I really appreciate this review and hope you do more. It is very smart of Jigoo to give you this product in exchange for an honest unpreviewed scientific critique. Shows they are forward thinking and have confidence in their product.
Excellent review. Great subject. More people should be aware of the benefits and importance of a clean and hygienic sleeping surface. We LAY on our beds for hours every day. I wonder how the vacuum would work on pillows? I suspect they are too soft for the vacuum. Some personal notes: -- I use mattress covers on all of my bedding and wash them routinely. -- This may sound crazy, but I do the following because my mom did (I am 76). I make 😊 my husband help me remove my mattress from the frame and I set it outside on a sunny day twice a year. I then beat the mattress like the old timers beat rugs to shake out the dust. Crazy? Yes? I am sure my husband would prefer to use this mattress vacuum. You may ask why I do not use my regular vacuum on my matresses. I do not like the idea of putting something that I use on floors on my bedding. Last, good price.
I think it would work fine on pillows, stuffed animals etc. We have a few mattress covers and I am thinking of getting more. I think airing it out is a great idea and I agree about the floor vacuum being used on a bed. I really like this machine and am happy that I have it!
Thank you! I always have a knife on hand for those difficult to open packaging. 😂 and honestly just added that frame in so that the video didn't jump from package closed to open, so my viewers saw that this was the first time I opened it.
we vacuum our mattresses about once a month- and steam clean them about 2x a year(unless someone has been sick)- we keep a cover over the mattress under the sheet- now I'm curious about the mites *will borrow my grandson's microscope) I read that the most dust mites are in the upholstered headboards-so when we bought a new one I bought wood-
This was an excellent review Linda. I’d never heard of this before. I’ve always done the vacuum method like you, then with my mattresses I get out the shark steamer after vacuuming and steam them. It’s a pretty arduous process. I intend to get this machine, and tell my daughters about it as well. Thank you 😊
Wow. I always thought I was good just using the motor head of my vacuum on the bed and furniture. Now I’m wondering if I should be using something like this. 🤔
As an allergy sufferer, I both use those mattress covers that keep everything out of it, but then I still vacuum the thing anyway. I probably don't have to, but still do and would probably recommend everyone else both use the covers and vacuum it every time you take the sheets and cover off to wash.
Thank you for another informative demo. I did not know there was such a vacuum. I occasionally use my vacuum on the mattress, probably seasonally. When the video began I thought that I would not use a single purpose appliance so I appreciated the demo on the chair and sofa. Does the manufacturer suggest how often a mattress should be cleaned? I am also wondering how you measure the humidity in your house.
The manufacturer suggests 2-3 times a week, then once a week. I think I would gauge it according to the debris collected. I will vacuum sofa and chair more often. I measure the humidity in my home through our thermostats. We have radiant floor heat, so when we installed that we created multiple zones, each with their own thermostat. The thermostat tells the temperature and the humidity in the room. They are all Honeywell and are connected via wifi to an app. Thanks for watching!!!
This might just be the very thing I didn't know I needed! I'll try not to think about the 8 legged creatures crawling all around me when I sleep at night...eeeeek!!!
I am not accustomed to buying things based on influencer reviews. I just purchased this about an hour ago solely due to your video. Is there some way that you can get credit for this? I'll be more careful next time to check for your links.
Yes that would make a nice follow-up video. It is about 9 degrees Fahrenheit here now... so quite a bit of time to go before we get those 80 degree humid days!!
Thank you for your very thorough testing! I too have dust and dust mite allergies (and I suspect my cat does too) so have been considering one of these. How often will you use this now for maintenance? They seem to have thought of everything in making this vacuum. I will look into it as it has been on my mind for awhile now....Much appreciated! PS I keep the humidity around 50% for health reasons, so now I really am wondering what my mite zoo population levels would be! Too bad I don't have a microscope here to check...
The manufacture suggests 2-3 times a week, then once a week after. But I think I will let it go for a while so I can do a followup during high humidity. After that, I will vacuum each time I change the sheets.
For this review, I did not do any specific UV testing, since I was really focusing on the vacuum's ability to remove dust, debris, and dust mites. Sorry about that. If I do a followup I will include that.
The Swedish put their mattresses, pillows, blankets,, and other upholstered items etc. outside when the temperature is below freezing. Dust mites dead dead dead!
This is great!! We have allergy sufferers in our home too. I take allergy medicine every day. I have dust mite covers on our mattresses but they still need vacuumed, and I’m thinking our sofas and chairs need something like this too… even the seats out in our cars! I had absolutely no idea they made special vacuums like this. I’ll have to look into this more! I also heard once that the dust mite fecal matter can really cause allergy flare ups for people. Thank you so much for this video! 🩵
@ so I got lots of dust even from the mattresses that had the covers. Plus for me right now they are pricey and on the list for extra splurge some day.
I personally have a very hard time vacuuming a mattress with a traditional vacuum cleaner. Maybe it is easier for you and you won't need this. Plus some people don't like the idea of rolling a vacuum that has been cleaning floors all over their bed.
@@tmontero8492It would be interesting to know for sure though. My stick vacuum (Simplicity) has a small upholstery attachment that I don’t use on the floor, so I could potentially try that.

@FieldOfFocus I emailed you with the subject jigoo code not working. Thank you for emailing them. I saw the $30 off, but yesterday it was on a flash deal for $126.99 which would of been cheaper, but I waited to use your code & was surprised it was only taking an additional $4 off. I'm also surprised they had it on a flash deal yesterday. No worries if they can't fix the code, I can just watch the price. Thank you for your review. Mattress are always so hard to really clean 😊
How to kill dust mites with cold... Freeze non-washable items: Put non-washable items like blankets, throws, and cushions in the freezer for 24 hours. Freeze stuffed toys: Put stuffed toys in the freezer for two days at -15°C.
Dust mites, skin cells, whatever…now take this vacuum to your local Motel 6 and see what kind of goodies their mattresses hold in store for you…You never know what Mr. And Mrs. Smith might leave behind…
The mattress was wrapped in plastic. We have used it for 18 months, so I don't think it was due to the manufacturer. The Jigoo clearly (I showed exactly what was in the dust cup and filter) sucked up a lot of dust and debris.

Yes. We have dust mite covers on a few mattresses and this still picked up dust from on top of the cover and then under on the mattress.

Does the uv filter actually work? I heard its just a gimmick
I did swab my mattresses before and after but never got any before bacteria.. so until I get bacteria on my mattress to actually test, I cannot say.
What about the UV light feature?
