How I feel daily. I live in Colorado. I’m active, fit, got a bachelors. That still isn’t enough. I feel like I’m invisible. Cried the other day when a lady held my hand when I was getting fingerprinting done for my masters program. I’m so touched deprived and lonely. I feel invisible and it sucks.
I feel you homie. If you want advice I've found hobbies really really rewarding. I study philosophy and love to read people like Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Schopenhauer in my spare time (helps with the stale Hegel/Kant/Aristotle classes I'm forced to take). It helped me reasses a lot in my life and find other passions like excercise, forcing myself to meet people, and writing. You'll make it:)
Hi, I just wanted to say I’ve been there. I understand that feeling of excitement you get when someone speaks to you, only for them to tell you to move. Going home having spoken to no one all day with a lump on your throat hoping someone could save you. One day I had enough and I asked God to take my life because I was too much of a coward to do it myself. Instead He showed me a love that I never thought was possible of obtaining, a love that no human on this earth can provide. A true unconditional love. A strange supernatural love that never leaves you wherever you go. A love that He helps you grow and it grows so much that you want to share it with everybody, even strangers on UA-cam. I ask you my friend to talk to the Lord, your Father. He’ll wipe away your tears and give you a future like you never imagined, full of hope, joy and strength. Jesus loves you

speaking the local language is critical, and try to stay around the areas where the american military bases are around. Korea as a whole is not suited to tourists or non-koreans, as of 5 years ago when i went (atms dont take your cards, foreign exchange currency places are non-existant outside of the airport/banks, we had to go to a 6 star resort to find an international atm, the local restaurants dont take overseas CC's, taxi drivers dont speak english and so wont pick you up unless a korean calls them over etc, but this was just before rideshare apps took off big) But if you're white, why are you going to asia and not eastern europe/meditteranean? same situation. I had way more fun as a tourist in philipines, indonesia, vietnam (cops are corrupt there though its creepy), and singapore than i did in korea.
lmao everything here is wrong, dont listen to this anon, i went to korea solo in march 2024 for two weeks and my experience was so good, now i just want to came back to SK and spent a month or two to fully explore it 1st speaking local language is not critical - you can buy cheap internet SIM or use any free wifi (literally everywhere except non urban areas) to use translators. English is not my first language, although i rarely used any translators because koreans, especially young, understand english pretty well. I think its because US military is all over the place there 2nd ATMs take every cards (even my russian cards, which are banned everywhere), currency exchange machines are literally everywhere, but u dont need them since koreans made tourist special e-cards for like 1-2$. You can use them as ur regular card and also use it in subway, buses, cafe, shopping etc dont know about taxi, never used it since public transportation is well developed South korea is a hidden gem with its nature, people and architecture

@ not a yank, i was in seoul and a rural area nowhere near the US bases. 5+ years is a long time and korea was in the middle of huge developments, maybe things had improved, but i never met a local who wasnt some sort of official who could speak more than 5 words of english, even the casino staff i encountered, a business that caters by default to foreigners, a business i work in, did not speak much english at all. The financial problems were 100% a thing at that time and i had korean friends who were born there helping me and my mix of white and asian friends. Also i HATED how koreans treated the road, themselves, and other drivers, scariest s**t i've ever seen, taxi drivers getting bored at waiting at busy intersections, flicking on the hazard lights and just driving through traffic at red lights. Insane. Nothing like other asian countries.
I would have a problem taking lots of expensive gifts, to be honest. Even if the man is legitimately providing a service and everybody knows exactly what they're getting into, I would still FEEL like I was taking advantage of them, myself. Just as well I'll never have that problem, I guess!
5'11 isn't that tall anymore in Korea. The younger generation over there has grown a lot now. I am 6' and usually that would make you stand out over there. Not anymore.

Nah, it's immigration. Italy has admitted that the population decline is irreversible, and korea's is worse.
