Disinfecting All Purpose Cleaner Recipe:
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1 1/2 cup distilled water
15 drops essential oil
(I use Defender from Simply Earth - a comparable blend to Thieves from Young Living or On Guard from DoTERRA)
1/2 tsp castile soap
Mix in a 16 oz. spray bottle

I used to clean my whole house in one day every week but as I've gotten older I find I don't have the energy to do it all in one day. So I break mine up in to light cleaning and deep cleaning.

I have created a weekly housecleaning schedule that was tested 2 days ago. A friend from church popped by and I WAS SO HAPPY TO WELCOME HER INTO OUR HOUSE. What I previously felt was shame because my house was messy and yucky.

Yes it's a beautiful home that Robin has. I love living in a uncluttered clear home myself. Clutter tends to make me anxious so I enjoy living in a clear home as well. I know by keeping up a routine it is the only way my home can look like this. When I don't do upkeep and declutter on a regular basis yes hot spots appear throughout the house and looking at it on a daily basis can make me feel very unsettled. It is a true blessing that Robin shares what she does, it is really helping me to keep up with my own routines. We use white cloth napkins daily and as long as I wash them once a week they are easy to maintain. If I wait until they are all dirty it's a daunting task to wash and fold them all (we have about 80 of them). I was about to toss them in the laundry as I am watching this!

I work full time from 5:00 am until about 5:00 Monday through Thursday, and about 6:30 - 2:00 on Fridays. I have been waiting to "clean the whole house" on Saturday mornings, and do a marathon of laundry that same day. It is wearing me down. After watching two of your videos, I am going to figure out how to break it up through the week, and do a little bit each night. Thank you for the inspiration.

I spend a lot of time working outside the home but when I am home, it may sound crazy but I love cleaning first thing on Saturday morning, organizing and having a clean house for the week end :)

It's not crazy that you like a clean house. I like my two bedroom apartment to be clean.
Me too I get up early as I always do and every hour I do 1 task for 15 mins....ex: surface dust entire house....then relax til the next hour....I find it doesn't wear me out....if I have to run out somewhere I come home by next hour to do next task etc...this works for me I tried doing 15 mins after work but life gets in the way...and I often am too exhausted having to make dinner and clean up.

My cleaning got so much easier when my 4 children started getting old enough to help me, they each do their own laundry, they each have their own bedrooms to clean and take turns cleaning the 2 bathrooms they use!! We don't use our dishwasher very often instead everyone washes their own dishes after every meal

I love how u talk throughout because people are usually cleaning while watching these so they aren't always watching
This is the way I organize my home. A zone a day, I work thru my small home M-F. If I don’t get to something, I finish up on the weekend. I do certain tasks every week, and have my list of Monthly and Quarterly. I can easily do one of the monthly or quarterly tasks while I’m knocking out my weekly tasks. Because I touch everything every week, things don’t get too bad. Thanks for your warm encouragement.

Never thought about vinegar for softener
It really does work, especially with the bath towels. I’ve used it for years because I don’t really like commercial fabric softeners.
Thanks for the tip on washing microfibre cloths separately, I realised I was spreading towel lint over my windows!

What a gorgeous home! That bathtub is GOALS, I’d never get out of it! It is good to have a routine, otherwise it’s soooo easy to get overwhelmed (which is where I am bcuz we are just getting over colds). I also use vinegar in my laundry and baking soda too 😊😊😊

How often do you tackle these and what tools do you use?
Ya'el 4 Truth yes fans clean best with a double side cleaner that looks like it has dreadlocks. The container store sells them for about $14 but they screw onto a paint pole and you are ready to go. If you have very dirty fans then vacuum after each blade.
This is a thorough and helpful video. I used to utilize a 3x5 card system that basically listed daily chores on individual cards, weekly chores on a different colored card, monthly on yet another color and were divided accordingly in an index file. Each evening I would pull the cards for the next day. One thing I liked about this system if for some reason you couldn’t get to a chore on a particular day you could add the card to the next day or if you had extra time, you could pick a few chores from the next day. I used this system for years because I worked full time which made it necessary to be organized

Having a schedule is definitely beneficial! I do my laundry on Tuesday.. once a week as well! Putting it away is usually the problem 😆

I love your house, it’s so pretty. That is a large house, I do the one thing every day too. When my kids were little, I had a once a week housekeeper. Now that they are grown, I actually enjoy doing the housework. I do however have someone do the windows. It’s a little much now that I am almost 60.
Robin, this video really inspired me today. I am way behind due to a lot of social occasions this week. But I was really wanting to get moving after I watched this. Maybe this afternoon and tomorrow I can get caught up. My zone is one of the easiest ones this week (the foyer, dining room and front porch). I already did the front porch earlier in the week. I always admire your plantation shutters (is that what they are called?). Thanks for your efforts.

I'm allergic to house dust. I go into my bedroom and immediately stuff up. One place I always forget to dust is behind the headboard and dressers. Once this is done I'm much better. The extension works well in these areas. Thanks for the other tips.
Thank you Vivian! You are right- I should dust those more often. I do that when zone cleaning, but not usually weekly and it would be easy with the extendable duster. 😄💚

Hi! I'm new to you channel and I very much enjoy your tips. I have been going through he process of decluttering and donating because I have combined two houses and one apartment into one. I have triplicates of cooking pans, etc. I just did my kitchen over to allow for more space to house what I will use. I want to be sure of what I'm keeping because if I have it, I don't want to get rid of something only to find out that I needed it anyway and then have to buy it. I also like your bible study time. I want to do that for myself. I find it peaceful when I am able to spend that time.

I clean the house once a week on a Friday and also wash the bed sheets. I wouldn't like cleaning everyday. I do love housework though from a child. I live alone with 2 dogs so my house doesn't get very untidy.

That for that 10 min dryer tip. I will line dry first and then dry for 10 min on low heat to releases some of the wrinkles . I will definitely try your way next time. Thanks
