You really should have put all the clips where Picard asks for suggestions and worf says "I recommend we attack" and they say no.
*Seemingly hostile aliens appear*
Picard trying to build up his officers by making them participate: "I want options"
Worf, still somehow hopeful: "attack"
Picard: "no, not like that"
nothing beats Patrick high and in a lobster costume giving acting lessons to a hottie.
Rofl!! Sooo right!!
Isn't there like a 13 min video of Worf getting denied already. Hilarious
Kinda like shax where every time they are in trouble he suggests ejecting the warp core
I once went to a Star Trek convention that had Doctor Crusher's actress. When she was on stage she said something along the lines of "Let's talk about how Doctor Crusher was a single mother, who was strong and intelligent, and for some reason fell in love with a lamp????" Completely unprompted.
What make me wonder is the romance between Crusher and Picard was forced or not? Because tbh it felt kinda out of the blue. Like it's required for everyone to be paired with someone in that ship.
I don't think it felt forced, more awkward. Picard and her husband were best friends before his death but they obviously had feelings for each other that would just be wrong given how close they were. That and the whole fraternising with the crew thing.
*Gates McFadden
That episode was so crazy, when I told my partner (who doesn't like sci-fi) she asked me which DVD it was on so she could watch it!
3rdalbum It’s in Season 7... Episode 14: Sub Rosa. It’s one of my favorite episodes because it’s just funny. Crusher acts like she’s on crack...
'who remained comitted to his dialogue even when the writers fell asleep on their keyboard.' Thanks for that, I haven't laughed this hard in weeks.
Right? Try and watch the show now without imagining some person asleep at their desk and drooling on the keyboard during scenes with alien languages. 😂
In the parts where he speaks to Klingons, he is actually speaking the language that Gene Rodenberry created for that species. Google it.
Ricardo Cordoba It’s a joke dude. No one is being serious. 🤦🏼♂️
What's true is true. But my favorite was 'Man, being civilized is boring'.
That was great. A compliment to Stewart while poking fun at the show.
Riker just mounting everything from chairs to aliens😂😂😂
'Engage!' 💨
😂🤣
It is obvious that the writers intended for him to inherit Kirk's womanizing characteristics.
He’s a mount’n man
@@perfectsplit5515 Yeah, but his iconic leg pose is actually from a injury
He messed up his leg and it was easier for him to keep one leg up when standing for a long time
So he put his spin on Kirk 👍
I prefer a commander who is level headed, and a possible renegade first officer
Any other way and it feels like corruption in the system
I watched this trailer while in the middle of binging the show. The next episode I watched, Ryker had to take command because Picard wasn't available. Someone told him he would have to "be Picard" the first thing he did was sit down and pull down the front of his shirt. I lost it.
Me too. Im simultaneously watching this and voyager
😂😂
Omg pls provide the episode number
That's "Best of Both Worlds, part II", season four, episode one. Awesome episode.
@@mishakellie5549 Deep space nine is fucking spectacular. It takes a little while to get good, but the last two seasons especially have some of the best TV I have ever seen. Definitely don't be put off by how different it is, being on a space station rather than a space ship. It is very much Star Trek and very good.
Watching the series I notice they rarely go Warp 9, a notable time they did was when Picard wanted to get Deanna Troi’s mother off the ship.
I never go 88 miles per hour either. I usually crusie 65-75 mph on hwys.
2BitUser Fair, but a lot of the time they’re running from an enemy.
lol. I think it's ridiculous when there's and episode when people are dying and they only go warp 7. But its hilarious how badly he wanted Lwaxanna off the ship
i seem to remember some episode where they say something about higher warp speeds creating some dangerous space something. I don't remember exactly but i feel like that was the plot to an episode
@@N0THANKY0U It was. They gave a report that said the sustained use of high warp speeds was creating tears in space. But they never mention it again.
Sorry, but the kid who played young Picard (also played his nephew) did really well. Really conveyed a sense of authority and frustration with his situation. Also that scene where he was admiring his hair hits home for some of us.
Yeah, but he sounded like a muppet
true
I love that episode!
Having first watched this when I was a kid, I think it might just be my favourite episode!
That was a good episode, when they turned into kids.
Poor Worf. Built up as the strong man just so he could get his ass kicked to prove how powerful bad guy after bad guy was.
OneColdMonkey lol he gave as much as he got on many occasions tho lol
He does take out a Borg with a batleth in First Contact.
OneColdMonkey and later he became chief of security
DS9 Worf > TNG Worf
That's why I felt Worf worked much better on Deep Space Nine than on TNG. There we actually saw him use his skills in combat, explore his diplomat skills in bringing together Starfleet and the Klingon Empire and engaging interactions with other characters (Gen. Martok, Sisko, Jadzia, etc.).
It helped that DS9 had - in my opinion - a rich cast of supporting characters that were both good and bad, so Worf's presence fit right in.
"..Even when the writers clearly fell asleep on their keyboards."
That absolutely kills me every time I rewatch this.
To be fair, if you had the ability to make Patrick Stewart say anything, wouldn’t you go all in?
@@hypnotisedpenguin LOL!! Good point!
Agreed
Me too, but not because it's true, but that the narrator believed it was true. Which is honestly kinda sad. There's a whole universe out there y'all, enjoy it.
10 min after I heard that sentence and the following cuts ... I still couldn't articulate enough to reassure my wife I was okay. I literally rolled on the floor laughing in tears. 🤣
The best of Worf's lines: "I am NOT a merry man!"
No his best his line in the DS9 episode Trial and tribulations where upon the crew seeing 23 century Klingons he says: “We do not talk about it.”
@@rainross5525 Then they were merry men!
