Overview
The first Hangar 9® Ultra Stick™ ARF revolutionized the Stick genre with innovative design twists that really spiced up performance such as a large, double beveled control surface for 3D flight, extra-large control surfaces and optional quad flaps. Building on the legacy of this popular design, the Ultra Stick 30cc ARF provides intermediate to expert pilots a giant-scale sport plane with a wide flight envelope. It features durable construction and an abundance of power options so you can make it as mild or wild as you want. As with its predecessors, the flaps and ailerons are double-beveled so you can take advantage of flaperon and crow mixes. These control surfaces, along with the rudder and elevator, have been oversized for even better 3D capability than before. Hardware and mounting options for gas and electric power are included. You can even add floats (sold separately). Enjoy an intoxicating blend of sport-flying fun with this superbly crafted ARF that more than lives up to its name.
Turnigy gas engines have evolved over the last few years, and have now culminated in the TP (Turnigy Power) series. These TP engines offer even more power and torque than previous versions, and they remain the perfect choice for model aircraft. They are lightweight, powerful, easy to operate, hand start with ease, and have a greater degree of reliability.
There is nothing like the look and sound of a twin-cylinder engine, the TP31-T is the perfect choice for a whole host of scale and sport model airplanes. The TP31-T has very easy starting characteristics and offers low maintenance running. It will give you almost as much power as its nitro equivalent but is more economical, and it uses regular gas that can be purchased from a gas station. The TP series comes with re-designed porting in both the head and cylinder which provides the extra power and torque. It still, however, allows the engine to be very easy to tune, whilst still maintaining a smooth power curve, and have a constant, reliable idle.
All TP engines have a composite insulator block that houses the reed valve and mounts between the Walbro carb and the engine. This insulator block helps stop heat transference from the engine to the carb for improved running. The supplied wide voltage TP electronic ignition module the timing automatically to give peak performance throughout the entire rev range of the engine.
The pumped Walbro carburetor sits underneath the engine which keeps the profile quite similar to that of a full-size flat aero engine, this makes it perfect for scale airplanes. Another feature designed to help fit the engine in scale cowls is the angled spark plugs, this reduces the overall width of the engine quite considerably. The engine includes stand-offs with mounting bolts, spark plugs, mufflers, and gaskets. Just add an ignition battery, a propeller, and mount it up to your favorite airplane.
Features:
• Realistic looking and sounding twin cylinder gas engine
• Re-designed porting for even more power and torque
• Cast aluminum crankcase with anodized aluminum components
• Walbro pumper carb
• Composite carb insulator
• Compact mufflers with gaskets
• Wide voltage auto-advance TP electronic ignition module

You guys have such a talent. One gets a feeling of fraternity . It is like popping in on the way home to the flying field and catching up with your friends. Well done for creating such a relaxed and friendly vibe.
Oh thanks for very kind words!!!!
A channel where we can all feel like at home.
Thanks again to my favorite brothers for another great morning coffee treat! Great to see Capt Blaz flying his favorite type of propulsion and a twin no less! Best to you and yours always! Big salute from Chicago!! Oh yeaaah!!
Oh yeahhh what can be more sexy :))
Instead of adding all that extra weight. Use longer standoffs for the engine.
Great thinking.
The engine needs to be put on stand offs 80-100mm ,then you wont need to carry a ton of lead and it will fly alot better.
Sounds like one of the pots needs to be richer on the top end as it was stuttering .
Move the power box to the front aswell if you can.
Always better if you can lose all that lead.
Tank should be over the CG really ,then that doesnt effect flying characteristics as it empties.
These hanger 9s fly really well once set up especially if you have over 2-1 power weight ratio like a YS 140 in it.
Hope this helps.
Nice Flying Blaz and the good babbling Robert
Yes this is all true...yes engine still needs to be tuned to perfection..after few flights i will tune it more...
