I love it that you did these wear tests!
I have ridgy (but healthy and strong) nails, and I can never get a manicure to last on me. I have a feeling it's because of the ridges. The polish just doesn't grip well with the uneven surface.

I used to have very ridgy nails. I've noticed since following this channel that my ridges have decreased. I also eat more animal protein.
For manicures, a good base coat is key

I still can't help but to roll my eyes at "pre-cured" technology they advertise. I love that you used clients with different nail types. Would be awesome to have regular clients/models that can you could test more products on.

My impression is that it is possible there is not much difference from previous Infinite shine. Love the diversity on the tests. Seems like as you have always mention, if you have damaged nails the Polish would not hold as well to them. I have the old Infinite shine and when my nails were in good condition it really lasted but now after menopause my nails are not doing well even while treating them as you have taught me on this channel 😢

I have been using this line for a very long time. The one thing I never do is add cuticle oil to the cuticles after the manicure & I do dehydrate the nail plate with scrub fresh. Most all of my natural nail clients do really well with it. 😊

I'm a polish hobbyist, not a pro, and I do my own manicures. I think that the silver cap on the Inifinite Shine line makes the polish look so glamorous and pretty, but as far as performance goes, I have noticed no difference between the regular line and IS line except for price.

I think it looks good if your nails are in pretty good condition, it held up pretty well. I usually add another top coat after a few days and usually get 7 days out of even their regular polish, so I'd expect a few more out of this version. I also cap the free edge and I think that helps.

Doesn't last that well with all the chipping which is interesting. I will use my Essie smooth-e base, Essie's nail polish like Vanity fairest or mademoiselle, then their gel topcoat or the like gel one from Catrice and I get 10 days without chipping. Even Catrice's Proplex bond repair clear treatment stays put for a week without issues. I think I'd expect better from OPI :( All the colors shown here lost shine and look more matte too.

It looks to me that all the results were very well preserved. Some had slight chipping, but the group was diverse. We all use our hands differently. With that in mind I was pretty impressed. Although, I’ve been a huge indie shopper since I came back into doing nails after almost a 20 year break and with an enhancement anything will stay. So I’m impressed with this on natural nails.

  • @andreearadulescu9340

from what I can see it's not for people that work with their hands, and lasts better on normal nails, whether they are flexible or not... but lifestyle factors, how well one takes care of their manicure and exposure to the elements can play into it.

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one having a bad experience with the NEW OPI Infinite Shine formula.
It’s an expensive crappy line, dragging down the brand😤
I’m also a bit angry because the OLD Infinite Shine formula is my fave and I use it on a weekly basis.
I have to find alternatives if they’re replacing it with the new formula😳.

Interesting results. Maybe that one nude-ish shade is more prone to chipping. Regardless, if this is what the nails look like after 7 days, I would rather stick with regular opi nail polishes and base coat that I know for a fact I can keep for 7 days with minimal to no chipping.

Hello Anna! I have not had any problems with OPI 3-step Infinite Shine polish. It lasts 3 weeks on my nails without chipping. However, the top coat lacks shine in the 3rd week. I know I should redo my manicure after 2 weeks but I don't have the time.

This was really helpful. I don't think, based on those results, I'd splash out on the base coat, polish and top coat as most didn't seem to wear very well at all. Interestingly, the two darker colours seemed to last longer - so was that due to a different formulation or just the type of nails both those clients had?

I’m not impressed. Dazzle Dry gives me better results (lasts similarly, maybe not as many chips). I’ve been using my hands a lot while potting succulents and my skin around the nails is torn. Thank you :). Well, the polish didn’t even stay perfectly for 7 days so no need to test it longer in my opinion. Basically from this test I conclude that it’s not lasting extremely long.
Number 2: I really don’t recommend wearing polish for longer than 6 days really. Higher risk of staining, yellowing and nail surface damage.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 місяці тому

Chipping and peeling is an issue with a bond, not top coat.
That is like when you get a leak in a foundation, fixing a roof is not gonna help.
Reapplying top coat might help with maintaining the shine, thats it.

It looks like the clients who have more troubled nails had the worst outcome with this product. I believe that’s typical. Damaged, ridgy, weak nails just don’t have the integrity a healthy nail does so the polish doesn’t adhere well. What I did notice is that the lighter polishes appeared to have changed color… maybe the top coat dulled but a few look quite different from the photos you posted right after you completed their manis.

Not impressed. I see a lot of chipping on the pink polishes at the end of the 7 days. The red ones seemed to have stayed on better, but lost all shine. The application on the client at 1:40 looks very streaky and uneven, so the formula on that color was not good.
