops. On the other side of things, he is quite gifted musically, where I am not. The roles there are flipped - he hadn't really touched an instrument until his 20s, and managed to learn both bass guitar and drums relatively quickly. I've been trying to play drums and piano for many years and always struggled with things like timing or remembering where the right keys / tones are. Different strokes, and all that. But my point is that neuro-diversity should not imply suffering. Aphantasia is not implicitly an illness or a disability - at least not to me, I'm sure others will disagree. I see it as just another facet of how we experience this world.

@@GamingUniversityUoG Thanks 😇 I'll poke around online for it EDIT: I can't see shit in my minds eye haha I found a steam forum post with steps, basically the following: -download a hex editor like HxD -Find the Control_DX11 and Control_DX12 exe files in the game directory and make copies somewhere safe. -Open one of the original exe files in the game folder using the hex editor -Search for 40 84 ED 75 07 as hex, then paste insert 40 84 ED EB 07 in place of it. You can see it's only changing one number so alternatively just modify that number -save that -repeat for the other exe file and save -Run control via your launcher. You will need to run to the extrasensory lab or find a tape to trigger the mission. The lab branches off from parapsychology in central research. There are two tapes to find and bring to the lab, I found one of the tapes to trigger the mission but there is a recorder and associated lore document in the lab that would also trigger it I think.
You can start it by going to the Research Sector and examining a tape recorder in the Extrasensory Lab. Across from where you got the Xray Light Box OoP

@@GamingUniversityUoG No, with respect, you don't get what I'm saying... I have it on PlayStation 5 and I don't have the PlayStation content.
I think Alan, Thomas, the Anderson Brothers all were possible prime candidates
Alan for sure was. No one knew who Zane was since he was removed from existence so probably not him. The Andersons... possibly. I wouldn't though if I were Trench. They are older than him and a little senile.
@@GamingUniversityUoG Trench might remember Zane, Jesse did.
I have aphantasia and in college I learned that I can hallucinate just fine. (I can also dream)
Missed this in the game :(
It is easy to miss and only shows up on the ps4 port.
@@GamingUniversityUoG Guess that explains why. Did a lot of side content in the game on PC and had no clue this exists :(
Cool video though!
I have Aphantasia, life is fun.
Haven't looked into it much. How is it?
@@GamingUniversityUoG It’s kind of like all sorts of visual thoughts are limited to just ‘knowing’ what one is thinking instead of actually seeing it. Personally, I think it makes the relationship between me and my thoughts feel less intimate, but that could just be me. The biggest downside is reading at least to me is painfully boring, visualization is a big part of reading and when you literally cannot do it reading just isn’t as fun.
If such tapes existed IRL, I'd test them for you. Flat 1 in all questions, not a trace.
Though, I will say, I dream in black and white, so perhaps I have SOME ability, not none...
This mission is a prototype of AW2
I've played through the game twice (on playstation) and haven't experienced this - apparently I need to be more thorough
What is this place in 10:31 ??
So that's a bit of promo art released for Control 2. It is located right outside the front doors of the Oldest House.
@@GamingUniversityUoG ❤️
I dont know how i didnt find this given i played on ps4
Some people have been telling me it is only the pre-ordered deluxe edition on ps4 only. I dunno. It's weird.
@@GamingUniversityUoG must be why, i never preorder games
How do you unlock the mission on pc?
Also you didn't drop the link to the test in the description 😬
EDIT: I found out how and it's in my comment below this one
This is what happens when I upload at 2am lol. I updated the description with the link.
I have no clue how to Mod the PC version to get this. There are guides online you can find.
@@GamingUniversityUoG Thanks 😇 I'll poke around online for it
EDIT: I can't see shit in my minds eye haha
I found a steam forum post with steps, basically the following:
-download a hex editor like HxD
-Find the Control_DX11 and Control_DX12 exe files in the game directory and make copies somewhere safe.
-Open one of the original exe files in the game folder using the hex editor
-Search for 40 84 ED 75 07 as hex, then paste insert 40 84 ED EB 07 in place of it. You can see it's only changing one number so alternatively just modify that number
-save that
-repeat for the other exe file and save
-Run control via your launcher.
My guess is that Dylan killed P1-5. That's why we don't find them Hiss possessed.
I have the PS4 version and never saw this case file or mission 😔😔😔
You can start it by going to the Research Sector and examining a tape recorder in the Extrasensory Lab. Across from where you got the Xray Light Box OoP
@@GamingUniversityUoG no im literally there right now and haven't found anything
@@f4uincorporated25 that's disappointing. Maybe you need to have the AWE expansion?
8:04 I don’t want to touch the dead body, I aren’t that fond of touching live ones let along dead ones all in all it sounds like a really bad idea so I’ll pass.
8:12 see I told you it was a bad idea but you didn’t listen to me and now look what it got you, I’m always right.