@@elpunto231 Nnnnnyyesss, this will be something eh
Good catch, I was wondering why it needed all that weight in the nose. I didn't notice the engine being mounted so close to the firewall... Like you say, move it forward and you can get rid of all those wheel weights!
The Ultra is one of the greatest airframe ever made, so versatile and dialed in. Needs to be handled and setup with a lot more respect, it’s a legendary giant.
There is no UA-cam without this channel boys good to hear you are going to be more active
Lets hope my friend.
I DO LOVE the way you both kid around about the sport. THAT is the way it SHOULD BE. Thanks so much.
Oh yeah Bill. We do this for fun and it should be like that for anyone.
Thanks gents for the shout out, always fun to hear and speaking of which, what a great sound or little Turnigy engine makes ;) So glad you got it flying and that it performed exactly as it should . Stuart.
You brother's are hilarious and very informative . Want to get into RC Planes . Looks like a nice place to visit. May God bless you guys.
Ohh yeahhhhh!!!!
It’s running rich. I would lean it. You guys are great.
Petrincic brothers videos are really enjoyable to watch, Cpt. Blaz is the gas engine mad scientist, and you're both very capable pilots. Thanks for all the content you guys have put on UA-cam, hours of fun and information!
Thanks for kind words!!
I made this plane into a TWIN ENGINE !
TWO DLE 20's rear exhaust !!
Im glad you have so much fun flying and of course making videos for the whole world RC enthusiast's !!
Lol !!
The best of both worlds! State of the art tech and a classic RC monster. This twin is a treat.. The sound is perfect, and it idles so reliably. This will be a perfect stunt Stick. Big salute from London. 👍
Oh yesss...this engine is very very nice runner!!!!!i LOVEEE IT!!!!
Captain Blaz...nice landing 👍
Another great video brothers! I bought this plane 2 years ago during Covid lockdowns and now i am finally building it! Hangar 9 always build beautiful models of high quality. I am fitting a DLE40cc twin cylinder engine to mine. I have run in the engine already. Salute!
Bit tail heavy I'd shift the battery's forward and loose the nose weight. Well done not panicking and nice landing, love what Yas do
Orange receiver on a giant Stik??!!! You guys are the bravest brothers I know! Having a priest in the family won’t bring you closer to God, pointing a giant Stik in your general direction with Orange Rx will!
Good one my friend ;-)
I enjoy going back and watching previous wido's of the famous Petrincic Brothers. This one was a joy. Russ NC/USA
Capt blaz, try moving batterys forward a bit or plane will be twice as heavy as original, nice to see you back in the air
Fantastic landing 😍
So d@mn funny these two. Good flying, humor, and unity!
All right can't wait to watch this when I get home from work!!
Oh you will love it my friend!!!
@@elpunto231 it's still only noon here. About 5:00 I'll sip a beer and watch the video
Yo, Captain Bläz, I got my first nitro. A nice used Sky Raider 2, it was hanging in a hobby shop, it has a used OS.40 engine, all servos and a fuel tank. Monokote de laminated so I recovered it and its ready to fly again. I still fly lectric foamies, so I will have to find a buddy to teach me to fly it.👈👈👈👍
I love the matching plane and shorts (salute).
I also enjoy when you show any products from Graupner. I'm from Chicago but I spend a bit of time near Stuttgart as a boy (early 80s). Their gliders for beginners were my introduction to radio control. I learned most of the German that I know from reading the building instructions. 😊
Ohhh nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you will come here some day..
The Captain...LoL he looked like a bobble head inside the cockpit at start of video. 🤣🤣
Bwahahahaahahahahha
Another great video good to see you flying blaz Once you get your elevators straightened out You will find out that the right-wing has a twist in it From the factory
It is very hard to take out but there is 5 mm twist in all right-wing panels of this airplane I even bought new panel and it's exact same way
You're right Aaron will be up about 4 mm to correct the problem In horizon will not warranty the wings Great job brothers
Just an observation, Capt Blaz has a habit of making slow speed turns. You can't get away with it on every model. But hay, that was a great maiden flight and this model is a beauty.
