He started in Mandarin and then went into Italian. I only noticed it recently after listening to this lots of times LOL. You did good noticing it the very first time you watched it!! This is the only video I have found so far of Confessa and I really really like it. I wish he'd sing it again!!
The lyrics are a man singing how his woman has changed and no longer wants him (he says she treats him like a dessert with a bitter aftertaste that she no longer wants to eat). He wants to know why she has changed towards him and sings 'those who do not love will not be loved'. Slightly threatening I thought...but he is a man scorned LOL!
The Diva Dance was created by computer as something that couldn't be sung by a human voice, but you know Dimash - he likes a challenge! The version of it you listened to is good but not his best version. Two others are better (Bastau and the duet with Li Yugang which is interpersed with Li Yugang's famous hit The Drunken Concubine). BTW Li Yugang is fantastic too - he is a world famous Chinese opera singer who sings 'Dan' (the female parts in opera) and also does acting and comedy. He is a lovely person, very kind, very smart. His voice is quite different and a perfect foil for Dimash. I highly recommend the duet of Diva Dance +The Drunken Concubine - it is weird, wonderful and totally crazy. You won't believe your ears.
All three versions of Dimash's Diva Dance are different - he sings it however he feels like on the day. Maybe you should do all three versions in a video and compare them! You'll be astounded. Two of them are really short so fairly easy to squeeze in on one video.

Everyone always suggests "Confessa + Diva Dance", but I try to suggest "Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance" because of the bass growl note between songs. Apparently there is a third "Diva Dance" with whistle notes from 2018.

The Drunken Concubine performance is great in its own right. I don't agree suggesting that just so he can hear the low growl because you can hear that at the beginning and end of his vocalized version of Know and also in one of the versions of Stranger that he sang in China.

Hello. This is a song by Adriano Celentano. At first, Dimash sings in Chinese (Mandarin), and then switches to Italian. He often sings in Italian. You asked in another reaction if he speaks English. Yes, he speaks well. Well, he knows Russian in excellence.

The Diva Dance is a song written for the movie “The Fifth Element” with Bruce Willis and Mila Jovovich. It was suposed to be a song imposible to sing for a human being (in the movie is sang by an alien) buuuuut Dimash came to say “hold my beer”.

Dimash will blow our minds just when you least expect it, or when one might have doubts of his vocal skills. I get what you mean when you say, being the best is subjective to listening to someone sing, as there are many out there who are excellent also. In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old) and the first non-Chinese. Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned Chinese hydroglyphs: ⭐Di - achievement ⭐Ma - precious stone ⭐Shi - dream, wish.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

He speaks quite good English now. He recently did an interview in Germany where he answered the questions in English and didn’t need the interpreter they had provided.

He started in Mandarin so the audience would get what he was singing even though the song is Italian. Of course, neither is one of his two native tongues (Russian and Kazakh).
Dimash has recently given an interview in Düsseldorf, where he spoke pretty well, in English. Didn’t need the interpreter. The interview went on for quite a while too.

The second song Diva Dance was from the movie The 5th Element with Bruce Willis. It seems that you don't know this movie. This song was written for an alien opera singer and was not considered singable for a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. There are some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male! Please also react to the Diva Dance from his Bastau concert. It’s a short one and you can react this song with another awesome version of Diva Dance together because it is really short. There are also more little vocal-surprises in this second video. It’s called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings with the Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera Li Yugang. The two harmonize so well together. It’s really fantastic. I’m sure you will like it.

Well! In my modest opinion, what is objective is if you like a singer or not. If you get goosebumps listening to his/her music or not. It is what it is. But the rest of the aspects are totally objective. As a component of a barbershop choir I know it perfectly. There are several judges evaluating different aspects to give you their grade. And that is objective. That’s why Dimash is for me the best artist in the world (at least I haven’t seen jet a singer like him) Range, pitch, voice control, breath control, stage presence, transitions, dynamics, technique… all those aspects are parameters that can be evaluated and music teachers train their students to achieve the best scores they can in each of them. That’s not subjective. So, paying attention to those aspects I can say that Dimash is the best singer in the world (and if I am wrong) please let me know who sing better because I desperately need to know him/her to enjoy his/her music like I enjoy listening to Dimash