BE QUIET!! *smashes lute*
" Good Tea, Nice House. "
"Death to the opposition"
Worf was head of security and not once did anyone take his advice or listen to him.
Worf: "It is too dangerous"
Picard: "Do it"
There was that one time though. When Worf didn't want to give the romulans a new computer. So Riker threw him a bone, and suggested giving them a seventy year old one they already had specs for. And Worf looks back at Riker and says "Thank you sir 😊"
Worf should have come back later and told Picard, “Capt. Sisko actually listened to my suggestions. You remember Capt. Sisko don’t you? He’s the guy you turned into a single father when you killed his wife at the Battle of Wolf 359.”
@@yemo34The Next Phase
"We're dead, Geordi." "We have to make peace with our former lives."
There is a video on yt, 18 minutes of people telling Worf NO. its awesome
@@curtyeomans8446 I sort of think Sisko was one of the most unhinged, aggressive and irrational characters in Star Trek, out of those who weren't completely corrupt villains. Maybe not quite so prominent, now that there are plenty of nutrek creeps.
My best episode was when the captain Pikard was probed by a satelite from a dead civilisation and live a whole life on there planet in an hour of the Enterprise time. He has a wife, children, grand-children and friends and see the end of there world. The little song that he play on his pipe always make me cry a little. That was great acting :)
Star Trek: The Next Generation - S5E25 The Inner Light
Yes, it's regarded as one of the best episodes on the show
It is also my favorite episode. It is so touching to see Picard through a new perspective. At the end I feel he is changed, he has finally lived the family life about which he wonders in some episodes.
When he plays the flute at the end.... Such a good episode.
If I recall correctly, the director of The Inner Light is the only one who directed episodes of both the original series and the Next Generation.
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
Worf: I do not know. Klingon chickens do not cross roads.
Data: Ah, a joke. Was it funny? I cannot understand humor myself, because I am an android.
Troi: I can't read that chicken's mind. So I will wear another braless body hugging dress to keep our young audience from switching the channel.
Wesley: ...
Everyone: SHUT UP, WESLEY!
the chicken joke was actually originally a suicide joke, the other side refers to the afterlife. So why did the chicken cross the road, because he trying to kill himself.
Why did the chicken want to commit suicide? Because people kept using the word "ironically" wrong.
In Troi's defense, a future where I can't be openly and obnoxiously in love with chocolate is a future I don't want to see.
Preach!
I don't want a universe without chocolate.
Some things are stereotypes for a reason. lol
To be fair I think the scene is from one of the many episodes where the crew goes batshit
msgreek mythgeek
Great name!
Love the clip where Picard requests Arbitration. The whole scene is him finding a way to force the alien species he's talking to, to force them to let him do what he wants. The alternative is that "Arbitration" he's requesting, which even THEY don't have the patience for (he requested arbitration from a species that is currently in hibernation). I get what it LOOKS like here, but it is quite funny and fun to watch.
LOVE that scene. They were jerking him around all episode and then he finally gets them and cuts off communication just to make them wait, brushes dust off the plague... Felt so good lol.
The whole scene is hilarious and awesome. IIRC, he also hung up on them, too.
the moment where he decides to do a little housekeeping is comedy gold.
Riker: you enjoyed that
Picard: you’re damn right
After three days trying to negotiate? It was a fantastic moment that benefitted greatly from Dianna and Riker unable to contain their glee. Funny here out of context, better in the show with its context ❤
Totally one of the most BADASS Picard moments for me... running a finger along the surface of the model ship and inspecting for dust...😆That was probably the moment I realized I liked him way better than Kirk.
"the most british frenchman" that joke is way funnier to me then it should
It's true though 😂
I had to stop the video for a minute because I was laughing too hard at that.
Lol! Had me cracking up a lot.
Yeah didn't you know Britain conquered France in WWIII, thus why a frenchman speaks with a British accent.
Aaron Smith Britain conquered practically every country within a radius of the earth tbh 😂
"the Riker Maneuver" LMFAO I can't believe I never noticed that before!
Jesus christ. Please tell your bosses in fluidic space that if they gonna impersonate trekkies, at least get the basics down. smh
He did it because he had massive back pain and that was the only comfortable way for him to sit down
There is a compilation video "Riker sits down" and my favorite comment is "Riker doesn't sit, he mounts" and it's so on point I just can't
I’ve watched this entire series and never noticed it hahaha
Omg same I never did either
Mock it if you want, but "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!" was still a powerful moment.
One of the most powerful. I can't imagine anybody mocking it.
Inner light also powerful episode.
Yes. Kim and the Kardashians were really turning the screws on poor Picard 😎
Who’s mocking it?
And straight out of Orwell (Nineteen Eighty Four). "How many fingers do you see?"
Fun fact: Jonathan Frakes is one of very few actors who actually knows how to play the instrument (in his case the trombone) his character does.
He does play, but a lot of the time it's not him in the final audio. It's Bill Watrous.
And yet Ryker is still not cool.
Seems to me he's also a pretty good player of the sexual organ.
@@David-iv6je You take that back.
@@optillian4182 LOL. Only cool in some sort of insecure male fantasy. He exudes creepy. Oh, and played by a bad actor.
I wonder what Riker would do if he ever ran into a chair with a back so high that he could not get his leg over it
Simple.
He would jump over it.
He would get it pregnant... Because he's riker!
The episode would just be of him.. trying. To. Get. His. Leg. Over. The. Damn. Chair.
It's been established that Riker can almost always 'get his leg over'.... :D

