These delays are far too small. I doubt they could've made any real changes in just a few days. So it's the devs fault for not preparing. A month or two delay would've worked out. Even if they finish early. That extra time could've helped polish it even more if they seemed it.
@@The.Nasty. is that the game that sold dlcs for an early access game, because they needed money because they broke some contract with a former company they worked for? Remember some drama like that a year ago or so.

@@hollowedricecakes3085 Yeah it happened. Now to be fair, there are certainly some new mechanics slapped on top of it, that makes it somewhat different.
@SirCreepsAlott Just remember one thing though: During the first crash, Nintendo stepped in and saved the videogame industry with their quality content. However there is no guarantee that they will do the same thing now since even Nintendo is slowly falling into the bad game practices. Not as much as the others but they do it too
@SirCreepsAlott i don't know if it's a whole industry crash, there are a lot of non-western studios doing great work( excluding Konami and a lot of Capcom's decisions) and even European and American studios doing great work. i feel it's just going to be the BIG big studios that are going to get hurt
I mean it's not that bad... ...for 10 days of copying and pasting files from the Arc folders. I guess some dude of the team received a notification on his phone saying "ATLAS release today" and he goes: "oh F... I totally forgot. I need to delay the release and scratch something from arc. Im a genius and no one will ever know."
No kidding, people are brain dead these days; Fallout 76 was the same way. I knew what was coming since I play Fallout 4.... same can be said since I play Ark.
The trailers actually looks good though, sure it looks like Ark, of course, but the graphics and gameplay in the trailers is far different than anything experienced in the game currently. It's crazy that people are defending the game though and acting like it'll somehow get better when Ark is still in shambles years after it's release.
Heard? Ark players knew about this Atlas game since the summer but it was just a rumor then and people thought it was going to be an official total conversion, not a new game. Obviously it's a whole new game that ISN'T developed by Wildcard(ark's studio), just some developers that got the rights to their UE4 assets which is pretty easy as long as it won't be a copy paste in all aspects.
@@muddlen7928 That's one asset flip I wouldn't mind. Take all the ship elements of Black Flag and expand upon it. I think it would be the first good pirate game in a few years.
I jave a theory that either the devs or publishers or whoever, are just putting out games as,fast as they can to get the money, then they'll worry about possibly cleaning things up later
@@greenhead333 This is what happened during the last crash, companies kept out putting cash grabs as fast as possible that were sure to be hits yet were flops. Seems like things work in a cycle.

honestly i think that wildcard is getting way more hate than they deserve considering the fact that the majority of people that send hate their way are people that have over 100 hours into ark and the fact that out of all the shady anti consumer shit going on in the gaming industry rn wildcard is doing a pretty damn good job not jumping on the microtransaction bandwagon as well as providing dlc that actually adds many more hours of gameplay and content vs dlc that does absolutely nothing to improve or add to the game as for atlas specifically yea it has a bunch of issues that need to get fixed asap and im sure over time those issues will get fixed but im also sure peopel will still force themselves to hate it by considering it to be just a reskinned ark and personally as true as that may be i dont actually see the problem with that i mean so many other game series do the same thing if not worse yet those games dont receive any hate for it so clearly the hate towards wildcard is biased because when they do somethign that has been being since video games were a thing but only wildcard gets a bandwagon of outrage for it there is no denying that that outrage has only happened due to bias and mob mentality
@@Zack-dk3pt perhaps it was the fact that what they showed in the trailer was absolutely nothing like the game itself? But no you keep defending lazy and false business practices, I'm sure the publishers will pat you on the head for being a good little sheep.

