  • Golf Swing Sequence is crucial to know what moves when in the golf swing and the motion your club and body need to make in order to strike the golf ball out the middle of the club face, to make you hit more fairways and ultimately lower your golf scores.
    I discuss your hip action, arm action and leg action in the golf swing. All essential ingredients to make a very easy golf swing.

    As I see it, this video puts together your whole theory of the swing! All of the elements are there. It is a bit of a complex move as you say. The most difficult part of this for me is the feeling of pulling the handle toward the target line from the top and then pulling it down and left as the left hip moves back. It feels sort of over the top but when it is done correctly the ball flies as straight as can be! Great summary.

    Stuart. I absolutely love your channel! You are the only yourube golf coach I have come across who really explains and demonstrates. Others tell one what to do but don't back it up with meaningful understanding. I teach myself. I have been done many rabbit holes, but now I only really listen to you. Questions I get when working on my game get answered by you in your videos. No-one else has managed to answer these questions. Like why do I always push it to the right etc? Your explanations of lifting the handle (and other stuff) just answered this. There are so many examples of this kind of thing.
    Sometimes I may have difficulty getting to grips with some concepts, but as I work on my game I get these eureka moments when it all makes sense!
    You seem to have an uncanny knack of posting the perfect video at the right time for me. I have recently thought to work on sequencing but had questions about what moves when. BANG! Here is the perfect video! My game is getting better and better. My handicap is gonna get slashed once the handicaps unfreeze for the winter. I have just had my best three rounds ever (and in the winter!).
    I just want to say thank you. I will say it again THANK YOU! Keep 'em coming Sir! I will keep watching. I will keep improving!

    Fantastic video. Your explanation and visuals are superb. The gem I took away was feeling the weight of the club whilst it's on the ground and the analogy you used about doing a dead lift was spot on. I compared the two techniques: 1. with all of the weight of the club on the floor and 2. just lightly touching the floor and I was amazed at the takeaway difference. Although I am not a hover of the golf club, I will begin to place it lightly on the ground so that I can feel the weight of it before I begin my takeaway. I, too, am not a proponent of positional training, as it's as you described, static positions which is not a golf swing. Thanks for sharing and keep up the excellent work. Cheers.

    Great coaching...you explain concepts better than any one out there......I have a huge problem with my swing....curious if you could possibly do a video on it....I hit everything on the toe of the club....I mean every shot irons or driver....according to uneekor I swing about 9 degrees from the inside..(too much I'm aware but can't seem to shake that either)....hit everything on the toe.....kills any distance....I have a bad back and have a hard time getting much turn so I am very much an arm swinger....I can stand closer.....line up on the heel....line up on the toe....same results no matter what I do...TOE STRIKES.....all of my shots have a ton of left spin on them...making most of my shots hooks...or from day to day a two way miss....but mostly hooks and distance killers....even shots that I some how manage to zero out club paths still hit on the toe.....any help would be greatly appreciated....I could upload/send video if needed....I can't be the only weirdo with this problem......

    I think you have nailed it Stu. Over time it does get simpler. For me, I pretend that I am field on incoming ground ball coming from my left quadrant. Like you say you push out so you can lift up. In fielding a ball you absorb the balls energy so you can send it up the back chain in order to send back out to the golf ball. Once absorbed the pressure does flow from the right foot up the mid line and then the sacrum falls toward the left heel. As the sacrum is falling the club is tipping back. This blended motion is how you spiral into the left side, without going external with the left leg. Good stuff Stu..

      @@ST-xg3gyPersonally, I don't start my swing with the club grounded behind the ball. I trigger my action as I go out to the ball in my final measure. Kinda like fielding the ball with my glove hand. The Glove/Club brushes the ground behind the ball and is now sent over my right shoulder..

