@@Wrestlelesson ALWAYS CHAMPION
Bro was not only powerful but very technical and compact.
Look how fluidly Mike switched stances. He was able to swap seamlessly between orthodox, southpaw, and square stance. Strikes and movement still come from any of the stances. It's insane.
That was Cus training. Mike is not only a genetic beast, he crossed path with the most clinical and hard worker trainer in the world. Cus didnt care about money or fame, he only loved box and wanted to create the perfect knock out machine, the perfect champion of the world.
Prime Mike Tyson got humbled by Buster Douglas.
I refuse to believe it is insane, I think that more likely, was jolly clever . old chap.
@@AlexZander688 wasn't prime and he had no sleep or training he was partying in Japan the day before fight
i've noticed that too. he doesn't fixate on one stance, and that makes him unpredictable. if his opponents have relied on the leading foot for orientation, they've paid for it.
When i was a kid playing guitar in my room.. my dad yelled " there's a Mike Tyson fight on" ...

I vividly remember my Dad being home for Tyson v. Spinks. He wasn't around much so it was a pretty big deal to have him home, and the PPV price was something absolutely astronomical for the era. A minute and thirty seconds later it was all over. Dad threw his beer at the TV.

The way Mike Tyson dodges and weaves through the punches is not human: 03:00
Called hard work, clued up, and the don trainer pal. Not human lool
I thought the same thing. Ahead of every punch.
That part
Without doubt - the best break down and analysis of just how dominant Mike Tyson was. Fantastic work. 10/10

@@BigRLH I give him 30 seconds.
There is not a boxer in history that could have beaten a 20 year old Iron Mike Tyson PERIOD
Nah, that's nonsense. Like the title says, "Prime Mike Tyson" was unreal - as in, a fiction.
He was a classic bully - fine as long as he could control the fight and the other guy was too scared to hit back.
But from the first time he fought a guy that actually wasn't afraid of him - Buster Douglas - he was a busted flush.
Tyson was never the same fighter again. When your "prime" ends with your first serious challenge - age 23 - you never were a great.
@@michaelgove9349 gotta agree, he was awesome when ahead but every time he was tested he failed..
@@michaelgove9349 classic bully?? the way you say it seems like he was in a school that the other kids didn't know how to fight back. Mike knocked out professional fighters, tough men... men that were afraid of nobody, men that could kill someone like you and me with just one punch. Just because he lost to Douglas it doesn't make him the greatest. Mike is known every where in the world... and Douglas?? who talks about him? who remembers him?? nobody...
@@michaelgove9349 Key word is PRIME. Tyson declined way earlier than the Buster fight and was nowhere near his prime. Even the fights he won in 89/90 he was clearly not the same...
Holyfield went the distance in a close fight with Holmes 4 years after Tyson basically destroyed him
Tyson said it himself “I dont care about legacy” but folks didnt get what he was really saying. He has kids to still provide for and a wife. That is his real legacy.
He has also said many times “I am not that guy anymore. That kid is not me”
He hasnt cared about boxing in his heart for decades.
That Mike is on film to enjoy. That Mike is from the mid 80s to early 90s. The likes we may never see again in boxing. Mike Tyson the boxer died long ago, long live Mike Tyson that is trying his best hopefully to be a better man and provide for his family.
This was a once in a lifetime bank for Mike and he timed it perfectly. Brilliant business move💰💰💰💰💰😎
Sure, pretending to fight in a rigged betting scheme is a super example for their sons. Tyson became a joke.
@@albertoalmeida3424 You totally missed the point that was made. He doesn't care about legacy, he made tens of millions if not hundreds from this fight. He is not a joke for being able to generate such income and audience and especially for fighting a 27 year old at the age of 58. Some people can barely move at that age.
He deserves all the respect.
Very true. He's already proven himself in the sport. He's already dedicated time/his life to this sport. He's already gone from bottom to the top seriously in this sport. He doesn't have anything else to prove to anyone. Anything he does from now on, is just pure banking for his family & I respect that.
You must be slow. How could you not understand the point that was made? Sit this one out.@@albertoalmeida3424

Tyson was never the best to do it - never beat another great HW in their prime!
@kevincrossinggum5015 That was kind of my point, the statistics don't tell the full story, watch prime Tyson and tell me which HW in their prime could handle that. Same with Woods.
Mike stepped into the ring tonight vs an unskilled pugilist/youtuber who in Mike's prime wouldn't have dared so much look in his direction, and he came up short, father time credited with the win though and not Jake Paul. Among the reason Mike claims he did so was because he wanted to show his kids he was a very special human being; I think tributes like this will hopefully help where his efforts tonight perhaps came up short. Thanks for making this and releasing it when you did.
Coming back to this after paul fight.

@@kevintorres9350 - Jake wouldn't even look at this Tyson.
@creed200569 - Tyson had to have had a few injuries coming into the Jake fight. I suspect his neck, knee, and low back. Anyone who ever had their low back go out knows you are a helpless sack of shiz when that happens. You can't move at all.
He would run through today’s heavy weights like a hot knife through butter. Man was a victim of his own success. If Cus hadn’t passed and was there to guide Mike when he became wealthy his reign would have carried into the early 2000’s without a doubt in my mind.
@normalguy1232 If, if, if. Not a chance!
@@craiggibson9922 One of the greats, thers no denying it
A focused Mike Tyson could beat anyone, but if Mike was off his game Fury would be the type to make him pay for it. Tyson Fury is precisely the type of fighter that would've given Mike trouble. Tall, great jab, excellent distance control, deceptively great stamina.
Can’t believe how many ‘hardcore’ fans downplay Tyson’s career. What an absolute beast!

just hearing the sounds of contact really sounds terrifying due to the blinding speed of every combination.
plus its being recorded on 40 year old technology.....sickening
Excellent documentary. Mike Tyson was the scariest man alive in his prime. People talk about his power and knockouts, but he moved like nobody else. It blows my mind to see his technical skill
Come on... Its the knee. You could tell it wasnt healed. But being Mike he was gonna fight anyway and show how he can still take the hits. I think when he's healed he'll fight him again. He didnt move like Mike, it was the knee.
@@rebekahmoore1258 💯 as soon as I saw the knee wrapped, I had a bad feeling. He couldn’t walk him down and had to wait for Jake to come to him. Not mikes style.

2:30 This is one of the greatest feats of athleticism I've seen in any sport. Tyson dodges 12-13 punches, takes a glancing uppercut, and then immediately unloads a knockout punch. The dude was superhuman in his prime.

I like watching 20+ year old footage too but that guy is not the same guy we have today.
Who is? In my prime, I was a national sprinter. Today at 65, I'd be lucky to finish a race.
I have never seen such a focused, powerhouse of a boxer like Tyson in my life, even Muhammad Ali who was light on his feet and fast was amazing, but Tyson has ultra-fast power and speed. When he goes in for the kill he moves real fast. Tyson was and is so adept at evasive manoeuvres to avoid the counter punches and jabs.