He was lucky ;-)
I have this plane with a 30cc DLE engine on it. An excellent plane. It is really hard to beat a stick for sport flying. Good job! Great video!
Dont add weight Cpt Blaz. Just make longer stand off's for the engine and move the batteries to the front with the fuel tank on the cog. They fly much better if kept light.
Looked like he scared the shit out of that hay bale when he took off.
Great boys I am at work for 2 weeks and when I get home I will have the madden with my ultra stick 30 thanks for the video
Great job Capt Blaz ! Good to see you guys out flying and happy ,
Oh yeahhhh!!!
Absolutely beautiful plane and flying! Thanks for sharing this 😊
This is something! Thank you very much for this video. The awesome sound of the engine motivates me even more to re-activate my glow powered planes!!! Great flying, though the start was a bit scary. The landing was perfect and overall the video was fun to watch. I can't wait to see your next video with gas or glow engines.
Yes just dont wait to long my friend...
G'day boys from the engine doctor In Australia now you're talking a piston engine and a balsa plane great work I do like those big sticks, But shit I thought you were going to hit that bale of hay Captain Blaz.👍👍🛩🛩🛩
Congratulations Blaž !!!
So happy the maiden went pretty well ☺️
I also ordered an ultra stick and a 4 stroke ngh GF38 engine.
I hope to do the maiden next year on your runway 😉
Great video , thanks my friends
Oh yeahhhh this is what we must do!!!!!!!!!!!!! Asap
Another great video and flight. Keep up the good work guys! It's always great to see you enjoying this hobby and sharing it with the world
Thanks!!!!!!
Great flight Captain Blaz, she sounded and looked great. What a butter landing. You did well as she was tail heavy. 👍🏻
I agree but the boys will sought it out 🤙🤙heart attack at start sweet landing
Cannot wait to see this fly love your videos spring is coming
Rudder Rudder !!!! That hay almost had you .
Pretty close ;-)(
A dream plane for me captain Blaž...
We farmers love to see farm machines at work thank you Robert for finding them 😀 👍
Oh yeahhhh ..i LOVEE IT!!
What a beautiful plane
I love your passion for this fantasic hobby and the filming is getting better every time. Lots of great information for those of us that are learning. But most of all I love this beautiful place where you fly. Slovenia is definatly a place that I will visit one day. Salute from Newcastle Australia.
I recently purchased the same plane. My setup is with a DLE 35 RA with a 17 X 8 three blade propeller. Radio system is Futaba T16IZ SBUS 2 system with GPS to give me altitude and speed with voice readout. 3 OZ lead in the nose and elevator servos at the tail give me a perfect balance. The recommended balance point is too nose heavy. Very good flyer, no bad habits at all.
Here is a tip from an armchair expert, try to place the fuel tank at the cg and your batteries right up front. Might be able to get rid of some of that ballast. Also as per another comment remount the motor on a standoff about 50mm out, it all helps. But I have to say I love that exhaust note. Another great video, thank you brothers.
DIS IS IT EY!!!!! WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR EY!!!!! GREAT FLIGHT
Nice landing Blaz HEY!
Thanks!!!!
Awesome,,, Great flying! And great fun, Happy Days , thank you friends!!
Cheers!!!
Lovely plane "Wow" very powerful engine .
Captain Blaz, thanks again for a great maiden flight, a little trimming an you will be good. Good to see you guys happy as always an flying. Take care Pilot Phil
Oh and i loved it :)
Ihr beide seid einfach spitze.
Wenn ihr nicht soweit weg wohnen würdet, wäre ich mal nach Slowenien zu euch gekommen.
Macht weiter so. Ihr seid klasse.