    Enjoyed the vid and worked hard with this at the range today, hit some very good shots at first, but then it lapsed into a lot of pull hooks or push slices, even the odd shank, and couldn’t get it back. Obviously not timing the various moves correctly. It does make sense, but feels like a lot of work needed to get comfortable with this

    I find that I can load up/swing my way into the backswing reasonably well however at that time, I start to think "HIT THE BALL" and I honestly believe I struggle more with the point of contact and even mores-so the proper finish than I do with the backswing. I appreciate that they are intended to be one contiguous move however mine might be an issue AFTER the backswing. ???

    When you do the move slower and move the handle out towards the ball line then push down and let the club finish the swing, I am now assuming we do not do so much of this when actually hitting the ball at real speed. I say that because I kept doing that move and swing ramping up my speed slowly and then because you really have the club so laid down, or shallow and then make that move to complete the swing, I now have a horrible case of golfer's elbow. I am in good shape and strong, and yet have a feeling when you swing, that move has to tailor down or you will pay the price. Which I now am. So am I correct that you don't actually move the butt of the club towards the target line that far during a full swing and compact those moves to a more apt swing that won't damage your elbow? Thanks.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  9 днів тому

      Your elbow issue is coming from your grip; almost all golfers elbows come from poor grip causing over rotation of forearms and excessive force and load through the elbows. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu.

      @@GoodGolfCoaching I don't think I can weaken my grip any more. I have a strong grip. Like not neutral but keep going 90 degrees from weak grip. But I will try to make it a tad stronger. And try to make sure I am not over rotating. Thanks.

      @@GoodGolfCoaching I guess I could have given more information. I had a 7.2 handicap from the Reds, and an 8.3 from the Whites. I don't use woods or drivers, all irons. I have only been playing for less than two years, but I spent the first three months at the range 6-8 hours a day working on my swing and took 5 lessons from five coaches. I have a club head speed for my 8i now around 82 but I was at 93 mph. I hit my 8i, when I am hitting well and flush, around 167. I hit my 5i 205 and my 2i around 220. When I did try a 3 wood I was around 240. I actually dialed my 8i back to 155. I have a SwingCaddie 300i and a Garmin R10 and the deWiz watch. I went from a neutral grip to now seeing pretty well all my knuckles. I can separate my top from bottom and thus, can move my hips first through the zone, or last. Or time it out as a race for the arms and belt buckle. My short game is now where I want it. I started off really hitting long irons, at that time, my 3 iron was my favorite club. I then started working on the short game and that effected my long irons. I have good days and bad, like most. I know you won't want to hear this but I am a straight ball hitter. No, I live by a straight ball flight. I may now want to learn how to shape the ball just so when I am off, I can understand the flight better and correct any path/face to get back to my straight ball. When I used a neutral grip, I did throttle or turn the screw or whatever phrase you want, to square the club. I did so by barely starting the club turning and then let gravity finish. It wasn't hard to hit straight thru the hitting zone. My problem was my weight on my back foot moreso than I wanted. I learned how to get my weigh forward but after time, seem to gradually go back to my trail side and thus, I can hit very high and still far, but not compressed and disappointing shots. When I do your method and go with the butt of the club towards the ball line, I really rip the club down towards my left waist and that snaps the club into square and I get compressed shots. But over time, my elbow gets tender. Granted, I just found your channel a week ago. I was using more of the hockey stick style but worry not, I have not migrated towards the Tommy Fleetwood umbrella and have no intentions of doing so. I started off all arms and hitting hard. I went to more chest and body rotation and dialed back my CHS. I have a great up and down ratio and love my short game, most days. And my putting saves my bacon. I just wanted to ask if we shallow the club too much and then whip that club over and down to finish the swing, if that could lead to a golfer's elbow. If you feel I am over rotating the forearms, will keep an eye on that. I have had some heavy draws or really snap hooks, but that was mostly with the hockey stick style and I am moving towards your technique to rid the dreaded snap hook. Again, thanks. Oh, and maybe I should add this in: I have played 58 rounds in the last 36 days and finally took the last few days off to rest the arm. So maybe I was over doing it a tad. Oh, bullocks on that. :)