Well @ImAnderZEL, remember that ARK has consistently been in STEAMS top 10 list since it's EA launch, despite never hitting a release date and some fairly boneheaded mistakes by the development team. It'll be interesting to see if Atlas follows the same pattern. The art style is the same, however I didn't see any direct asset flips except for perhaps some of the vegetation/landscape features. All of the creatures are different, the oceans are drastically different, ships don't exist in ARK, etc. Early mechanics, animations, etc. were likely tested in an ARK development build @Charr Churl... which makes sense considering many of the underlying mechanics are the same between the two franchises. Essentially Atlas is just a Pirate/Fantasy version of ARK, and really hasn't been expected to be anything but that. Half of ARKs development team is heading up the Atlas development team, and Grapeshot Games is the sister company to Wildcard games.
Okay, remember ... This year we have had: EA: It had its worst year, loss of profits in all its titles, its way of life (Lootboxes) is in the crosshairs of legality and its investors leave it little by little Bethesda: A mediocre title that destroyed his reputation in a few weeks and with all the controversies included Activision / Blizzard: Using one of the most beloved franchises as a nefarious attempt to obtain higher profits (Immortal Devil) Affecting its reputation and credibility along with the loss of its investors and the possibility of even more mediocre games Nintendo: ... The online sucks
Gabriel Oviedo Casañas Slight correction, aside from online they’re rather dry in regards to their first party games getting released. The notable ones for Switch are Pokemon Let’s Go, Kirby Star Allies, and Smash Ultimate.
Sony: Everything Japanese is getting censored, worldwide. Microsoft: *Cricket noises* Ubisoft: pay us real money for plot progression if you don't wanna grind, also pre order this soft drink to gain access to our new games private beta Bonus Activision/Blizzard: We are rushing to let go of as many QA people as possible so we can rush out crap mobile titles Bonus EA: Literal fascistic rewriting of history(check out the Gameinformer review of BFV, they actually think the campaigns stories were real life events as portrayed in the game....)
I'm so happy that wildcard are finally getting some mainstream attention of their incompetence. Being an ARK player for two years, it's gone on for way too long now
S I I bailed as soon as I found that the resolution and frame rates were horrific for base PS4. 720p at 15fps. Fuck that. Base Xbox One and Switch aren’t much better, with the latter dropping to 170p. Just incompetence on all fronts.
What's funny is this is technically the second ARK flip. Dark and Light was the first. All it had going different was a crappy quest system and a few different enemy visuals.
Rule of thumb: Whenever they say "it will be ready in x", multiply that number by 2. Studios should just take the time they actually need instead of pissing off EVERYONE.
Yeah, they should learn from Doctor Scott, who was infamous for overestimating how long it would take to do things because A, he usually was given less time than he estimated, and B, real-life estimates for timelines, budgets, etc are usually done conservatively to account for emergencies and imprecision.
@YongYea Have you heard of what Activision done with loot boxes in Black Ops 4? I am quite surprised you didn't done a cover on that yet. In case you didn't: Once you purchase loot box you can... pay to get what is inside right away, otherwise wait as the purchased stuff is given through time. There is a bug thats been in the game since near launch where you can randomly crash 20% of the time when entering a boss arena. So you can breed dinos for 3 weeks, grinding materials and ammo the whole time, schedule a team meet up on the weekend when everyone has time, organize a boss fight, plan everything out. .. . . and your fucking game crashes and everything dies. If i was making a game I wouldn't let anything happen until this bug was fixed. What the hell have they been doing these last few years?
That's why i've taken to backing up my saves. Had my worlds and characters wiped over and over and finally when it didn't wipe I instead got a glitch that made progressing impossible.
Thats a valid opinion. I personally love ARK, but not on official servers. Only singleplayer or rented servers I play with a good tribe and friends, which in my experience can help any game

I feel likes this year in games has been dev's trying to get away with things they thought players would eat up (micro transactions, broken and bugged games, and overpriced DLC) but now people are starting to realize its a bunch of bullshit and that dev's are trying to take money from our pockets, and that enough is enough.