@@thefantasyreview8709 In "A Fistful of Datas" he plays gosh knows how many characters!
I'd like to see Honest Trailers for Deep Space Nine and Voyager.
God yes!
Voyager would be hysterical
ALL OF MY YES PLEASE
I’d also love one for The Original Series.
Starring- the first female captain
-a leader of rebels who was under utilized and never even mutinied until the fans begged the writers to retcon it into the 7th season.
- a minority Vulcan who was thankfully not given a million black cliches like sisko
- a rebel who the writers renamed to save a few bucks from the episode The First Duty
-a sentient computer program (because it is not like that has gone wrong before)
-a half Borg who is more or less there to look pretty and give us another non human character to better explore our humanity
-a half Klingon who needs to be my girlfriend
-a telekinetic child who the writers never developed
-a weird resident of the delta quadrant who skills involve cooking and irritating people
-also starring way too much time travel
-a Robert Beltran who was given so few good episodes in the last 3 seasons that his annoyance is literally visible in the final products
-way too many seven of nine episodes
-an underutilization of the Borg, by watering them down in some episodes and by never exploring their origins
-an attempt to make the kazon actually seem threatening by having Neelix call them the Kazon 'collective'
-a million lost opportunities to get home.
-and about 150 background actors who never remain consistent during their journey back to earth
Next Generation was definitely the most intellectual series so far. It was passionately ideologic, it displayed essentialy a humanist dream inspired by the rapid development of technology in the last two centuries. Perhaps it is more a depiction of the present and its expectations and desires than of the future. We can all aspire to the ideals of Picard.
Didn't they win an Emmy once for "best depiction of the American society?" Lol. But seriously, a documentary "the History of Science Fiction" said that ST is one of the most successful science fiction franchises ever created, AND THE ONLY *utopian* sci-fi franchise, where federation people, barring insanity, are basically always kind and well meaning to one another. I wish modern screen writers and directors would take notice!

