This was the first Meshuggah I heard I believe. Must have been 98-99 ish. I remember it was in some metal mag Nuclear Blast was promoting the fuck out of them at the time the album had just dropped. I didn’t know music could even sound like this. Went right out and got DEI and Contradictions Collapse/None. I couldn’t comprehend this had existed for all these years it was like another musical dimension had been revealed. So many imitators but there will only ever be one Meshuggah.
Too good dude! 💪👏👏👏 Seen the knew interviews with Tomas Haake where he briefly acknowledges the kids who already had guitar and drum covers almost like 23 1/2 hrs after the single was released. He said "What the fuck!?" 🤣
After almost 3 decades listening to them, I’ve come to hear Tomas’ style as a lot of really tight flimflammery. Like blips of palindromes in a stream, I guess that’s basically just a lot of push/pull. Anyway, it’s brilliant.
You are talking about ESP. The one on the video is LTD, they're affordable- around 1-1,5 grand. They're not any worse, I have SC608B and it's one hell of a guitar, feels-plays-sounds like a hi-end ESP Horizon, the only difference is some components (like tuners) and country of origin (korea vs japan).
Now everybody wants to play meshuggah i remember 1997 no one new them i thought u was the only one that liked them but soon as you put somthing full circle everybody jumps on the wagon .
Man, today many people still don't love them (me included! And it's fun that I play their signature Ibanez m80m guitar even not liking them! Got it with a very good deal), but "it is cool to love weird music! I'm not like the others, I'm above them all". If you truly love them- it's the only thing that matters! The others who tell they like them, but doing it to be YOU for some profit/respect- posers.
You talking about a show back in 97 man it was meshuggah strapping young lad. Machine head and a a local band called mortal decay they played at the trocadero in Philadelphia the aucostics are awsome on that place..
Idk. for me most of their songs just get repetitive and boring but swarm I believe is the best song they've ever put out imo Definitely one of my favorites

Someone on a forum told me listen to Catch 33 and it legit took me ten year to appreciate it, but once I did, holy fuck.
Incredible how all three songs were released in '98 and yet sound like something from 2028
Djent is the shit man!
7:19 is the reason I keep coming back to this video. So good.
Jaw dropping. I just found more respect for an album I've always thought is one of the best achievements in music in any genre.
I love this live stream guitar playing. It's is awesome.

Dude if that ESP is only in the thousand-dollar range I would buy one but I remember seeing it for $4,000
Do you know the exact name of the ESP you're playing? Because if you're saying it's only $1,000 I really want to look into one
