- This is our family's Autism Story about the struggles we faced after our son graduated from High School. Finding a program for adults with special needs has been a huge blessing to our son and family. In today's video I am sharing our journey to discover Payton's place in the world.

Tears are streaming down my face as I watch this. I am the mom of an autistic boy who is a sophomore. Although he is very high functioning, I worry about after high school. God put me here through Kay so that I could see this video. He never fails.

What a blessing for all. I have a nine year old grandson who is moderate to severe on the spectrum and it is such a struggle for his parents.We do worry about what will happen with our B when he is older. Thanks for this encouragement.

I’m so impressed with this program that Payton is a part of, and seeing him concentrating so hard on his various tasks is a joy. He seems to be enjoying the work and the products he makes do indeed look high end. I don’t think we have a program like this in South Australia, but if we don’t, we should! Thank you for sharing this Robin! What an amazing vocational facility! I can see Payton is a hard worker and has your gentle spirit. I know you’re proud of the young man he is! My Alexander goes to a day facility here called Pine Castle that has a workshop that makes mops for the prisons and public schools in our state, but he doesnt function at a level to participate in that. He does help greet people and fills cups with ice at lunch or sweeps. It’s a huge blessing to know he has somewhere to interact and laugh and participate while I’m at work. Your positive videos are such an encouragement to me!

Robin, This is a meaningful and inspirational video about your son and the wonderful organization he belongs to. I don’t know if this comment will find you because the video is around a year old. I subscribed a few months ago and enjoy watching your current videos as well as your older ones. I’m excited that your subscriber number keeps rising! Such a heartwarming video. My 8 year old nephew has learning difficulties. He does go to a special school it's a amazing place. I was at his Christmas nativity play last year and the staff that work with them are really great.😊

Hello, Robin! I have been watching your videos for a couple of years but this video just popped up in my feed today. I live here and my oldest took a tour of BiG with his class this last school year and loved it. (I hope to tour it with all my boys soon!) We love visiting BiG for gifts for friends and family, teacher gifts, and special items for our home. I think it is so special how they include the card of the person who made each item and they always wrap everything so beautifully. 🎁 It's my favorite place to shop for gifts!! I am so glad that Payton has found a place to feel loved, valued, and productive. His work is just beautiful and his attention to detail, impeccable!! May God continue to bless your family as each of you are a blessing to others!! ❤️

Robin, this is wonderful! My oldest is also autistic (PDD-NOS), and is 29. He's not in any special programs right now (private ones are too expensive, and public ones have long waiting lists), but he is a big help around the house. It's great to see programs like BiG ministering to Payton -- and he, in turn, ministering to BiG. I'm so glad for him and for your family.

Our 2 grandsons are on the autism spectrum. Our 5 year old is nonverbal and our 10 year old has social issues. They each started new schools this year and it’s made a world of difference! So glad to hear of programs like BIG. God bless you and your family.

I have been a customer and supporter of the Brookwood Community in Brookshire, Texas for many years. In fact, I was just there to pick up a few items yesterday. I live in Katy, Texas, so it is fairly close to my home.
While there, I purchased some of the most beautiful African violets and succulents from the greenhouse, and I purchased some closeout items related to Christmas. Brookwood stocks the most beautiful home-related decorations in our area, and I always enjoy seeing the citizens who create these beautiful products.
May the Lord richly bless you and your gorgeous family, and may Payton thrive to his full potential through the mentorship and direction of others devoted to this cause. I am so happy that Payton has found his niche!

I am so happy for Payton. I know what being challenged really means. Being dyslexic I had many problems growing up. But still do. It's a life long journey! I am the full-time guardian of my younger sister who suffered pedimal seizures at six months of age and became severely mentally challenged. She has been with me since 2006. Cheryl went to school for 42 years to learn life skills, but she remains child like and totally dependent. Thankfully, she can walk and talk and has a really good vocabulary. When I first became her guardian it was a shock to my system, because I had never had children and was used to a full-time career and taking care of dogs. Over the years, we have settled into our own routine and do pretty well. I tease that I have a 64 year old 4 year old teenager all in one. I wouldn't want it any other way!

My adult son also has autism, but is much more severe. He can’t talk, and won’t ever be able to work. He used to be violent and out of control, but thanks to a miracle is now happy, calm and content, though functionally is on a toddler level. He goes to a day program where he goes on field trips and participates in arts and crafts, but spends most of his time there watching Disney movies. I wish we had a program like BIG here in FL.
I wish you had BiG where you are too. I’m glad you have a place where your son is happy. My prayer is that programs like BiG will grow and serve more of our special kids. 💙🤗💙