the rikard maneuver had me LOLing
There's a whole video about it somewhere. It was because Jonathan Frakes has/had back problems.

I was laughing had at this...I never noticed that he sat down that way.
And his walk. Remember that "No you CAN'T, don't even TRY" episode?
One of life's great mysteries solved.

Worf yelling at Wesley "ENOUGH!" after everybody has told him to shut up, even his own mother is pure hilarious comedy gold, I laughed tears xD
It's probably the shortest "Shut up, Wesley" montage I've ever seen, but it's still perfectly effective.
I'm kinda disappointed that you didn't mention the transporter technology that transports you wherever you want except when it doesn't.
Or what about the Holodeck that's supposed to be for recreation until it malfunctions, putting lives in danger?
@@JavaPugsMom Oh, yes. The holographic technology that has safety protocols (mortality failsafes) which can always be switched off by anything dangerous that unexpectedly appears therein.
Nikita Elizarov “We haven’t had a transporter accident in years!!!” ...really??? You had one last week!!!
or that needs the pads in the transporter room - except when they need to do a site-to-site transport ;)
Yea in several episodes characters are adamant about how safe the transporter is; in one they even cite than there have only been three accidents in the last 50 years or something, yet it seems to happen every few episodes
You forgot the holodeck, where we're expected to believe only one guy in 7 seasons used it to pork facsimiles of his hot co-workers.
Justin Baker IRK?!?! Only *one* guy has holodeck addiction and not every person on the ship!! Lol you know *everyone* would be banging *everyone* on the holodeck. Cuz if that tech existed, me and Idris Elba would be getting it *OOONNNNN* and no I'm not ashamed to admit that.

I love that Patrick Stewart delivers everything like he's doing Shakespeare. And it works.

best star trek actor bar none....no one else is even close
Brent Spiner.
could have been awesome!
Lol ikr? He's very passionate and dedicated. I love Patrick Stewart! He's as kewl a person as he is a great actor!
My hands down favorite part of Star Trek : The Next Generation is towards the end of the series when Picard is off the Enterprise so they have a different captain altogether and Troi tries to give her opinion to him and he asks why she's not in uniform. Then like literally for the rest of the series Troi is always in her uniform even when Picard gets back I just found it hilarious that she got in trouble with her boss over her uniform like honestly the most relatable part of NG if you ask me.
Marina Sirtis actually always wanted to wear a uniform. It's funny that her character gets ordered to wear a uniform when in fact the actress was constantly made to NOT wear one.
It’s too bad. I missed Counselor Cleavage once she covered up.
@@singleproppilot her outfit in the first episode is hot too.
Captain Jelico kicked arse. Negotiate with the Cardassians called their bluff and got Picard back.

Breaking freedom i've never noticed Riker's style to sit, am i blind?? damn this honest trailer almost makes me want to re-watch the whole series ^^
That, and palm punches.
Riker also pulled the Picard Maneuver all the time too (pulling his shirt down). Those uniforms looked incredibly uncomfortable.
That was the highlight for me too!
"Counselor Troi: an empath who can always tell when someone is lying, except when she can't." LOL

