hi there! thanks a lot for all these tasting videos - one question though: which are your 10 favorite tomato varieties (taste- and productionwise), greetings from berlin, germany
Hello. And at the end of this season I plan on doing a video dedicated to my favorites out of the over 300 varieties I grew. I’m also thinking I’ll do one for my top 10 I’ve ever grown throughout my 5 years of trying new tomatoes.
@@jencordial awesome, can‘t wait! i am growing 50 varieties this year but must admit that this is not a good year for tomatoes. too much rain and pretty low temperature. i guess thats the reason why there not that many types which give me a wow. but you definately should try „rosa oma“ (pink grandmom), its a great tasting and high productive variety.
I'm glad your California Tulip turned out good. I got seeds that were supposed to be California Tulip but ended up being a pink heart. They taste fine but they aren't what I wanted to try. Now I want to try the real ones even more. Thanks for the reviews!
It can be such a bummer when that happens. I probably have around 10 or so varieties this year in my garden like that. Like you I’ll just try to trade again for the right seeds. I hope you’ll get to try it next year. 😁
@@jencordial on the ones that are not 2hat they're supposed to be, you can offer them as noid mater seeds. I am the type I wouldn't have a problem growing them as long as I have an interest in it.
Have I mentioned how magical that background is?? 🤩🤤 Drooling. When we finally get off our butts and get moved up to North Carolina, I hope we can snag some of those views like yours. You’re in WV or TN? I’m intrigued by the green giant 💚 The California tulip is gorgeous 🧡 I snort all the time! 🐷
Oh wow North Carolina will be beautiful. You’ll definitely be able to grow some big slicers there. 😁 I’m in West Virginia Green Giant is in the running for top 10. 😄
Growing so many varieties, do you ever find a “diamond” in amongst all the unknowns… It would seem like the best cultivars are already popular for a reason?!? Just wondering.. I’m flirting with trying out a bunch as well..
🤣You are very welcome. Ben and I did a taste test yesterday and there were quite a few blah ones. I think Abraham Green just makes all other sub par. 🤣
Steamers are similar to sloppy joes but better. I’m pretty sure I made them in an old vlog. They never last very long in my house. And you won’t believe the ingredients once you’ve tasted them.
Thanks for sharing so much information about tomatoes. Yum Yum Yum always love a good tomato. Thanks for sharing my sweet friend.
You are very very welcome. I’m so glad you enjoyed our taste test. Have a lovely day. 😁
These videos are a lot of fun.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. There many more to come. I promised to taste test a lot of tomatoes and I’m trying my best to deliver 😁
Thanks for the taste test I saw a couple I want to try now thanks to your video.
Have a great day 🙂
Wonderful. I hope you’ll be able to grow them next year. Thanks for watching😁
I'm repeating myself, love those tomato facts.
I’m so glad you like those little tidbits my husband fits in there. I like how it breaks up the video a bit. Thanks for watching 😁
Lil ranch pockets lol love it

Yes same. I have a few I saved seeds from because I Still like them.

Fun! It’s Jane’s Judy Clark Family tomato. 😊
Thank you so much for this. I’ll be sure to update the correct name down in the description of this video. I appreciate you. 😁

Thank you for taking the hit for us in tasting all the bland and nasty ones, so we don’t! Lol
🤣You are very welcome. Ben and I did a taste test yesterday and there were quite a few blah ones. I think Abraham Green just makes all other sub par. 🤣
Kalifornia tulip looks like what I’m looking for! My husband prefers firm tomatoes with less juice. But only red is boring.
And love the Heinz fun fact
I’m also a fan of the more sturdy tomatoes. I don’t like the mushy or mealy ones. Kalifornia Tulip is very unique.
I have learned a lot from your husband's tomato facts.
Wonderful. I love that he added that little touch to the videos. He always know how to make things more fun.
LOL! The almost stabbing! I would watch your videos just to see you and your husband together.
😊thank you. I’m glad you find us entertaining so thank you for watching.
What are steamers? Yes, Heinz is the best! Btw, I’ve made homemade “tomato jam” which is used like ketchup, and it’s F-I-N-E!
Steamers are similar to sloppy joes but better. I’m pretty sure I made them in an old vlog. They never last very long in my house. And you won’t believe the ingredients once you’ve tasted them.
The Jane judy I just got in as a seed seeking post. I know tomato Jim is a source for it.
Yes he is. Wowza. Heavy production and big ol maters. It’s a good one for sure.
I also thought Mountaineer Mystery was very bland. Really pretty though.
It definitely didn’t have a flavor explosion that’s for sure. I loved the name because I’m in West Virginia.