@SirCreepsAlott It's not ironic, it's a reasonable person having a sense of perspective to say "this is very bad, this is kinda bad but excusable". That way genuinely bad things like Bungie's behavior with Destiny 2 actually gets amplified by comparison rather than just being the latest in an eternal foghorn of "Reeeeeeeeeeeee".
Look, ARK got pretty bad scores acros the board, but ARK players still love it, because despite its shortcomings it's still great value and great fun. Atlas may be built on top of ARK, the studio doesn't have the greatest developers, so hiding reused engine is hard for them (ARK's executable is still called "ShooterGame.exe" ffs). However, it's still a very different game, it's like a very very big expansion on top of total conversion on top of somewhat changed engine (I don't think stock ARK would be able to handle as many players even as badly as Atlas did). Remember the story about Fallout 76 reusing updated Morrowind engine? How many games were there by Bethesda that did that? Should they have called Skyrim an Oblivion DLC? I don't think so. And even then, there's a FIFA game out every year, you thing each and every one of them is brand new product built from scratch? What about Sims with billions of DLC and no season passes? What about Total War games? They're pretty much reskins/rebalances of the same concept. I'm sure some people would have a great time with Atlas with hundreds of hours played despite all the bad reviews. I'm sure people just leave those because it isn't as good as some $60 titles, despite having loads more content. And I've spent on ARK even less than on Overwatch, provided I waited for sales to buy it and its DLCs. It's like if there's a shiny polished kitch knife with ivory handle and all that, people like it and leave great reviews on it, except they don't use it, they use a plastic chinese multitool that can cut whatever in whichever shape in a few clicks, except it works unreliably and the shapes aren't that precise and it looks terrible, so they hide it in their kitchen cabinet and tell everyone it's crap and keep the knife where it's visible, but the effort of using that amazing knife is just not worth it, so when they need something cut they take out the horrible plastic mess.
IcedLance Bethestda rewrote major parts of theie engine from morrowind to oblivion. From obligion to skyrim. And from Skyrim to Fallout 4. This much is obvious looking at the difference in the games and how they run, how they look and gameplay mechanics changing. Atlas has none of that. The engine is *the same*. No rewriting, no changes no effort, just the same. So it doesn’t help that ARK’s engine was shit to begin with and never properly fixed before they pushed DLC’s and release. And now they want to create a new standalone game from the exact same game and engine? Wow.
> From obligion to skyrim Not that much. Mostly UI. > and gameplay mechanics changing well, they've added dragon shouts, guess that counts. > The engine is *the same*. No rewriting, no changes no effort, just the same. And how do YOU know that? Because it had the same menu? Because it reuses assets? Who knows what is going under the hood. For one ARK servers are limited to 50 people a server tops, I assume Atlas claims to be able to handle more? That'd mean they at least TRIED to change networking or whatnot.
Atlas is a good game, though. Just don't play official servers. THey always suck. The game is fine. And we already k new it flipped assets. It was obvious from the first trailer. Anyone who thought otherwise is being disingenuous. But it's still fun and has unique mechanics, many new creatures, etc.
take a time machine and find out what the shit game that had a terrible release with shitty servers is and how it did over the last decade and a half. hint: it’s acronym is WoW
Soligen Music who the fuck is ripping who off here? there was zero doubt that this was going to be using the same engine as ark, all the features they promised are in the game, the only legit thing people have to complain about are servers overloaded from too many players wanting to play. jfc what is wrong with you people, all these comparisons to FO76 and NMS are the most short sighted knee jerk reactions I’ve seen from this stupid “gamer” community
@@LogicKidroy without a doubt it's a similar story to people who still defend ARK, I don't know why people can't just accept the flaws of that game. Don't disrespect pegging tho, one in the bum ain't no harm done.
This is not the first time something like this happened. Snailgames (who own wildcard) have done something like this 3 times already. The games Dark and Light, ArkPark and PixArk are all made using a similar strategy. It's weird how nobody even talks about these games though.
I'm now starting to question Early Access as a whole. The main reason companies can't be sued for false advertising is because they hide behind the Early Access tag but does it even have the ability to protect them under law or do we just _think_ that? Can I sell a partially built dishwasher and tell the buyer I'll finish it later? The entire climate of Early Access is dodgey at best.
Early Access isn't all bad, Prison Architect always springs to mind. Perfect example of how to do early access right. It's been fully released for years now and it just got a free multiplayer update.
The problem is devs that release their games under early access. They should NOT be making trailers and hyping up the game before it even enters early access.
The warning signs were all over. >Early Access >Ark assets >"_____ players all on one single server!!!" >$30 lmao >First delay >Announcement of game not even 2 months after they just released their last ark dlc
The same thing happened with Mighty No.9 and it was, as well, completely crap. 2018 has yet to end and many video game companies has seen their reputation down in the drain.
Seems like nowadays the business strategy is to announce a game way too early in development and then release a broken underdeveloped game marketed as “early access”
Someone suggested they made ATLAS a stand alone game since there is a season pass for ARK. So if they made it as a DLC for ARK they wouldn't be able to charge people who had already paid for it with the season pass. But if they make it a "new" game they can charge them again. Are all game developers complete scumbags these days?
Actually they could simply make it a new season or such and make a new season pass, it happens all the time, they made atlas a standalone game because it wouldn't work on ark's server network with such a large map and player count, and because the ark community would flip out over all the fantasy and pirate stuff, like they have in the past with tek and non dinos
@@Aetius_of_Astora They practically did. People that bought Ark and Scorched earth while it was in early access had the opportunity to buy the "Complete your season pass" package.
*Paid DLC should not be allowed in Early Access.* *Also, early access should work differently. If they want to charge $30 for the game, have the users pay $15 for entry, since you are basically only giving them half the game, and then once the full retail game is ready, allow them to decide if they want to spend $15 more to have access to the full game or to walk away from the project.* *That would encourage developers to work hard on creating a game that people would want to actually play, and they would then double their money.*
Hahahahahahaha. You know, games used to actually do a small private beta for free to test that the product actually works before charging money. This would be done months in advance so if there were actual problems they could still be fixed BEFORE the game was released.
The Witcher 3 is on sale, you can buy 2 copies of the GoTY edition for what this costs. I already own Witcher 3, but it would be a better use of my money to just buy 2 more copies to support those God like Devs.