“Better acting than Star Trek deserves” so much pain, that hurt so much
Edit: I pretty much agree with most of the people who are commenting under this
I mean... I definitely get it. Star Trek before Patrick Stewart was all cringe. With Patrick Stewart, it's actually very enjoyable. The tv show anyway. I liked most of the original movies minus the first one and the final frontier. Those were both horrible.
Hurts because it's true.
More like the acting Star Trek deserves...but I get it.
What would TNG be without Patrick Stewart

Fun fact: The Riker maneuver is because Johnathan Frakes has a serious back injury that makes it difficult for him to stand for long periods, and limits his flexibility when doing things like sitting in chairs.
Source?
It's a popular belief, but Frakes himself has denied it in interviews.
He did have moderate back problems, but claims the maneuver was an acting choice.
It screws with blocking to constantly move set furniture. Directors who act seem to be more conscious of this.

Make it so.
ROFLMAO oh my god now i cant get that image out of my mind. Thank you for that.
I mean, just ask and Patrick Stewart might just reprise the scene now, possibly while dressed as a lobster.
YES!!! That's some LAYERS man! via Polyjuice, for Gringotts... Plus all the second year Polyjuice fun...
In that particular scene and this one, I can tell the actors did a GREAT job... I can see every bit of Captain Picard/Patrick Stewart in that kid's acting, and he looks pretty well the part too.
That part where he runs into the observation lounge and runs into Rikers Arms for a hug exclaiming "daaaaaaad" just killed me because I could honestly see the adult Picard under the child exterior 😂😂 that kid did such a great job !!
that kardashian/cardassian joke was brilliant
but you forgot to even mention the most important character: Spot! and the amazing piece of poetry it gave to us: Ode to Spot

OMG! Maybe it was Odo from DS9!
Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature;
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.
A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion,
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.
O Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.
@merdufer Well played sir/madam, well played indeed!

I prefer Twilight Zone, including some of the episodes in the recent series, they make you think rather than depressed.
"Warp into the 24th century with an all-new U.S.S. Enterprise, an awkward hybrid of cutting edge space battleship and a Marriott Convention Center." Perfect description.
"the most british Frenchman in television history." I love how Patrick stewart didn't even try to act or sound French.
Picard was a descendant of Robin Hood as played by Kevin Costner.
LMAO!
There was a video clip from a convention where he talked about how they initially tried to have him do a French accent but then it just didn't work, and he did try to give an example in that clip too.
I've seen a convention video where he did a French accent but I'm not sure it's the same one you're talking about, in this one he jokingly did the "Space, The Final Frontier..." spiel in a comically exaggerated French accent.

IKR but somehow we believed he was French because HE said so. That's how persuasive he was. Damn.

Glad I'm not the only one bothered by that.
I had a professor once, who was French but learned British English just like Picard. Blew my mind.
If you hear the whole "boring" scene where Picard "owns" the Sheliak it's actually a very interesting and clever scene. Other that this was pretty accurate.

Yea, irl sf would have reassigned him to oversee the construction of his new ship. He could have had Galaxy class ship with a different name.
Yes! I always thought Riker taking his own command around season five or six, then his ship joining the crew of the Enterprise in some adventure or other every so often would have been a good evolution, even setup for a spinoff. Ah well.

Glad to see that Darmok & Jalad at Tanagra were too sacred to make light of in this one.
Well done!
I start reciting Darmok when someone is is speaking incoherently. It's fantastic when the incoherent person is clueless but while someone else within earshot knows the reference.

The Sheliak scene wasn't boring! It was the most exciting scene I ever saw anyone say "Then I must declare this treaty in abeyance." 😂
And pretty funny, too, with Picard passive-aggressively dusting the plaque like that.
@@natesmodelsdoodles5403 It was hilarious. The entire concept of Sheliak and the way they kept putting them down was great

I watch this honest trailer specifically for that Cardassian/Kardashian joke.

"Leather skinned" fits the Kardashians way more than the Cardassians.

You remembered to put Riker walking over chairs to sit in them, but you forgot to put him sticking his foot up on everything
Did you know he did both those things because he has a bad back? Jonathan Frakes injured his back when he had a job moving furniture, and that makes standing up long times and moving in certain ways difficult for him. So they made leaning on things and sitting down with his back straight part of his character, so he could focus on acting while having some support. He is a trooper!
