I'm 59 years old, but I've been listening to ROBIN TROWER since the album bridge of sighs came out. I've always loved his lead work. It was the reason I started to learn guitar those many years ago. This song The razor's edge it's a total new ball game because I can really dig the lyrics. It totally describe society today. It's not what we say, it's what we do that will be remembered for good or bad. ROBIN TROWER is an elder statesman in rock and roll. The wise will listen to what he has to say in his sun setting years. Yes I've always enjoyed ROBIN TROWER. I knew how talented Robin Trower was when I was a kid. This time though, he got me with his lyrics. His guitar playing was just iceing on top of the cake.
Sir Robin does it again... I believe Robin Trower is the most underated and under appreciated Blues/Rock talent ever. His music library is massive and blues guitar jam mastery is unmatched. A true living legend and gift from the guitar gods... Thanks for another timeless rock gem for the Trower Tribe!! Rock on brother and band mates!!! 😚🎸🎶🎤🥁🎸💖✌️🙌🤙
I've only been listening to Robin Trower about 50 years, but I think he has a bright future in this biz. Thank you, good sir, for countless hours of exquisite listening joy. Some music makes me want to get up and dance, but yours sinks me into a rapturous trance, and that is as good as it gets.
Hi, Tim. Well, you've got me beat by two years. I started listening to Mr. Trower back in 1974. Amazing song here, isn't it? And the vocalist Richard Watts sounds almost like the late James Dewar.
@@brainerdboy1177 Yes similar, but the voice of James Dewar was given to us by the gods. Raspy, soulful, and every note sang with true emotion. Long Live Trower!!
What sets Robin apart from other guitarists is a prolific talent for songwriting and composition. He's just turned 77 and the fire is still there in abundance. Remarkable stuff
🎩Robin IS STILL one of a Handful of Pre eminent pioneers of Rock Guitaristry & A Living Legend ! An Inspiration to Countless Generations of Musicians just like Me ! Thank You Fur All The Years Of Treasured Albums and Shows Robin!!!🎵
My all time favorite guitarist, followed by (in no particular order) Hendrix, SRV, BB King, Sonny Landreth, Joe Satriani, Ry Cooder, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Walter Trout, Keb Mo, Eric Clapton, Taj Majal, Tony Iommi, Derrick Trucks, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Perry, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Page, etc.
@@F8Tributo I would throw Rory Gallagher and Alvin Lee into the mix. You rarely hear them mentioned on any "greatest" guitarist lists. But they influenced many of the guitarists you mentioned.
Robin Trower has one of the most recognizable guitar styles and sound in the history of guitar-dom imo. Truly a Guitar Icon. Great song. Reminicent of some of the OG Trower material ("Bridge of Sighs"/"For Earth Below"). Looking forward to the new album.
Billy , 🙃 I saw him too !!! The Passion tour 88' Extremely Awesome 👍 my shirt was blowing by the vibrations created by the monitors!!! It was intense, you know what? My ears 👂 didn't even ring after the show!!! What a true Artist.
What a shame that the classic rock programmers will ignore Robin's latest. Instead we will get to hear "Enter Sandman" "Stairway To Heaven" "Breaking The Law" etc. ad nauseum . The man (Robin) needs to be held in the upper echelon of great musicians. Where his every word is taken to have as much merit as say Keith Richards, Dave Grohl. He is more of a spokesman than they will ever be. Robin, thank you for giving us such quality year after year. I wish you health, and richness (yacht type) I will continue to purchase everything you release. We are so lucky to have you.
Perhaps this new cd due out at the end of April, will finally get Robin nominated for a long overdue Grammy nomination in the blues category? Robin is one of the most underrated rock/blues guitarists of all time. Thank goodness, his manager (Derek Sutton) his cult like following, and Trower's signature sound, masterful guitar voicings and tone, and his desire to continue to evolve, have all kept him around for all of us to enjoy for so many years! I thank ALL of them!
I wish Robin Trower would tour with David Gilmour I’d pay anything to see that concert!!!…🤙😎🤘… Bridge of sighs still one of the best songs that’s ever been written in music history and will live on forever!!!…. Most iconic first three notes of any song!!!…
HOLY MOLY' OF JAM TIME Been a long time wating for The Trower ..tonight....😁😁😁😊🙃🙃🙃🙃I jus told my brother I pivkedy phone up and said hey man check this out Thanks Trower Thanks Guy'S
The title of this new Trower cd, "No More Worlds To Conquer," is just a very fitting way for Robin to say what his fans have known for decades. He has nothing left to prove as a world class guitarist...period!!!
Robin's new single is awesome and his vocalist reminds me of the late great james dewar. I met robin some 40 years ago working at a Sacramento California hotel where he was doing his own laundry. Keep on rocking robin!
@@holygeneration7 I believe he has, for a long while now. He found his vocalist/bass player Richard Watts in church. When you consider Robin's spiritual leaning, and really listen to many of his albums, the lyrics, the album titles, the truth is there, sometimes obvious, sometimes very subtle. I'm convinced Robin is a believer in Jesus. He doesn't come out and say it, but the lyrical content of so many of his songs are filled with faith, hope and love. Check his "Where You Are Going To" release from 2016. He wrote a song for his late wife, called "We will be together some day". Very heart felt and touching. Go back and listen to the last twenty years of releases, with an ear to hear, and you'll be surprised. Yes, I believe Robin is saved, and will light up heaven one day, with praise and joy before the Lord.
I've listened to trower for a long time played drums with a cover band day of the eagle two rolling stoned bridge of sighs love this man excellent musician and I have surrendered recently I come to find out he's also on the same road all I can say is wow!!!!! trower power 🔥
I saw him live about 10 years ago. A fantastic show. Most people don't realize how hard it is to survive as he has. Having the talent is core but being able to survive in the music industry, especially in his style is very difficult and is 2/3 's of the talent unseen. Being competitive and getting paid is extremely difficult. Robin has mastered it all and is a dedicated true icon worthy of every praise. God Bless him and we wish him continued success! Bravo Robin!
thnx for a life time of listening to your music....your style of play....the defined sound...and always finding the spiritual under tones...this one .reminded me of James....Thank you Mr. Trower
This is awesome!! I started listening to him and other blues players and rock and metal when I was literally 2 1/2 years old. I have an Aunt who is 9 years older than me and I would always go in her room with her and she would play excellent music. So even when my Mom and I would go visit my Grandma and my Aunt was in school, I would always ask to go play her record's. Luckily my aunt taught me how to properly handle a record and put them away too. I was so excited when I was 5 years old, my Mom took me to a place called National Record Mart, to pick out my first album, I picked out, Black Sabbath, Paranoid. I still love Robin trower. It's been a long time coming, Bridge of Sighs! 🎸
Very much looking forward to the new album, sounds like Robin has returned to a more rock style. I am a massive Trower fan and absolutely delighted that he uses that 1970s Strat / Marshall amp sound as per Bridge of Sighs. Promises to be a superb album.
I immediately thought of go my way when I started hearing songs from this album, more rocking! Blues style gets old to me after awhile, I like victims of the fury style better. I will probably be purchasing vinyl and CD.
@@billterri4889 That's why I said it. Every other famous musician is willing to let ability lapse and hash out the same routines and simply be satisfied by past accomplishments. Trower gets better with age. Have fun with it.