There is a reason why this looks copy and paste from Ark. ARK WAS ALWAYS A COPY AND PASTE FROM THE UNREAL ENGINE ASSET STORE. THE DEVS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LAZY. Ark itself got its start by just plugging together assets they bought straight off the UE4 asset store. Little work was ever done to create any of their own assets. There were a few reviewers of Ark when it launched that pointed this out, but they were ignored. Ark devs just bought their assets to get started and didn't do any actual development of them! This is why the game has always run like shit, because it was never designed, it was cobbled together. It's like a contractor building a house by just tacking new things onto it willy nilly without any understanding of process, order, and stability.
@@seafaringalligator They didn't steal assets. They own them, so they used them. Atlas always looked like an asset flip. From the first trailer months ago. It's all fake nerd outrage because some nerds couldn't get on official servers day 1 and official servers are laggy.

Game devs and Journalist like Jason think that players are acting entitled. Then simply they are not entitled to our money. I get amazed how people like EA CEO insult player community calling them ignorant, arrogantly saying not to buy the game and still expect to make sales and turnover a profit. As if with the all the political bullshit they throw in, we will still fork out our money. Who is the one acting entitled here? Remember they exist for the players, not the other way round. Same goes for Bethesda. They are not doing any favours. Don’t idolise them. Show loyalty to those who return it with sincerity. Any business .. and I mean ANY which acts conceited and loses the pulse of their consumers will inevitably fail.
Because people are acting entitled. It's called early access, the game is going to be broken. If you don't like early, broken builds of games then don't buy early, broken builds of games. It's so fucking simple.
@@crumbmoment "it's called early access" no it's not, you've never actually read any early access agreement, especially the steam one, so shoosh, it's called making a dlc for an existing game and then trying to crowd fund development for it under the false pretence of it being a brand new product, and you're doing that because when its an actual dlc you've already sold a season pass to everyone who cared. Crowd funding your game through early access is specifically listed as a thing that early access is not for, you would know that if you knew what "early access" actually meant and not just type it everywhere like it is a valid and logic excuse for blatantly shady business practices.
Didn't the company that made that close a couple of days before the game was released? Is the game still going to get updates? As I don't think it's finished

Ik, I knew this game was bullshit the day it was announced. Also none of the dumb fucks that actually are fans of ark remember them talking about them working to release a pirate themed experience with Ragnarok, then never following through.
it started off really promising with Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I mean, that had bugs at launch too, but at least the devs worked hard to fix them. Little did we know how bad it would get in the second half of 2018...