Nice flight my friends!! Beautiful plane. Get a white plastic grommet for the hose on right side of nose.
Yes i will have to..
Need to get mine out, have the old tgy52 on it. Mine's a SPAD UltraSpadStick so it's 2 meter but made of Coloplast. But the 2 meter is perfect for easy flying, fun. Love that two cylinder sound though.
Very nice and no burring from the camera. Best flight video to date maybe 🤩
Oh thanks!!!!
Great looking plane in the green color. It sounds so good. Captain Blaz you really are the engine doctor. Super landing. Pilot Robert good zooming.
Yes and green is my favorit ;) and twin on it makes it perfect combo :)
As I'm watching this great video,my neighbor is haying the fields right outside my house. The smell of fresh grass is so nice.It seems so ironic you guys are a half a world away, but your right here with me like the good friends you are. That is one beautiful plane and that engine,oh my God!I would like to suggest to you both,a tee shirt with the saying,"Hey whats with you?",and a picture of you both on it with your P40 warhawk on it .I would buy a 1/2 a dozen of them from you with pride to wear them.As always, you Brothers are the best.Your friend from Vermont,Chip
Ohhhh yeahhhhhhhh
Blaz that was a very nce maiden flight. With a little bit of tweaking the flight controls and tuning the engine, this will be such a fun airplane for you to fly.Congratulations on this and on getting your motorcycle license.Robert you did a fine job of recording this.It is always a great day when I can watch my friends at the flying field.A big salute to you both!👍🏻👍🏻
Yes my brother i love that plane..and the engine is perfect for it..cheers!!!!
@@elpunto231 I know that is a good engine, but I wish the US post office did not screw up when I sent that Saito 270t.I paid a lot for nothing and never got my money back from them.I don't have much money and could not afford to send it again.I am sorry about that.
I only have a regular Ultra Stick. I am jealous of your Giant Stick, capt. Blaz.
He loves it.
I bought the RED ultra stick arf (& didn't read the reviews 🤦♂️). Gas/nitro, its great. Electric instructions, were 3 paragraphs. Obviously it wasn't EVER designed to be electric. Went by the same setup as the pnp version, & STILL needed 3 POUNDS of nose weight 🤷🤯!
Interesting my friend.
well done capt blaz ,my heart was in my mouth on that take off.a little tail heavy but not a problem.
It was scary.
Thanks!! Ordered VVRC 40cc twin. I will need to bend the gear to swing a bigger prop
That Sound from the twin cylinder engine is music to my ears oh yeah you cant beat the sound of Planes with Gasoline or Glow engines awesome flight as any maiden is and you done extremely well was a little hairy and scary in the start you may still need to tweak a little more and surely will be more and more relaxing as you go thanks for sharing this awesome beautiful Green Beast Blaz and great Filming Robert was really good , salute to you both Guys :-)
Yes i think that the next time will be better..cheers
That motor is sweet music.
You and your brother are magnificent. I want to visit one day we will laugh all day long.
Love the sound of the crickets…
Beautiful Green Machine!!
Yes and it is made very very nice!!!!
way to go guys, nice flight Blaz, happy flying
Thanks my friend.
Great flight . Love the engine too. HK out of stock as usual in the USA
Hey blaz excellent flying an such a good landing u just need need to do some adjustments an u will have it such a great joy to watch the both of you an Robert very good job filming always look forward to your vids keep up the good work.
Thanks my friend.
I miss my ugly stick. I had a 90 on it.... It had the bright lime green translucent covering on it. It was my go to plane...
You must get new one :))
Love that engine!
The dog . haha. Excellent job brothers . Love to see this. 13:40 Ohh ! That was so close to that bale of hay on take off . I'm surprised the Capt doesn't have a Inclination or throw deflection gauge for his set ups . E-flite have a fancy digital one , but you can get a manual one much cheaper.
