The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. this is the best video ever created by mankind. You even clearly stated the torque values.... someone give this man the metal of honor
This is the most straight-to-the-point vehicle repair video i have seen on youtube.
Extremely well shot and narrated. One of the best mechanical tutorials I've come across on UA-cam.
My only gripe with the video is the fact that y’all put yellow coolant into the engine, especially since what came out and still a decent amount in the block is Toyota pink
I just ordered the part. This will be the first time using your products. However, your videos have helped me numerous times! Thank you!
This video is very helpful. Just did this on a 2003 4runner.
It was very easy and only broke 1 bolt. Thankfully it came out easily and we had spare bolts at the shop.
Excellent photography lighting and step-by-step instruction excellent
This video is amazingly well done. I have very little experience working on trucks and just replaced my water pump, 2 idle pulleys, and my drive belt on an 08 Tacoma V6 Sport.
Took me 7 hours. Slowly but smoothly. He’s not kidding about how breakable those small bolts on the pump are, worth getting a better torque wrench than mine as I broke one yet luckily got it backed out with channel locks
Whining sound is gone. Thank you immensely

@@IdahoSolar my 2004 V6 has 209K, no issues yet, trying to decide if i let it go to failure or replace now?
My 2005 4Runner has 120k with no issue, I guess based on what see I can wait.
Thanks for all the videos you do XD
Awesome DIY! Is this the same process for a 2007 sequoia?
Beautiful video 😍
Good video
Awesome video! But what about the major frame rust😭
Awesome job... Explained everything perfectly! I need to do it on a TRD supercharged 1GRFE, so will be a little more complicated to remove the belts for that one too!
My water is due but working fine! Do I mess it or wait for it to show signs of failing? What would that be?
2005 model 120K miles. Thanks.
Excelente
Hello friend, my question would be is the same torque for a 2020 4Runner Thank you 🙏
You're d man.. thanks..bro.
Where is the Coolant Temperature Sensor located at ? I've been looking to replace mine and can't find it.
Could I do this and the pulley tensioner ? At same ?
What torque wrench are you using?
Question. I went to do this. My tensioner screw is now stripped. It won’t tighten. I see metal from the threads inside. The bolt is out but can’t thread it in. After a day of trying to do this job because of lack of parts at the auto local store. It’s always something.
Is the water pump and thermostat recommended to be replaced on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 at a recommended mileage interval? It's not giving me an issues but the vehicle has 160k miles already and want to make sure everything is solid because I take the car camping alot.
+Lou Chavez The general recommendation for most vehicles is after 60,000-100,000 miles.
Dont forget to tighten your crank shaft pulley bolt. If anyone follows this and realizes afterwards they forgot you can take the serpentine belt off the crank, wrap the old belt around it a couple times and then wrap the end around something solid on the underside, then it will be held in place to torq down.
When I've done everything with hand tools this makes you look like you have soft hands brother
+Treyvon Houston Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
my tensioner doesnt have 2 gaps to extract the bottom bolt from water pump any ideas?
What’s the best way to extract the broken bolts around the water pump? 😢
No gasket sealer?
Each idler pulley has different torque specs. I know one of them is 40, keep that in mind when doing it yourself. Torque specs easily found online