If anything steam should crack down on early access titles. Have steam staff review the game and track it's progress. If the game isn't meeting standards then remove it from the store.
@@live4aces Would be great but highly unlikely that all platforms would implement a system like this. But for PC users it's obvious. Steam is extremely popular, very convenient, and has the largest marketplace for games. There's only the need for one company who does it all right. No lies, a finished and complete product, little to no issues upon release and satisfaction of customer's needs. Of course, by providing all that, money in large amounts would be needed. That's why I fear asian companies who have the necessary money. One correct and carefully planned move and they'll get their grasp on the western market.
Honestly, there _are_ amazing companies out there. I personally like HiRez's work on Smite (...not necessarily their other games, though) and Amplitude Studios are a company of goddamned angels.
I am NOT going to defend this Bullshit company and what they did here, BUT I have to say this: The Original Devil May Cry was actually going to be another Resident Evil Game, starring Leon Kennedy. During Development though it slowly turned from a survival Horror into an Action Game and in the end they replaced Leon with Dante and thus Devil may Cry was born. You can still see the Resident evil influence tough in the fixed Camera angles, the Resident Evil Style "Puzzles" etc. Same goes for Onimusha. It was supposed to be a Resident Evil Game set in the past (not sure if it was always meant to play middle age Japan or in middle age Europe) but turned out so different they made a new Franchise out of it. What I am trying to say: It COULD have been that Atlas was originally intended to be a DLC for Ark, but during the development the Developers saw much more in it and tried to make an actual full game out of it! Things like this happen, the only noteworthy thing here is that they fucked it up. So I am not going to blame them for making the Oceans DLC to the full game Atlas, But i blame them for not even trying to give it it's own flavour and just asset flip everything and think "this is different enough
Except with Devil May-Cry Capcom was actually attempting to innovate on what they had, and make a more action based game. When they realized it had become unrecognizable as a Resident Evil game, they made it it's own thing. It was one of several attempts at making Resident Evil 4. Atlas isn't even that.
I blame them for not Fixing ark and doing dlc cash grabs and then this. Done with wildcard. They are now on my list of do not buy from like E.A. And Bethesda
I knew this developer was shady when they started releasing PAID DLC for ARK when it was still in early access. When you participate in an early access scheme, in effect, you’re becoming an investor in that product. You give money to the developer with the understanding that the money will be used to pay the wages for programmers, artists etc who are creating something the investors saw potential in. For the developer to then take some of those funds and use them to develop other projects, which they subsequently release as paid content seems, at best, wrong, and at worst, fraud. Since ARK Survival Evolved was still in early access, they can't possibly have had any funds from 'retail release' to pay for the development of DLC, so it seems very likely that money people gave them for their early access game was used to develop their paid DLC. It really feels like a slap in the face to early access purchasers, knowing that the money given to the developer to create a game they were spruiking, was instead used to develop something else they then asked gamers to pay for (again). Atlas is just further proof of how shitty and dishonest this developer is. They don't give a shit about gamers. They just want your money. Don't support these assholes by buying anything they _ever_ release in the future.
yes that is one of the cons to releasing on early access is that there is no money when you launch as most already have the game of them that is interested, so selling dlc when still in ea is just something you may have to do if you are in there for a long time.
The sad part is that most people don't know and don't care about all that stuff. They don't even know the studio is related to Wildcard, hell they probably don't even know the name of the studio. There is a reason why EA, Activision and other bullshit dev/publishers are still making billions : their customers are uneducated dumbfucks, and it won't change anytime soon.
@@Texelion after the Optimus/Deligracy Sims fight, I realized the Sims 4 (that no one was asking for because they literally had given us the last expansion for The Sims 3 nine months previously) was released to fund Battlefront. The Sims 4 has always pissed me off, but after realizing that along with optimus's video, I'm so mad everytime I think about the Sims. Those fuckers hooked me young. I was like 12 when the first Sims game came out. Even knowing everything I know now, I still want everything for The Sims 4. Somebody send help.
So the original Developer tried to make a Asset-flip of their own game and tried to sell the game as a new original game. We've officially reached next level of deceptive game developers SMH.
David Strickland Exactly. They just shit out these games on everything and don't even bother optimizing them. Just look at the Switch version of Ark! They just shat that onto the system to get more money without even bothering to make a halfway playable version! Same with Xbox and Ps4, how does it run so bad on more powerful hardware???
@@takashiari1598 Agreed the optimization is horrible years after release. So many bugs aswell. I live ARK but I still cannot deny the absolute shambles that it is.
If you fuckers think those devs are bad, look at Klein House. Space Engineers has been in alpha/beta for nearly 6 years! (Or something equally ludicrous. Can't remember precisely how long.) And it STILL runs like hot shit. They even broke their mod loading recently. But of course they'd make a new game rather than finish the older one.
@@ASlutty9SUnit just don't buy any survival games.they suck all together.refounded everyone after trying because the wohle genre is an assetflip.the only ppl. that are happy are the private server provider.
No Hal, it's not actually. Same style of art and animation, many of the same underlying mechanics, but many huge differences as well (Oceans, ships, buildings, skills). However, even if it was a copy of ARK but set up as a different genre (Pirate / Fantasy) and as a true MMO (40k per server) that would be more than fine. ARK is an extremely popular game (consistently in STEAMS top 10), ATLAS could very well follow in it's footsteps.
Not to mention, the community surrounding the game is already extremely toxic. It seems like everyone who actually enjoys the game will find any excuse for it, For example, while in game I asked why I had such a low fps and I got responses like, "Upgrade your potato", "What did you expect from an early access", "Why did you buy this game just to complain about it".
Some gamers are dumb. They say things like "well I have fun in the game with friends" - even though anything can be fun with friends. They think that just because a game can be fun to some people - it can't be a bad game then. So in their eyes, there's no such thing as a bad game. If it were up to those people, games would never get updated or fixed.
