Opinion: I feel that shop notes should’ve never disappeared. Now, more than ever it would be a great addition to the DIY/ makers scene. Shop notes gave me my start decades ago and was a great resource for woodworking.

At the grocery checkout, I skipped the chocolate bars, gum and peanuts and went straight for the Shopnotes magazine.

The knob-mechanism that effects the micro-adjustment looks particularly ingenious. Are those barrel nuts?
I know, I know, buy the plans! ☺

This should convince anyone sitting on the fence to re-route their approach and upgrade.

I understand the micro adjustment and the reasoning but I don't understand why it's on a pivot. Wouldn't the adjustment be to move the entire fence rather than pivoting one side?

Clever fence. I’m guessing you ground out a notch near the end of the adjuster bolt and the short bolt on the top slides into that to pin it while still allowing it to spin. Very cool.

Actually, I used a cross dowel to hold the adjuster knob. The dowel can pivot in its hole to accommodate the change in axis due to the pivot.

@@WoodsmithShowandmagazine Nut in the dowel or just threaded in the wood? I’ll be buying the plans if you wanna keep it a mystery :)

I like the way the T tracks are situated. Would i be able to achieve finger joints using the track as a slide back and forth to cut the fingers. Great video

It should be called the "nunchuck" router table.

In the plans part C does not show the dimension for the taper. The piece is 3/4 x 2 3/8 x 3 5/8 but it is not shown as a rectangle.

I find using the insert as the spacer you have a greater chance of the outside pieces slipping up because of the bevel on it and I also don't want to risk accidentally gluing it in place.

What happened to my iPad subscription of Woodsmith? I have a mail subscription and had the convenience of also looking on my iPad. The app now ants me to subscribe. There was a number that I called in the past to ask these questions but I don’t see it listed anymore. Who do I contact for support?

@@WoodsmithShowandmagazine no, I’ve left a message on the web page and in the app but have not received a reply. I’m just assuming that COVID is the delay. I was gonna try to call but I’m getting rather frustrated with customer service calls. Most of the time it’s just a recording which no one replies to anyway.
