Is not easy to find a replacement of James Dewar's dearly missed voice or Davey's. But this guy makes a great job capturing the soulfulness in Trower's music.
Richard Watt's does an excellant job of capturing the moment,... not so easy,... when Trower is playing note's... that are not major or minor,... each "vibrato" has to fit,... you won't here sound's like these two,... from anyplace else.........
Yep, I really like all the vocalists that Robin's chosen over the years but he is the very closest to James, I got to see them in Houston before I moved away.
The song offering itself is great. Parts of Robin's solo via his signature wah sound, closely mimic an almost human voice. Robin himself said he could find no fault with this track. Of course, Taggarts steady drumming and the vocals of Watts bring the song from Trower's head to a fantastic reality. Trower and company deserve a Grammy nomination or a Blues Award nomination for this fine cd. Nice!

I have loved RT since the Procol Harum album, A Salty Dog. Whisky Train was a revelation and I wanted more. As one of the last surviving great rock guitarists from that era, Jeff Beck notwithstanding, I applaud his efforts to continue despite all the ageism he has encountered. His productivity has increased, and has inspired my efforts to continue writing and playing music. You're a treasure Robin, thanks for the inspiration!
At the end the singer voice is another string of Robin's guitar (Dewar is a different story, my man, 😢). ROBIN, I will never get tired to shout loud and clear.. ROBIN TROWER WAS, IS AND WILL BE THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER EXISTED..!!!! Once more, he is not a human being, no one is capable to do what he does. HE MAKES HIS GUITAR CRY AT DAYDREAM and my spirit leaves to be seated next to me.
One of my favorite guitar players and songwriters. Robin Rules since the first time i heard him. Such a big influence on me and my writing! Rock on Robin!
Why do some people still compare robin to Hendrix?,they obviously don’t understand robins style or technique and the songs he plays. I’m 65 seen him and listened to him for years,it may not be obvious to some but there is a vast difference.
Couldn't agree more. Hendrix was THE psychedelic guitar pioneer, showman, and front man, but I don't believe that his actual musicianship equals Trower's. Robin's chord voicings are sometimes very jazzy and much more musical to my ear. I have always said that Trower doesn't just write songs, he writes total compositions, and, in my opinion, there is a huge difference. Needless to say, again this is just my own opinion and not the law.
@@johnnyr.8852 I agree. Hendrix was great but his songwriting was not as good as Trower's. While I'd call them both psychedelic, Robin is a much more sensitive player and is much more pleasing to the ears.
"Robin Trower still is and always will be the greatest guitar player in the world!" This is incredibly magnificent and very guitar moody. His intense feel and intense tone always rise above the rest.
I totally agree. No one is as good as Trower. His note selection, songwriting, phrasing and sensitivity are incomparable. Robin's playing makes me feel much more than anyone else's. I get tired of other guitarists but can listen to Robin all of the time.
@@rft2001 It's true. Other artists music sometimes sounds the same but Robins has a wide range of different styles in every song. Even when he uses the muted strings like Caledonia or tale untold those songs don't sound alike at all. Keep rocking Robin.

The action is low but the strings seem so tight compared to my 1970s univox les Paul that virtually plays itself. I’m wondering if a tech changed the strings if maybe the guitars action could be loosened up. ? Sounds just like a real fender vintage and looks beautifu just painful to bend and get that good vibrato action?
I would love to see him tour with this band. The singer definitely has James and Davey qualities. That seem to pair with his music like a fine wine with the right meal.
Robin said this could be the best thing he's ever done but I can tell you that Victims of the Fury and Bridge of Sighs had some remarkably powerful songwriting and playing. Unequaled.
Been a long time Robin Trower fan. Started back in High School, his music was good to just sit and listen to, and I also used some of the songs to chill before a track meet. A good friend of mine, and I saw him play back in the 80s in Passaic, NJ. My ears were never the same… To this day, this music just resonates with me (yeah, I know).