I assume you guys didn't play ark because this is exactly how ark was at launch lol the game gets a lot of attention and the actions of few don't reflect the actions of a majority. But this game is like the crysis of games in the sense that it's so unoptimized it doesn't run well on any hardware.
Keep in mind i wanted to play ark with my roommate while my computer was out of commission for a bit and ark was running on a surface pro tablet GEN 1. Mind you it look like straight potato mode but it was still impressive to me that they got it to that point where it basically ran on a tablet hardware from 2013
how many times are players going to have to get burned before they stop supporting early access and preorders? seriously. this happens time and time again, and yet somehow people are still surprised.
The problem is that most gamers don't read/watch gaming news so this stuff has to spread very slowly by word of mouth via us that actually pay attention. Everyone else just watches paid trailers and buy what looks cool. Ugh, normies.
My question is ... what's happening with game developers??? studio after studio make increasingly more serious and worst mistakes ... what's happening ???
"The road to success is littered with failures" Today, companies cannot hide failures any more thanks to many companies being publicly traded, social media becoming more and more accessible and the call out culture causing everybody anticipating any screw ups.
Gamers have become soft to what they pay for, in the past none of this early access shit was acceptable, you messed up and gamers knew and remember, but now with scum developers like these they can just excuse themselves from any bug from the game because "it's early access, we will fix it later" and worse of all is that gamers believe it
@@MrCharly780 You can't even call most of those people gamers anymore, since either they quit after five minutes because they are too dumb to get past the tutorial and whine 'nerf it, nerf it!', complain when people say git gud (because that is part of playing a game, getting good at it), or they look at every pixel with a critcal eye, shouting 'discrimination' or 'sexism' at every other white pixel. It is just sad how things have become... Anyways, sorry for the rant. And I agree with you.
I am afraid we have hit the next video game market bubble and it starts to build critical mass... Let's hope for our sake that I am wrong (like most of the time)...
PixArk is not that bad if you like ARK and Minecraft. Personally i had like 150 fun hours in PixArk before i put it down. Trying to like ATLAS, but it's hard when it's hard to play ingame, FPS, performance etc. Guess i go back to ARK and beat the titans until ATLAS is a little more playable.
Im really surprised Yong hasnt done a video on "Identity" yet. The game that garnered over 1.5 million USD in support, featured trailers showing gameplay that doesn't exist, a community manager who just graduated high school, banning users off of discord and forums for negative feed back, servers being completely unavailable for 72 hours after launch, the CEO firing most of the dev team, the CEO being accused of being a pedophile, the game being non-functional beyond Fallout 76's broken state, and a delayed launch of a few days over 2 years. I could go on more but I dont want to put all the fun bits in one comment.
Just watching the trailer, it looks like Ark when it comes to the animation and environment. I know a lot of people have played Ark so I'm surprised no one caught this earlier. I thought it when watching E3 and my boyfriend was like "is this Ark?" Haha.
Oh, MANY people caught it. Most of them are just ignoring Atlas completely so they aren't being heard. I'm only here because I was checking out Nooblet's stream to see if Atlas actually played differently than Ark (nope! Pirates do not start their pirating careers chopping wood and stone and freezing to death by a campfire on beaches lol).
The classic dodgy contractor strategy: > Just do a bunch of shoddy work that is expensive and fails the customers and then when the heat gets to hot > fold the company and start all over again with a new name, no one will notice and let the cash roll! Studio Wildcard is run by the rotten apples so their entire barrel is a black festering, bacteria ridden husk of greed and damnation.
Given that Ark had a whole bunch of bullshit surrounding it, I'm not surprised. Poor performance which never got addressed until post-release. Game-breaking bugs which never got addressed throughout the entirety of early access and are still ongoing to this day in spite of being things it's unreasonable to expect players to just put up with in a supposedly finished title. Handfuls of promised content not just cut from the game but instead sold as DLC *while the game was still in early access* and being developed in place of fixing core game bugs, including development of bugfixes only included in the DLC builds which fixed bugs in the main game (but only for DLC owners). That they're pulling more shit on the players in a new title is really not surprising in the slightest.
WildCard is famous by It's delays. Extinction itself was delayed almost 13 hours on release day. It's surprising that people still hope for something good considering the release of Ark on Switch, unfixed bugs and poor optimizations of Ark.
Honestly, I watch video game news daily. For those who bought this game I think it’s safe to say you probably followed the PR up until it’s official release. With PR and a release process so damn spotty why would you feel like it’s a smart idea to buy the game on the release date? I saw this happening and I was like na I’m not going to buy that game I’ll just wait. I waited and I not only saved my money I didn’t go through the stress of being scammed. Gamers, just wait till the game releases.
If people just waited for the release of a shitty game, everyone would be in the same situation. That would solve nothing, unless you had some people buy it early and expose it. But then people would just call them idiots for buying early, like you're doing.
Steam workshop is what saved ARK from being left to die by the playerbase. Looking at how many QoL mods i use Wildcard is never going to get the game the way many players want it to be. ATLAS is just another moneygrab and not "looking for new challenges" as the devs claim. They have started so many projects and all of them were don half assed and are not even finished. We have half finished games since so many idiots pre-order games no matter what because they fall for the hype. ARK as an idea was good and had a lot of potential....the devs like every other team out there just see $$$ and don't care if their product sucks after 2-3 patches since they already have the money. If this was a car manufacturer or any other thing they would have been sued already.
@@MyVanir Guess why they are having these modding contests? Sure...modders get the appreciation they deserve by getting a prize and Wildcard a mod they can add to the game....which is more or less a win win....but not really if you realize that WC can't fix their own game. How can you trust them to do their next game without flaws? I predict they lose interest in Atlas at some point and push "more enthuiastic" programmers onto it then move to their next unfinished project.

