Hi I want to program the relay to switch off at 24.2v and remain off for 15 minutes to give the batteries time to charge back up. Do I set T1 or T2 to 999?

How do you determine which of the work modes (P2, P3 or P4) you actually use?

Sorry for this sort of a beginner's question: I'm trying to automatically dump excess energy from my solar panels into a 48V water heater once the battery is full (or at least at 80%). I learned that this relay/controller can do that. I just don't understand where the connection of the controller should be attached. I see people on UA-cam fixing it to the battery, others put it on their hybrid inverter/charge controller. I don't seem to understand that concept. I learned that the cables from the charger to the battery must be thick due to the heavy amperage and now here comes this tiny accessory with cables 10-15% of the battery cables in size and handles it well. Can you please explain where my understanding starts to get wobbly? English is not my first language ... I hope you understand my question. THX!

That display looks like a bad solder joint. I'd try wicking it off and applying some good quality solder to it. Should be fairly easy, those indicators don't tend to have the pins close together.

      They're not soldered, it's a pin connection.

@@ToysforWatts Oh wow that's an odd way of doing that but guess it was the easiest way to tool the line.

    Hi. Sorry for bothering again.
A few videos ago I sended a response as well about these controllers. Now with this close-up I am sure we are talking about the same controller.
The connections you use on the controller can also be used to control an AC load. (as long as you stay below 30 Amps. It is still "China-quality", so maybe not use 30A :p)
You can see this on the blue relay inside the controller as wel ("30A 240VAC")
I did this as well with almost the same device (I do have the upgraded version, which has a few more menu options such as delays).
I did put the controller on the live wire into my grid-tie inverter. And till now it is working perfect.
By connecting it this way, you eliminate the frustrating fotek relais, which are inefficient because they are creating heat.
About your question for the settings. These are the settings: [Upper limit] - [Lower limit] - [Correction value] - [Display off time (in minutes)] - [Above upper limit / Below lower limit]

I would be interested in seeing a picture of how you have the it all connected to your terminals. These relays seem to share a ground between the switching and load circuits, I don't think I would be able to isolate one from the other.
I guess I need to look at the backside of the board.

Have you considered adding a simple voltage divider to drive the braking relays? I suppose the drive current is very small and some 10kohm 33kohm divider should work just fine.

I'm not familiar with these particular relays, but if they're conventional types (with a coil) you could put a resistor in series with EACH relay coil, if you drive them all through one resistive dropper or divider the voltage drop will increase as more relays are called, this could result in relays dropping out.
You need to know how much current the relay coil takes, what its operating voltage is and what the voltage is that energises the relay, the required resistance R (ohms) = V/I where V (volts)is the voltage drop required and I (amps) is the current.