The sound is incredible and I bet the smell is too ! I hope one day i can get into the gas engine planes. I did just get a new nitro 1/10 scale onroad car , because i missed those 2 things very much . I'm breaking in the engine now and I painted up a nice 1966 Ford Mustang body for it, Zoom 👍🏼
That was to close .;)
Ah, Captain Blaz, the glow and gas wizard behind the sticks again. A little scary at first, but great flight, my friend.
Ohhh i just love piston driven engines :)
Nice flying Blaz and a nice model too, I like the motor you put in that has such a nice sound, and congratulations on getting the motorbike licence.
Yes it is perfect!!!
These engine sound really cool, even the tractor a bit annoying, but it's okay. salute captain 😂👍
The sound is great.
Way to go Blaz! And yes, that engine sounds wonderful when cruising by.
The sound is amazing Tom.
AMAZING!!! I hope I never see the day without the Petrincic brothers rc channel on UA-cam!!!
Oh dont worry ;)
Amen to that my friend ;-)
Fantastic maiden, now you can sort out the needed changes to make if fly perfectly. Great flight CPT Blaz, well done. Fantastic zooming and epic babbling Pilot Robert, Salute Jeff in LA USA
Yes i will sort it all up and fly again
Yea! Thats the Ultra Stick from Hanger ! I Love it for real wilde 3d ... you can do all. With that thing ! , Not that Beauty but to Fly a baaaaanger !!
I just put together the 60" 10cc version BUT I put a O.S. FS 91 surpass on it, I put the Life 6.6 V battery right behind the tank, and the servos for the rudder and elevator in back, and it Balanced perfect no added weight
I have a 10cc 60 inch ultra stick and put a 20cc RCGF twin on it. very smooth. Now it flies like it should. No lead weight either.
A great use of wheel weights!
Great idea.
It's good to see Captain Blaz under The sticks again but he is super nervous... He had nothing to worry about those big sticks fly so good.
He did great job on this baby.
Neat looking airplane! I now have one, was given one last week, it has an FT160 twin on it, since I only use electric, now I need to learn how to work with Nitro engines. Will be interesting.
Hi¡¡¡ Those wheelpants are really sturdy, considering how the grass is in your airfield¡¡¡ Regards
Captain Blaz doesnt need zee wrenches with those lunch box hands he has.
If you have double rates, best setting up with say 50% throw at switch off, 75% at position 1 and 90% at position 2........and play around until you find the sweet spot.
Radiocomando Spektrum, motore Tunirgy, ricevente Orange. Una miscela esplosiva!
Good one ;-)
You both made my day! thanks!
Gas engines are king! Nice Capt Bluz. Nice!
Oh yeahhh!!!!!!
”I thought you would hit the HAY HEY” 😆
Was close ;-)
Great video! Please do an update when you figure out what is happening with that "up" flap. Also, besides moving the engine forwar, perhaps you could get some weight around the crankase between the cylinders and the prop, there seems to be room there.
We will Alan.
I stopped breathing for a moment on take-off!!! Great aircraft and awesome flight Blaz! Thanks for the videos guys.
I stoped throu all the video 🤣🤣
@@elpunto231 🤣😂😜
You guys are great!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Now that's my era of flying......Big plane powered by Nitro never gets old. Great video guys!
It is a gas engine (pump gas)
@@danyel9256 Very cool. My old twins still run on nitro
My captain, O captain... Beautiful flight my friends. 👍
Thanks RC.
awesome video, good to see you guys on the field again, great flight capt.blaz, big salute from Chicago
Salute back!!!
Blaz is a real engine PRO!
Hangar9 hat wunderschöne perfekte Modelle
Awesome I’m putting a dle55 on mine and also have reinforced the whole structure fuselage and wings. Also using dubro pin hinges.
Can’t wait to get it all done. Have a great weekend everyone 🛫🛫👍🏻😁
You will love it!!!!
great flight
Nice plane nice flying hey .I salute 😎👍