These delays are far too small. I doubt they could've made any real changes in just a few days. So it's the devs fault for not preparing. A month or two delay would've worked out. Even if they finish early. That extra time could've helped polish it even more if they seemed it.

There is a bug thats been in the game since near launch where you can randomly crash 20% of the time when entering a boss arena.
This is kinda sad tbh. I’m glad I didn’t care about atlas that much, because I would be pissed off. But as an ark player, I saw this coming
Yeah well I’m a consoler so I’m just getting me some popcorn and enjoying the show
Look, ARK got pretty bad scores acros the board, but ARK players still love it, because despite its shortcomings it's still great value and great fun.
Wow.
> From obligion to skyrim
Not that much. Mostly UI.
> and gameplay mechanics changing
well, they've added dragon shouts, guess that counts.

Someone suggested they made ATLAS a stand alone game since there is a season pass for ARK. So if they made it as a DLC for ARK they wouldn't be able to charge people who had already paid for it with the season pass. But if they make it a "new" game they can charge them again. Are all game developers complete scumbags these days?
atnfn You know what people need to live? Money.
Yes they are.. They all are trash that deserve to be homeless

@@Aetius_of_Astora They practically did. People that bought Ark and Scorched earth while it was in early access had the opportunity to buy the "Complete your season pass" package.
*Paid DLC should not be allowed in Early Access.*
*Also, early access should work differently. If they want to charge $30 for the game, have the users pay $15 for entry, since you are basically only giving them half the game, and then once the full retail game is ready, allow them to decide if they want to spend $15 more to have access to the full game or to walk away from the project.*
*That would encourage developers to work hard on creating a game that people would want to actually play, and they would then double their money.*

I'm playing the game rn and honestly I find it fun even though the devs are retarded
Honestly, there _are_ amazing companies out there. I personally like HiRez's work on Smite (...not necessarily their other games, though) and Amplitude Studios are a company of goddamned angels.
We are in a dark age of gaming my friend.
I am NOT going to defend this Bullshit company and what they did here, BUT I have to say this:
The Original Devil May Cry was actually going to be another Resident Evil Game, starring Leon Kennedy.
That's a randy bit of history. Thanks daddio

Since ARK Survival Evolved was still in early access, they can't possibly have had any funds from 'retail release' to pay for the development of DLC, so it seems very likely that money
people gave them for their early access game was used to develop their paid DLC.

Can't remember precisely how long.)
And it STILL runs like hot shit. They even broke their mod loading recently.
But of course they'd make a new game rather than finish the older one.
@SirCreepsAlott bugthesda doesnt give its place that easily hahaha they want that crown of worst developers back
@@ASlutty9SUnit just don't buy any survival games.they suck all together.refounded everyone after trying because the wohle genre is an assetflip.the only ppl. that are happy are the private server provider.
Did no one watch the trailers? It was obvious using ark as base game.
Right? There's literally a dire bear in the trailer pulling a cart..
"Base game" it's a 1:1, carbon copy of Ark.
I saw the trailer at the awards. The frame drops and texture fuckery kinda gave it away for me lol
@@Ranger1PresentsVirtualRealms nah, its dead on the first step
Ah so you met the devs
Samuele Sanniti underrated reply
I assume you guys didn't play ark because this is exactly how ark was at launch lol the game gets a lot of attention and the actions of few don't reflect the actions of a majority. But this game is like the crysis of games in the sense that it's so unoptimized it doesn't run well on any hardware.
Keep in mind i wanted to play ark with my roommate while my computer was out of commission for a bit and ark was running on a surface pro tablet GEN 1. Mind you it look like straight potato mode but it was still impressive to me that they got it to that point where it basically ran on a tablet hardware from 2013
YONG YEA YOU ARE A GODSEND. doing god's work.
Do you work regularly?
how many times are players going to have to get burned before they stop supporting early access and preorders? seriously. this happens time and time again, and yet somehow people are still surprised.
No one got burned here, though. You got exactly what was obvious and paid for.
kalathi games like rust can show that early access actually can work
The problem is that most gamers don't read/watch gaming news so this stuff has to spread very slowly by word of mouth via us that actually pay attention. Everyone else just watches paid trailers and buy what looks cool. Ugh, normies.
Amen to the original post!
Because the average consumer doesn't give a shit and is ignorant about how their actions affect their games and how they're developed.
My question is ... what's happening with game developers??? studio after studio make increasingly more serious and worst mistakes ... what's happening ???
"The road to success is littered with failures"
Today, companies cannot hide failures any more thanks to many companies being publicly traded, social media becoming more and more accessible and the call out culture causing everybody anticipating any screw ups.

Congrats!

Whooooooooooooo. Nice.
Hey so it's definitely better then Fallout 76 but then again that isn't saying much
Steam is the real MVP.
(Even though Valve has let TF2 devolve into the gaming equivalent of homo habilis lol 😂)
Good channel, it's cool checking these updates. I don't even play these games, but it's cool to see people speaking up and defending consumers.
Was anyone surprised after the disaster known as Pixark?
Pixark is a great game, its just dead
PixArk is not that bad if you like ARK and Minecraft. Personally i had like 150 fun hours in PixArk before i put it down.
Trying to like ATLAS, but it's hard when it's hard to play ingame, FPS, performance etc. Guess i go back to ARK and beat the titans until ATLAS is a little more playable.
"pixark is a great game it's just dead"...... Pixark is new... If it's dead ALREADY then it's obviously not great
Is that really done by them I thought it was a clone
@@certanmike Think Snail Games US is involved in it which also does ARK Park and Dark and light
The classic dodgy contractor strategy:
> Just do a bunch of shoddy work that is expensive and fails the customers and then when the heat gets to hot
> fold the company and start all over again with a new name, no one will notice and let the cash roll!

Buying paint for your power armor in Fallout 76 would be a better investment.
Even that is a rip-off like Evolve. 5 dollars for fucking BLU?!?!
@@GoldInk-ds5up Make alternate characters and do the Challenges to get ATOM's to buy stuff for free by playing the game / getting to lvl 50
So Wildcard just followed in Bethesda's footsteps in letting the players fix their shit game?
@@MyVanir Guess why they are having these modding contests? Sure...modders get the appreciation they deserve by getting a prize and Wildcard a mod they can add to the game....which is more or less a win win....but not really if you realize that WC can't fix their own game. How can you trust them to do their next game without flaws? I predict they lose interest in Atlas at some point and push "more enthuiastic" programmers onto it then move to their next unfinished project.
